  1. You only need the eta if you arrive to Canada by air if you arrive in a cruise ship you don't need it.

Yes, but if you were delayed in Canada by illness, I was merely thinking that it may be needed. As I said, a hypothetical unlikely scenario.

  2. If, for some reason you had to disembark in Victoria, you would then need an eTA. I know it’s a stretch that you’ll require it but for $7CDN (~£4) it could be a bargain time saver. It’s also valid for 5 years or when your passport expires.

  3. We were just off of the Anthem and we are D+.the problem with the D+ lounge was that it was on deck 12 AFT,it is the longest we ever had to walk to get to a lounge. The lounge itself was very nice, but being to FAR aft no one was going there. The most we seen in there was 10 members. The room hold maybe 50-60 members. The one night the Captain came in and ask the concierge where everyone was,her answer was that it is so out of the way they don't come. The D lounge was on deck 5 next to the theater and easy to get to.

Surely people can’t be that lazy. It’s not THAT far...you’re on a ship ffs.

  4. I didn't realize that used to be a charge. Just out of curiosity, do you recall what the cost was?

It was $35. One time fee. It was circa 1990’s. When X did away with the Founder Classic, I was hoping that “we” would get a few extra bonus captains club points but I guess we got ripped off. :o

  5. ?? WORTH IT??? It doesn’t cost you anything! Celebrity doesn’t have to give us squat. Personally, I appreciate any little bonuses.

The 240 minutes, laundry and breakfast location are my favs.

  6. Reminds me of a story... I hope you don’t mind....

We had just left a small restaurant in the Florida keys when my mother realised she had left her sweater. We immediately went back to the restaurant and I ran in and asked the waitress about it. She said, and I quote, “you mean the white one with the pretty buttons?” And I said “Yes, that’s the one.” And she said “No, haven’t seen it.” Never did get it back.

  7. Sounds like the OP already has a passport so your unsolicited commentary is preaching to the choir;). Personally I've travelled this big blue marble most of my adult life without a passport because it wasn't needed, so I don't hold passports in the same thrall as others. I live 8 miles from the border and since I have something that will work other than a passport I use that instead of getting my passport from the safe deposit box.

Out of curiosity other than within a dot on that big blue marble, where have you been that you haven’t needed a passport? I suppose military?

  8.

If 65Million cups are consumed a day, that would be a little less than 24Billion a year. Sorry, the mathematician in me wouldn’t let that go!!

    Den

Oops. I don’t often mess up on basic math. Thank you.

  9. Do you know why the Brits drink so much Tea

I believe it goes back to the British Empire in the 18th century when Britain controlled production in the subcontinent and it’s distribution from China to India.

It is somehow calculated that about 65 MILLION cups of the stuff are consumed DAILY. (That’s 60+ BILLION cups a year). Though not in the U.K., I think my mother is responsible for 64.8 million.

The population of the U.K. is coincidental about 66 million.

  10. I always SEEM to get the best deals when I wait for my favourite large TA to have a “special” promo where they will throw in a little something extra. Sometimes the perks are significant. They usually send out a “preregistration” email. Though it doesn’t contain what the actual promo is, I have called and if the rep has been notified by their managers, they are forthcoming with the information.

  11. “Since we're only paying $500 for a balcony I'm sure we can swing that. Get the full experience and range of this line before we get to take a break in St. Thomas and head straight for the Golden Arches, haha. “

“We're not foodies and go to the buffet anyways, but still not good news to hear.”

“I've never had a scallop and curry smells gross, so maybe this food is just too fancy for us. I'm more of a meat and potatoes person with too many years of greasy spoon diners under my belt as a former truck driver. Tell me that there's a Waffle House on board and we'd be talking.”

“We like Applebees, I won't lie. We've been eating healthier at home with beans soups and salads, and lots of PB&J sandwiches with honey. We just like tasty food when we go out and enjoy ourselves to the fullest. I'm not against trying some new dishes as long as it's not weird, but we like our comfort food options too.”

“This is my section right here, but where's the chicken tenders and union rings?”

“I don't do the fancy critters but I'm sure they have a children's menu. I'm like a big kid anyways but don't think I won't enjoy a gourmet burger with Kobe or Wagyu meat on a high end bun.”

“I love me some steak sandwiches too. Ham & Cheese melts, Pastrami, Ribs, Corn on the Cob, Chili, Tritip, Philly Cheese Steak, Taters, Pizza, spicy chicken.”

    Yeah...definitely foodies....

  12. Booking a B2B with a TA will improve the chances of getting the same cabin which for me is usually ideal. Then there’s no mucking around on turn around day. I know it’s not a huge deal but just less thing to deal with allowing a full day of wherever you may be.
