  1. The rules are two bottles per room. However, my experience is they don't look at who is together. So at most they look for two per person.
  2. They aren't too picky about check in times. It's more of a suggestion. Some people just put a luggage tag on their case of water and let it go with their luggage. If you want to carry it on yourself, you may or may not get asked to open the bag. It depends on security that day (i.e. there may be heightened security about people smuggling alcohol) I usually say other's experience might not reflect your own. Be prepared.
  3. If you manage to connect with the same airline, you at least won't have to get most of the "hassle", since you just get off one plane, wait in the waiting area and then get on the other. No having to recheck your bags or any of the other issues.
  4. Just to add to my previous comment, our British Isles cruise was the only cruise I have done where at so many ports the local band has come out to play for the ship leaving. The cruise director (Topi Ylonnen (sp?) ) also arranged for local musicians to come on board for afternoon entertainment while the ship was in port.
  5. Go ahead if you want, but I'll just point out that here is nothing wrong with the ship's water, but brining a brita filter and your own refillable is also an option many choose. Also many people have had success with buying pack of water somewhere on their way to the cruise port and sticking a luggage tag on it.
  6. From past posts on the subject, I would suggest you go and see the loyalty desk and ask. They *might* be able to get you updated seapass cards to get you access to "next level" items. However, they won't be able to get you the updated coupons since those are loaded at the beginning of the cruise.
  7. Just for something a little different, keep an eye on the schedule to see if there will be a sushi making class. We did that once and it was a lot of fun and you get a decent amount sushi out of it. Plus you can't complain if you were the one who made it.๐Ÿ˜„
  8. I did one similar back in 2013, see my signature below. It was a one-off out of Copenhagen, so don't know if they do it any more, I'll see if I can find anything. One of the better cruises I've done. Can't remember the exact stops, but I know we did Cobh, Inverness, Dover and at least two more. I know we did tours of Loch Ness and the Guiness Museum, so whatever ports might be close to there. Update: RC has a spot for British Isle cruises on the website, but there is nothing there. I can't post the link, but it's <rc website>/british-isles-cruises
  9. I've had cases where they had to do MTD on a day by day basis if it was really busy. Best thing you do is like was said, go see the maitre'd at the MDR as soon as you can when you get on board. Usually they can set you up at the same table every night. However if you want to sit by yourself they'll probably have to put you at a 2-top to save the larger tables for bigger groups.
  10. Slightly off topic, but the best place to sit to get the best balance is as close to the sound board as possible. Since that's the person who controls the volumes. It's usually near the back of the lower level. Until the volume get lowered, for adults, the basic disposable earplugs you can buy at the pharmacy do the trick and are fairly discreete. For the littler ones, over the ear hearing protection is sometimes a good thing to bring along.
  11. Thanks for sharing your collective experiences everyone. The reason for the big price difference may be the Disney cruise is on the Dream and it seems to have premium pricing being a new ship. So we are booked for Royal once again and are going to visit Disney World for a couple of days while we are down visiting family at Christmas.
  12. Yes, it's the Wish. We are going to be in Florida in the summer anyway, so were thinking of adding a cruise on, so has to be this specific week and it's like $6,000. Our 6 year old knows the main characters, but is more into the Disney and Pixar movies. Cars is a favourite. We already have booked to visit Disney World while we are down to visit family at Christmas. So that may be enough. My own observation from watching people's Disney cruise vacation videos on Youtube is it feels very much the same, but with Disney Characters.
  13. Done many RC cruises as you can see in my sig. Comparing RC vs Disney. Same dates, 4 nights, private island and a stop at Nassau. Balcony room. The mouse is 3x the price. Have the best and brightest here tried? For a six year old, is it worth paying the extra for a one-off Disney cruise?
  14. Depends on how you are with cramped quarters. You've done this before so you have a rough idea of the size of the rooms. At least the balcony is handy for a place to wait while people are getting dressed. Many people say their older kids enjoy having their own room so they have a bit more freedom to come and go as well as a second bathroom. You'll just have to book one adult in each room and then sort out keys when you get there.
