  1. With traditional dining there are tables for 10. We were 36 on a thanksgiving cruise and our TA arranged it with RCI. Had tables of 4 and 10 all in one area and then we rotated tables among the group so everyone got to sit with the aunt and uncle who were celebrating their anniversary. Drove the waiters a little crazy but it worked and everyone had fun.

Awww, that was nice. Thanks, I booked with RCCL direct over the phone.

  2. On our embarkation day Windjammer, Park Cafe and Solarium Bistro were all extremely crowded.

If you're okay with hot dogs, burgers, and nachos then you might want to check out the Small Bites eatery on Deck 16 (by the sports courts).

Do they have eggs to order for breakfast at the small bites?

  3. No, no teen compasses. I can tell you that our teens stayed out late having fun and met alot of new friends and woke up early, just to eat breakfast and hang out. They especially liked the teen silent party, full basketball court, waterslides and teen prom night.

However, they both said that the abyss was just blah. I thought it was fun, but I'm old. I am not a roller coaster type of person and this was just my speed. In case anyone reading is scared to go on the abyss. There is no drop, just turns in the dark really fast.

Good to know there is no drop on the Abyss. I am dying to try but do not like big drops.

    Thanks for the tips.

  4. In the Caribbean shore excursions are rarely sold out unless really popular. If it's something you have your heart set on in Europe or Alaska book asap. Otherwise we wait till about a month out. Once in while the website will only book an excursion on board. If this is the case make that your first stop once on board the ship.

Personally in 25 cruises with RCCL I have only seen excursion costs rise not go down. I suppose it's always possible.

And yes we do still sometimes book thru the ship. Depends on the port and what we want to do.

    Thanks!!!!

  5. I remember reading somewhere that General Admission went up from 20.00 to 25.00. However, this price is not listed on the website. I am not interested on lunch or drinks because my ship will be in port from 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm.

  6. I have noticed price changes on shore excursions. When a price went down I cancelled my currently booked excursion and rebooked it at the cheaper price. Also, once I got on the ship, the same shore excursions I booked ahead of time were approximately $20 or so dollars more per person so I highly recommend booking before you board.
