No notification from Carnival that anything had changed with regard to the items in the room. Like you it wasn't a big enough deal to go stand in that long customer service line.

again they have a guest services desk you could have simply asked any questions at, and as Diamond it is a pretty quick trip usually.  Just saying.

    Hi 🙂

Don't forget about the (Dedicated Phone Line) at Guest Services that SO MANY passengers overlook. The dedicated phone line is picked up quickly & there is no waiting in line to ask a simple question.

Hi, just wondering if kids under 12 are still charged the $38 pp fee?

    Hi @sprinkles925🙂

Child rate is $38 at Bonsai Tappenyaki, same as adult rate.

Some Carnival speciality restaurants have children menus & lower rates for 11 and under. However Bonsai is $38.

I forgot to order the distilled water for my husbands c-pap machine and everything is closed. Does anyone know if I can call once I’m on the ship to like guest services or room service?

    Hi @BRLady31🙂

    To directly answer your question:

Carnival carries distilled water which can be purchased either pre-cruise or once on board.

  5. There's plenty to enjoy when staying on the ship at port. Create your own personal sea day.

Enjoy a quieter ship with less people & lines.

Lounge in the sun, relax, recharge & nap.

Take advantage of the port day Spa specials.

Less people at the fitness center; get your favorite machine.

    Enjoy a late breakfast.

If available, self service laundry with no waiting.

With less people you can get terrific photos/video.

    Tour the ship.

Less people on the jogging track.

Look for hosted activities such as trivia & so on.

Pools, hot tubs, water slides, mini golf, ping ping & other various activities.

Of course there are many more options.

The bottom line & main aspect is that you get to enjoy the ship in a way that you wouldn't usually be able to do on a sea day.

For reference, we were in 9370 (right above grand central) and loved it - close walk to many popular areas and no noise issues that we noticed (but we spend very little time in the room).

    Hi @csm5986142🙂

Cabin 9370 is directly above Bonsai Sushi restaurant. Not directly above the entertainment venue that is more on the starboard side of Grand Central. Take a peek at the deck plans.

Booked midship Balcony on level 9 so it's in the middle

    Hi @Clearwater🙂

    What is the cabin number?

There are cabins above you (on deck 10) but there isn't cabins below you (Deck 8) for a sound buffer.

Take a look at the deck plans to see what is directly below your cabin.

My only concern would be having a cabin directly above Grand Central's 3-deck high atrium entertainment space located (mid ship) on decks 6, 7 & 8.

A cabin directly above that location would possibly be prone to hearing music below, atrium activities, Grand Central show rehearsals at odd hours, & so on.

Bag was labeled so fingers crossed.

    Hi @love4monsters🙂

Thank goodness your bag was labeled.

Was this documented & reported at the terminal??

For decades, we always attach seperate, extremely secure luggage tags, other than air line or cruise line luggage tags, that contain only our (Name, Address & Cell Phone) contact information.

And (inside) each suitcase, we also always place a piece of paper on top of our clothing, containing the same information.

Please come back to your post here with updates, when possible.

Good luck & my fingers are crossed for you as well!

I have been looking at the deck plans for the Vista for our upcoming cruise.  I do not see  the coffee shop Java Blue anywhere.  Is it under a different name?  Can someone please confirm that there is a coffee shop and where it is?  Thanks in advance.

    Hi @Vinlin06🙂

JavaBlue Cafe is located on Promenade Deck 5, mid ship.

  10. Hi 🙂

Cove balconies are certainly a personal preference. They are not for everyone.

There is of course many various pros & cons.

    I'll list just a few...

    Pros:

-- Cove balconies are sometimes bigger than normal balconies.

-- More private thanks to solid sides & sometimes lifeboats above. Less sound from neighbors.

    -- They are more shaded.

-- Low deck position gives close-up views of the sea.

-- Quick to get on & off ship.

-- Cove balconies can sometimes be cheaper.

    Cons:

-- Some passengers might not like the enclosed nature of Cove balconies & the smaller opening.

-- Balcony can get wet & salty.

-- Might be too shady for some people.

-- Further walking to many areas of action on ship.

-- Balcony may be off limits in bad weather, high winds & high waves. Storm door will be closed, covering your balcony door.

Can anyone tell me when is/was the dry dock for Vista or where I can find that info?

    Hi @Megan_Strick🙂

    I typed into Google:

    Carnival Vista Dry Dock

    And found this:

The Carnival Vista is scheduled to go to dry-dock in 2024.

Cruises have been cancelled from January 7, 2024 through & including February 10, 2024 per letters sent to guests.

Can the OS Balcony partitions (dividers) be open to your neighbor's OS balcony cabin (of course, with their permission)?

    2 hours ago, joyce&bob said:

Doesn't anybody know?  Usually they do and we just ask room steward to do it, just wondering if this is available on the MardiGras.

    Hi @joyce&bob🙂

    Yes, it can be done.

    1) Click on the link below

    2) Then click on your deck

    3) Then locate your cabin & see which cabin your balcony partition opens to.

    Click on this link:

    https://help.goccl.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5687/~/mardi-gras-(md)-staterooms-and-ship-features

You & your neighbor(s) will have to go to guest services together (to finalize the request) if the stateroom steward cannot accommodate the request; especially since your unknown neighbor(s) will not be traveling with you.

It's an easy request. Passengers do this all of the time. However many passengers of course want their privacy.

The hardest part for some, is actually knocking on neighbor(s) door(s) to ask if they want to share balconies.

    Have a terrific sailing!
