  1. We got into port at 7am so I don't know how it would work in your situation. He did adjust his times based on our arrival and departure though so I'm sure he would do something similar for your itenerary as well. Just send him and email and ask. I did and had a reply within a couple of days.

I emailed him yesterday and he said we'd get into port at 10:30 and off the ship starting at 11 and that they'd wait for us. I'm nervous though...did they wait for you? What time did you get back? Thanks for answering :)

  2. Well, it would be kind of tight but nothing you can't handle. The king would be in the middle center of the room -facing door and the bunks above them attached to the wall OR we've had the bed on the right side ( with the bunk above where the bunk covers the king bed where you'd lay your head ) and that gave us more floor room. The bunks will be up during the day so maybe not much room to sit and hang out in the room but I'm sure you won't be there much anyway!

  3. I was thinking about bringing the iPad for some entertainment for my little ones during dinner or in the cabin at times and I wasn't sure if it was something that would work or if we'd have to pay to connect to their wireless. I just got the iPad so I'm not quite knowledgable with it yet but I'm assuming for them to do anything we would have to be connected with the ship's wifi, right? So it might not be a good idea at all?

  4. That sounds like something my mother would say. ;):) I think I would contact whoever you booked through and see what cabins are available to move to, keeping them side by side. Then tell her that you found a better location and it is cheaper. Not knowing what cabin numbers you have it looks like the 6L's are forward which would be more movement so you might be able to sell the move on the basis that the new location would be less movement than in the forward ones.

I tried this but since I'm 5 in a room - they said there aren't any more available for this and her being a 4 in a room being side by side unless she also had 5 or I also had 4. I dont know how that works but I've talked to multiple people who said the same thing when I've called any time the rate changed.

  5. We are booked in Feb on the Dream- two deluxe oceanview rooms side by side. There are several price breaks for the 6L room but they insist we'd have to move 13 or so rooms down to a 6N cabin. They said they are all the same but there are not going to be any more price drops for a 6L cabin. It is what it is and we don't want to move but I'm just curious- if there isn't anything different.....what's the difference? Why can't I get the discount on the 6L room?

  6. Went on Allure two years ago with my Sis and BIL. They said all cruise long, "oh man, the kids would love that!" So they just took them on Allure last week and has an absolute blast. They did the 5 in 1 interior configuration and still enjoyed themselves. By the end, kids we're beginning to struggle as any would spending that much time together in close quarters but they still loved it. Her kids are 10, 6, and 4. We are going on Oasis next year, my DW and 7mo old DS. He won't be able to enjoy all those kid things, but are excited to bring him anyway and enjoy our first family vacation. Good luck to you!

See? That's so me too- everything I'd be saying," Oh wow- I wish the kids could see that!" Hmmm......something to think about. I wish I could go online and price it out though, just to get an idea!

  7. Never sailed with kids, ours were 18 and 20 when we took our first cruise. But Oasis has wonderful things for all ages. So it depends on how old they are, etc.

As for "matching prices," yes if the price drops before final payment you should get it. I say that because if the price drop is for "new bookings only" then you won't. But generally you can get most drops, and if it occurs after final payment you may be able to upgrade for little more. But again, depends on the rate rules. But the worst they can do is say no.

There are some suites that can easily hold 5 if the kids are young. Aquasuite is 2 bedroom, the Presidential Suite holds 8, etc. I suspect you can call either your TA if you use one, or RCI directly and talk to them about it. Another option is 2 connecting cabins with an adult in each and 2 kids in one and 1 kid in the other. You can always change keys and set up whatever sleeping arrangements you want.

    Great ideas-thanks!

  8. My husband and I were looking into going on the Oasis next year but I have a few questions since we are normally CCL cruisers.

First, we were thinking of bringing our little ones ( 3 ) and on CCL we can put 5 in a cabin with the Deluxe Oceanview rooms ( or on some of the older ships...an inside cabin ) but when I try to go on RCI website, it won't allow me to add 5 people to a room. Are there any rooms that allow this?

If we book now, do they match the price if the price goes down between now and the final payment?

We were strongly thinking of leaving the kids home but I would hate to go on the Oasis and feel like everything I was seeing was, " OH man, the kids would have loved THAT!" and regret not taking them. YOUR opinion...worth it to bring the kids?
