  1. I can take a guess - the GOC restrictions for employees within government spaces are still in place. There are limits on number of people within any government space due to covid (just look at the massive line ups for passport interviews), so in-person interviews would require 1) opening the space 2) determining "safe" number of employees and clients within the space at any given time and 3) identify/post number of interviews available. Not sure how the US agents would fit into the mix. Similar to the passport office, they would also likely have to hire security.
  2. https://www.onlinevisaaustralia.org/eta/canadian-citizens/ for Australia as your purpose is to go on a cruise! I think broberts link is the official one for Australia though
  3. Did anyone else receive this email from travel.gc.ca. You are receiving this email because you are registered with the Government of Canada's Registration of Canadians Abroad Service. The hurricane season extends from May 15 to November 30. Please share the following important information with all the Canadian citizens in your area. This year again, we anticipate an above normal season and some storms may even form before the official start of the season. This new season will still take place in a context of COVID-19 and precautions are still in order, including for cruises. The 2022 Pacific Hurricane Season forecast is for a total of 14 to 18 named storms, 6-10 hurricanes and 2-4 major hurricanes. The 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season forecast is for a total of 19 named storms, 9 hurricanes and 4 major hurricanes
  4. I recently used this feature while sitting at the airport in Mexico waiting to board our flight home to Vancouver. More useful than playing solitaire! 😁 The declaration was easy, no line ups at YVR to get through customs, although DH and I did have issues with the photo mechanismm of the new machines in YVR. The old ones tilted up and down, told you to move closer or move back - new ones don't tilt so I stood on my tippee toes and DH had to crouch. 🙄
  5. Heard today - the Minister of Transport blames "rusty travellers" on the airport delays. An insult to myself who has recently travelled, so I invited the Minister to contact me so I could explain how Airport Managent gave a public "talking to" the CATSA agent for not redirecting the 2+ hour line up of people to the other security gates...
  6. I make every effort to avoid YYZ, regardless of the carrier, whenever we can't get a direct flight (which is very common from Vancouver). Calgary = great, Montreal = no problem, Seattle, LA and Denver = sure!
