  1. Hi, a friend told me that you get free wine by the glass and soft drinks at the main dinning room and the buffets even though you do not have a drink package. Is this for an specific experience only?

    Thanks in advance,

  2. We were just on the Seaside for the 24-31 March sailing with an 8 and 9 year old. It was our third MSC cruise and we were hoping the Seaside club would be better than the ones on our Baltic and Med cruises, which the kids didn't like at all. While the clubs looked really good and there were more English speaking kids, I'm sorry to say that we were disappointed once again. My kids are not timid at all and quite social, but they only used the clubs for a few hours and only when we asked them to go. They had almost no interest on their own.

For one thing, there is a vaguely Lego theme in the clubs and a few Lego building tables, but that's the extent of the Lego theming, which disappointed my son. If the kids aren't interested in the group game or dance party going on, there's not much to do except a few video game stations. My kids complained that there was no system for taking turns or sharing, just to hang around and try to grab a controller when someone left. I don't know if this was really the case, but that was their perception.

The policies at the club are also a bit odd. My husband was told that only 20 kids would be taken to the buffet at 7pm for dinner and the rest would have to stay behind. When I tried to drop off my daughter the next day at 630 after we had eaten an early dinner I was told that she couldn't come at all since we hadn't signed up for dinner. When I explained that she had already eaten they said that the club was closed during the dinner hour. This wasn't stated anywhere on the information. Another time we went by at 1pm on a sea day and were told that the kids were doing an activity in the theatre and couldn't be signed in our out at that time. It all seemed very random.

But while the clubs were a disappointment, there were some other great facilities for kids on the ship. The water play area and slides are great. My kids enjoyed the Dream, Wizard and Peter Punk shows. The dinner service was also quicker than on most ships we've been on, which may not be for everyone but it's great with easily bored children.

So, compared to Disney and Norwegian, I have to say that MSC's kids clubs don't add up for our family. But the money we saved paid for enough gelato to make up for it in my kids' eyes!

    LOL..is the gelato that good??

  3. When we were on the Divina last year we were able to fill out some of the kids club paperwork in advance. We printed it off the website and brought it with us already filled out. It really saved a lot of time signing the kids up for the kids club. We are going on the Seaside in March and I no longer see that sign up sheet on the website. Is it gone, or am I missing it? Does anyone know what Im talking about?:)

Hi, yes, I know what papers you are talking about. Are you back yet? Any info on the kids club and kids food will be appreciated.

  4. work perfectly for opening doors...my 8 year old grandson became the expert in opening the yacht club entrance door for us and cabin door. He also had no problems with any purchases using wrist band. I did try to locate him using the msc me app.... It showed where i was but never picked him up... I assumed they would automatically turn that feature on...pretty sure i ok'd when getting him the wrist band. However i never was charged for the service so i guess not.

    thanks!!!

  5. Western I think? The one with Ocho Rios and Cozumel. I'm going to try and take lots of pictures and do a review when I get back, especially of the kids stuff. I've been looking around, but haven't been able to find a lot of specifics about stuff in the different kids clubs or how the cruise works with toddlers. Have fun on your trip!

You too!!! I will be waiting for your review. My kids are 9 and 11 but interested in everything kids related.

  6. The bracelets/bands are $5 each if not in YC or Aurea where they are included. You purchase them at the future cruise/technology desk in the centrum area.

Hi, thanks for your response. Do they really locate the kids? How about opening the cabin door?

  7. I haven't gone on Seaside yet, but I've been asking these same questions myself, and this is what I've found out:

    1. Not sure, I've been reading different things about them, I think it depends on your level.

    2. We also are getting Fantastica, and from what I can figure, you can use them for the ice cream.

    3. You don't need the internet package to use the MSC app, but as others have said, there is no chat feature. If you want to chat, you'll have to go through facebook or gmail or whatever, and so yeah, you'll need the internet package.

    4. I've seen on other posts that once aboard ship, the digital photo package goes up to 199, so book online first!

5-6 If you're going to do bowling and the zip line, I'd recommend getting the package on the ship where you buy $50 worth of entertainment credit and get $15 free. You can't get it on the website, but when I called customer service, I could prebook it over the phone.

When do you travel? Maybe if you go before me (I'm on June 2nd) I can hit you up with my own questions when you get back! lol

OMG, you are hilarious, I very glad that you took the time to answer me. THANKS!!!! Unfortunately, I am on the June 23rd sailing.. you are going first... so please send me all your tips :) Are you doing Eastern or Western?

  8. 1 - I can't remember.

2 - Yes. They are included.

3 - The MSC app does not have a chat feature.

4 - It includes the pictures taken of you by the ship photographers

5 - I don't recall there being a need to reserve lanes. However I am sure you can just go to the desk when the lanes are open and talk to the attendant

6 - I believe so. It wasn't available for prepurchase when we cruised.

    Thanks for the quick response!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Hi, I have read many reviews on the Seaside. However, I still have some questions for a first timer.

1- Bracelets/Bands, how much are these? Where can I get them?

2- I have the Fantastica experience and wondering if Ice Cream from the Ice Cream/coffee shop is included on the kids vouchers?

3-The MSC app. Do I need to buy an internet package to be able to communicate via text with other friend onboard the Seaside?

4- I saw a photo package online for $99.00. Does this include all the pictures we take during the week?

5- How can I reserve for the bowling?

6- Do I have to be on board to buy the zipline package?

    Thanks in advance!!!!!

  10. Can you confirm that this arrangement only affects passengers with the Bella experience who choose not to eat in the MDR? My wife and I are booked in a Fantastica balcony at the late dinner seating so I doubt this will be an issue for us. Thank you.

Hi, I am new to MSC experiences, and wondering what is the difference in dinning under Bella and Fantastica?

    Thanks in advance!

  11. I had the fantastica experience last summer on the Divina. The adults and the kids received drink vouchers. So, if you're 4 passengers in the cabin, you ought to get a total of 48 drink vouchers. However, the kids' vouchers cannot be used for alcohol.

I am not sure which drink package the vouchers compare to but I personally never had a problem getting any alcoholic beverage I ordered with the vouchers. I never ordered top shelf liquor - I assume it wouldn't be included. The adult vouchers could be used for alcoholic beverages, nonalcoholic beverages, ice cream, coffee specialties. The kid vouchers could not be used for alcoholic beverages.

Hi, can the kids voucher be used for icecream? Also, I read that the dinners are all inclusive, meaning that wine, beer and soft drinks are included. Is this aside from the vouchers or do I have to use the voucher for ordering wine on the dining room? thanks in advance!
