  1. Going from San Francisco to London for a British Isles cruise. I have a suit bag on rollers but I may try to get us into just one suitcase each for this trip. Might be worth the $100 to have everything waiting for me. a little worried about the shoes, however.

  2. when you book a cruise and then go into the personalizer, it does not show the actual date for each port but rather starts with day 1 and goes on. you have to count in order to figure out the actual date in a specific port. I though I had found a place once that listed actual date but don't know where that was.

This is especially important if you are booking private tours.

    Thanks

  3. Plus 7 days is not enough if you are traveling any distance to ge to the cruise. Stay at the Chateau Fronteac or if you can't afford it, stay on top the hill. That walk up the hill was a killer. They do have a funicula but it would have been much btter to be staying at the top of the hill. Lower area is a tourist trap with crap made in China at High prices.

  4. On our recent Canada New England cruise we booked a good obstructed view cabin for $1199. Balconies were $1,000 more. Balconies were not selling weel though outside were sold out. A week before the cruise we were offered the Balcony for $199 p person. We gladly took it.

My current British Isles cruise seemd to have all mid ship balconies sold out, almost. we booked a balcony. We are hoping for an upgrade to a Mini suite at the last minute but maybe not likely as the mini's seemd to seel out.

  5. The ship used to be a destination for me but with the decline of the quality and selection of food, it really is not a place I want to go anymore just to be on the ship. Have booked a 12 day British isles cruise for August and that has great appeal because of where it goes and the food is ok, just ok.

Living in San Francisco, I would have to pay airfare to get to LA and then have the joy of visiting Ensenada. No thanks. There is nothing there but a really nice winery tour and I have already done that.

Santa Barbara? San Diego? Been there wouldn't take a cruise just to go there again. If the cruise went up the coast to Oregon and Washington, I would be very interested.

  6. Very frustrating. Nobody like Sabattini's on our recent Emerald cruise. It seems like if you pay extra , they could provide, different, higher quality food. reviews of other lines seem to indicate that their specialty restaurants are really special. when I get the same Lobster tails as the diningroom with no more option for Fresh Maine Lobster, it isn't soemthing I would do aagin. even the deserts were nothing to write hoem about. They seem to feel if they give you alot you will think it is a good value. Not.

  7. We noticed on a recent Emerald cruise in canada that the food was not as good and the choices were very limited.. Still enjoyed the cruise but wish I could afford something better.

They are putting too many people on the ships.

All that being said, I have booked British Isles cruise for next year. No one comes close in the number of Ports. I looked at Crystal but would loose 5 days and pay the same. not willing to make that trade off at this time.Plus I am afraid if i try crystal, I won't want to come back.
