  1. When my card was swiped my photo came up on the screen.   The risk of using someone else’s card is for all individuals to have the packages cancelled and be liable for all previous drinks.   Then there’s the cheating ethical side too.

We are also booked on the Edge TA in April and the Reflection TA in November. One way airfare for both were "sky high" for both transatlantics, but a round trip ticket was unbelievable in price.

    Purchased yesterday 01/07/19.

Here is our route; Heathrow to New York on Virgin Atlantic on 5/13/19 and then New York to Heathrow on VA 11/04/19, onto Barcelona via British Airways. The price for two was less than a  Choice air ticket for one from Heathrow to New York.

    Two birds one stone!!

For those who purchased a round trip and do not use the second half, I wonder if there is any future penalty for doing it that way? Otherwise I can see that is the way to purchase tickets for a one way flight in the future.

    Hal

There is no future penalty at all.   If I book a return that I don’t immediately intend to use, I book for the furthest out I can, usually 6 months.  I then call the airline several months later and ask for an extension, which I have received on several occasions.

  3. I feel we dodged one this time... Norwegian cancelled the route into FLL and changed it to fly into MIA which meant we were able to get our money back from Norwegian.  We got flights with BA which were not significantly more than Norwegian.   The only drawback is that we now fly into MIA which I despise.  We are renting a car at MIA which in their defense, is a slick process..

I think they meant they are booking a cruise in march, not sailing in march.

But we are on the silhouette TA (april 14) and very few else are, lol the aqua cabins have something like 90 open. Prices will drop like a rock after final payment in all likelihood

Yup...there are well over 450 balcony cabins available representing about 1/3 of the ship!  It’s  going to be a giveaway!

wendychloecruiser - this was the best part.  There were only about 25 paying guests, which is their capacity.  Their new catamaran easily accomodates that.  There are nets on the front, which can hold a lot of people as well. They had a staff of 4 or 5 on board that actually went in the water to supervise as well.  It was an excellent experience.  Deidre ("Dee") and her staff easily fed everyone a delicious local jerk chicken dish and kept the rum punch going on the return trip.  Let me know if you have any questions...

Thank you.   We are booked for April.   There is nothing I dislike more than a “cattlemaran”  of a ship tour.

Personally, I have never found enough of a bargain to buy liquor on board that makes it worth lugging it home.

Alcohol in Canada is significantly more expensive than in the U.S so it is very often worth lugging home.

If you are calling the 0845 number don't forget you are being charged 7p per minute plus network charge (in the UK)!

No incentive for them to answer quickly.

Now I don’t know if you pay for these prefixes here in the U.K. but check them out.   The numbers are alternates for Celebrity and I haven’t tried them recently.

  8. If first you don’t succeed...try, try again...

When the promo first appeared I checked the Manage My Booking and the “up to 50% off” banner was there but there was no discount so I presumed as my luck would go that my TA cruise wasn’t included.  However, I called the Captains Club to enquire and “Ashley” thought that was strange and would get back to me.  I never did hear from her but when I rechecked this morning...THERE IT WAS...50% off.

    Happy Dance.

  9. This is just to all those who haven’t been in a suite and are “worried” about the potential of not being satisfied in the future of being in a lowly balcony or the like... Don’t be.    I haven’t had any trouble tolerating a smaller cabin.   I actually “sat” in our suite bathroom a little longer just to take in the view...can you say stupid?   Sure...nice bathroom but get a grip!   How long do you spend in there?!   As for Michael’s Club, that too was nice but inside and no view and I much prefer otherwise.  I have enjoyed Blu over Luminae but every cruise is different so that could have been an aberration.

Soooo....other than an inside cabin (sorry, just can’t tolerate) I am just so thrilled to be on ship going anywhere and for the longer, the better.
