  1. You realize you're saying that 50% of the people that fly in on the day of cruise end up having to use their insurance.:confused::confused:

    Please don't dissect every word.

Simply meaning that there is a 50/50 chance of something going wrong or everything going smoothly.

50% chance in regards to this individual & circumstances that may or may not surround them the day of their sailing.

I'm not referring 50% of people that fly in the day of.

    :)

  2.

Others that have had success in the past flying the day of a sailing is irrelevant.

The bottom line is; it is a risk.

A lot of planning & money go into a cruise.

The risk is a personal decision & many factors have to be weighed in.

Very happy to hear you have insurance.

Flying in the day of a sailing will leave you with a 50% chance of having to use it.

Good luck, I hope everything works out on the day of your cruise!

    :)

  3. Hi,

Stateroom 9423 on the Breeze is under the Lido Marketplace Buffet.

To be exact, there are tables directly above your cabin.

You should be fine in that location; rather have buffet tables/chairs above than having pool deck chairs above.

    :)

  4. Hi Jp,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience on the Breeze. Little things do indeed add up.

However, I am confused about a couple issues.

When you were in the steakhouse, why did you choose to sit there for 20+ minutes with empty water glasses & stacked plates??

After 5 minutes I would have simply raised my hand, catching the attention of my server, and nicely uttering the words, "excuse me'..

The stateroom refrigerator. Easy solution. Empty contents onto counter & ask stateroom steward to remove.

Sorry to hear that you will never sail Carnival again over the very minor issues you experienced aboard the Breeze.

Sometimes people can let the small things roll off their shoulders & manage them properly as they occur.

And sometimes people let the small things continue to nag at them, permitting them to chip away at one's attitude and cruise experience.

Even with the minor issues you experienced, I still see far more positives than negatives.

Unfortunately, the small issues won, and the positives that outweighed the negatives were permitted to gain weight.

Could you imagine if they would have lost your luggage; or not offered you a steakhouse refund, or additional bottles of crappy wine, or another steakhouse reservation, or the chocolate covered strawberries, or any free photos at all, or not have acknowledged any of your issues whatsoever.

Thank you for your review Jp.

  5.

    You stated that:

A passenger purposefully threw TWO lounge chairs off over the back of deck 10 that crashed on our balcony on deck 6 (gouge marks were quite visible, along with the lounge chairs on the back railing near the water line).

Did you take a photo of this incident??

If 2 lounge chairs came crashing down on my balcony, causing damage to my balcony, I certainly would have taken photo's of it.

  6. Yeah, I'm not sure why but over half the posts I make disappear, maybe it's something I said? Na, no way it could be that..............

I've seen many of your comments deleted by the moderators because you

often say something that is against the guidelines of this forum..

  8.

    This.....

Different ports & ships have different methods of putting your cash

on your Sign & Sail account.

Some do it at check-in before boarding, some require you to go to guest

services once you board the ship, while others now have a kiosk where you

can feed your cash into a machine to add to your account.

I'd just inquire at check-in as to your options for that particular cruise.

All are simple & easy. Enjoy!

  9. Carnival announces change in balcony smoking policy 9 July 2014 to go in

    effect 9 October 2014 - 3 months notice

If Carnival would have delayed this policy change an additional 3 months

the change would have taken place far too close to spring break 2015. Could

    you imagine the nightmare.

Put it to you this way, it would be less of a nightmare to have a ship full of

Cruise Critic members than a ship full of spring breakers with crew members

trying to enforce a new smoking policy only a couple months old......

    :)

  10.

Polls like this, only give smokers more of a bad name. Your poll does

opposite of what is intended. Smokers just need to deal with the facts,

that their habit, is no liked, and they just need to go to a private place,

    and puff away.

I agree! They are embarrassing themselves at this point. Moreover, they are

becoming an embarrassment to this website.

    The new smoking policy https://www.goccl.com/~/media/Files/Irman/bookccl/shipboard_knowledge/SmokingPolicy.htm

is here to stay. They need to GET OVER IT, they need to ADAPT and

    move forward.

    :)

  11. Thank you Carnival!! We haven't had a balcony cabin in a very long time!

While the smokers enjoy coffee & a cigarette on their balcony, we (used)

to enjoy eating breakfast on our balcony. Got so tired of using our balcony

around the schedule of a smoker using theirs, we switched to inside cabins

years ago. Our next voyage will most certainly be in a balcony cabin!

Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!

    :)

  12. when I tell others who cruise that have never cruised on carnival that I sail with Carnival most immediately say they would never cruise with Carnival, due to the excessive partying that goes on.

I dont drink and have never noticed this...and I would notice it if it was around me...I just dont get it.

I think it is the 3 & 4 day cruises that eventually gave Carnival their party reputation.

Having said that, Carnival's reputation could & would be much, much, much worse if their ships consisted of only Cruise Critic members..

  13. Dry dock has been cancelled for 2012.

    Hi Mulege,

You stated that in another post. The cancellation of the 2012 dry dock is indeed a rumor.

There is a gap in her itinerary from Oct 28- Nov 4..

Also, I wrote to John Heald at Carnival and was informed that the Splendor will most certainly

still have a dry dock & receive the 2.0 upgrades.

The dry dock definitely has not been cancelled. Please tell us where you are getting this

information, because it is not listed anywhere, other than you.

    :)

  14. We just returned from the Carnival Dream June 23, 2012 cruise. We always have a balcony and the higher on the ship the better. We were given a stateroom on the 9th floor mid ship and we were pleased until we spent the first night. Our room was under the pool area. Our sleep was impossible as there were people moving chairs and tables all night long. At mid night I thought It would stop because people would go to bed after the movie but not so. Then the staff doing their jobs moved every table and chair to mop under it. We complained but there were no other rooms to moved to and I know there were all the rooms on both sides of the ship from front elevators to mid elevators with the same problem. While the neighbors on each side of us were very quiet so they must have lots of insulation between us the ceiling must have none. So if you are going on the Dream stay away from the 9th floor mid ship!!!!!!!:(

The Carnival Dream's Vista Deck 9 should be considered in two sections. One has cabins on the deck above it, and the

other one has the pool, sunbathing, and buffet dining area above it.

The quieter areas are cabins 9201 through 9268 on the forward part of the Dream's Vista Deck, which has cabins on the deck above it.
