1. Since the birth certificate will have her mother listed and not grandmother, you will have to have the court order allowing guardianship to make sure it all connects.

    FYI

I took a friend of my sons whose mother kept her maiden name and he used his passport. We were pulled aside and had to have the b/c faxed into the pier office showing that she was in fact his mother who signed the authorization document.

  2. from what has been posted online via social media sites, there have been some pictures

(not high quality or well defined) of a signpost indicating a way to skip/bypass the regular

    line.

use of this bypass line will not be welcome by the 7-15 people who are waiting patiently to have their turn.

There is definitely a camaraderie of the people who share the flowrider all week long, and the person who thumbs their nose at this reasonable protocol is not someone I would want to be / see or know.

It is unfortunate that Royal Caribbean advertised "exclusive flowrider access" as a perk of the new suite program and then really haven't delivered. They should have opened up earlier hours (or midday or late) for the few people within the suite program who might use it.

But as their planning team usually does, they've implemented 1st. and then figured out how to deal with it 2nd. Most unfortunate in my opinion.

I know that Andrew will be on an Oasis class ship here in a couple weeks and I will be on one in late September and I will be curious to see how things go.

Maybe Andrew and you can convince the concierges/sports staff to open it up a little early for the suite guest. My husband rides and agrees bypassing the lines will get him angry stares and not look favorable upon.

  3. Just curious - will this cause anyone posting here to cruise either:

    1. Less often

    2. In inside or outside cabins

    3. With other lines

If the answer is no, Royal has no reason to change this back...

I normally sail in suites and try to find a good deal when they pop up. The discount was nice to have. It will make me re think booking last minute cruises and the ones I do book, I will be spending less on board, especially drinking, eating at speciality resturants and gambling. Royal normally got my money that way, now I will be a little less free with spending additional $ on those cruises

  4. We were on the Oasis July 16 sailing and ate inn Coastal Kitchen every night.

They were introducing their new-every-night menus. The food we consumed was some of the best on any ship that we have sailed. Some of the dishes were simple and some of them were complex...all were excellent except one basic pasta dish that was good but not exciting.

So they have changed the menus. Does anyone know if this is the case on Allure.

  5. OK. I give up. Are there or aren't there luggage tags on RCCL anymore?

Sailing for the first time on RCCL (Anthem) in October. This will be our first cruise w/o luggage tags mailed to us in advance. Besides the option of obtaining tags from the porters and wasting time filling them out at the pier, what can you do? How are you supposed to attach a sheet of printed paper to your suitcase?

They started sending out only to suites and pinnacles a few years back and now they supposedly stopped sending them out for suites and pinnacles, but an error in the RC code sometimes pops up the button to order them. So the answer is probably not mailing them out. You now have to print them out from the online check in area and them fold and staple or tape. Many people buy luggage tag holders to slip them into to make it easier. They also will have tags at the port when you drop off your baggage with the porters.

  6. Living in Atlanta, Delta is normally the best option for travel with their locations served and flight times, but I have to give it up to Southwest.

They were able to accommodate the lady I was speaking to for a very reasonable flight cost of 164.00.

Crisis averted. I told her to make sure she contacts Delta, so they can accommodate her on her return flight and not cancel the ticket.

  7. I just looked over all 3 tiers and the only one that didn't look to have any changes was Sea Class....

This is what I had saved from the original flyer

Thank you for this. We sailed in the Sky class in May on Oasis and I tried the thermal suite for the first time and it was amazing. We are sailing on Allure's President's cruise in a Sky class and was looking forward to the thermal suite on a sea day.

I will bring the flyer you posted as proof of the amenity when I booked the cruise just in case.

  8. marti315-What? No suite free cocktail hour? Surely that is incorrect. Suites have gotten that perk for years, way before the "new" suite program started. What about those Suite Lounges on Oasis class ships and Liberty? If suites no longer get the complimentary cocktail hour, why converting from Concierge Lounges to Suite Lounges?

I think she is talking about the beverage cart that would go to all of the star rooms.
