  1. I just went through the online booking process to reserve 2 cabins.

I had 3 folks in one cabin, 2 in the cabin and managed to get the cabin selection so that the rooms were next to other.

Entered the names and all that.

One cabin I used my ViFP number as I am in the room with my two daughters,

Other cabin entered my husbands VIFP number, he's in the room with son.

Added insurance, prepaid gratuities, selected dinner time and PAID deposit.

Reservation only shows ONE cabin-mine with 3 people.

I called Carnival immediately and she can't find any mention of the other cabin.

Asked hubby if he has a reservation sent to his email. -NO

Credit card is pending with only deposit and insurance for cabin for 3.

What is going on? How can they just dump all the information for the other two passengers. I can understand if they reassigned the room but to just drop the other 2 passengers?

    What happened?

Is it possible to reserve two cabins online?

  2. We had two heavy cotton terry cloth robes in our aqua cabin on the Summit. They were fresh but well worn. It seems like there were just a few threads hanging from the edges.

I wore one daily during the cruise and left it hanging on the hook in the cabin. Before the end of the cruise there was another fresh one hanging in the cabin and he didn't take the one that was being used.

  3. CABIN #: 1140 Summit

    DECK #:11th floor

    CLASS: Aqua

    AREA: Aft

    BED NEAR: Bathroom

QUIET?: Yes, except there was something squeeky in the closet and I had to remind myself to prop the safe door closed and make sure everything was tightly shut. There was a bit of rough seas on my sailing.

BALCONY VIEW: Nice view aft. :)

BALCONY SIZE: Huge balcony. You have to walk to the railing to see what is going on.

    WIND A PROBLEM?:no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: yes, it did seem like there was some soot on the chairs but it brushes off easily.

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: BEST CABIN EVER! :) I don't think I want to sail on Summit unless I can have this cabin. The room is just average size but the balcony was the best. There is a posting somewhere on the Celebrity boards so it has become a popular selection. Folks can look down on you from the 12th floor or up from the Sunset bar but other than that it is VERY private. I sat under the overhang most of the time. The bathroom is brand new with no mold or mildew.

  4. The cruisin Moms on the family board thread recommend bringing EVERYTHING with you from home that your baby will need. That includes formula, baby food, baby snacks, lots of diapers, clothing, toys, stroller as well as a blow up baby pool for the baby to splash in. It's a big hassle and a lot of extra luggage if you are flying but babies do need a lot of stuff.

I think the link is under special interest cruises.

  6. I've been having a rough two weeks but I've managed to stay on track. There are so many things to tempt me but I keep thinking about fitting into smaller clothes including my bathing suit.

I've lost a couple more pounds for a total of 11 as of this morning. Only 20 more to go by Christmas.

I pack my lunch and take it everywhere I go. We have a big extended family dinner planned for tomorrow and I already know there is nothing I can eat. I grilled some fish and will have salad to go with it. Dessert will be some 2% fage plain greek yogurt. I love raw vegetables like celery, cucumbers and broccoli so I will pack some of those to chew on while others are enjoying chips etcetera.

I've discovered that salt is not my friend. So I just stay away from anything salty or processed.

I made a pinterest board with lots of inspirational pictures of beautiful women, beautiful beaches and outfits that I would like to wear. :)

  7. I've managed to stay on track for two weeks. Stepped on the scale and I am down 5 pounds. Woo Hoo!

At this rate (2 lbs a week) I should be down an additional 24 pounds by the time the cruise rolls around.

So I've put a curb on purchasing clothing because I don't want to make it okay to stay at this weight. In other words I don't want to buy big stuff. Plus I figure some of my tight stuff that I already own will be fitting better.

Keep it up ladies. We can get there.

  8. Check out Carnival cruiseline at carnival dot com. They sail out of Los Angeles and have 3, 5 and 7 day cruises to the Mexican Riviera.

The prices are very reasonable and you could drive or fly cheaply to the port.

Carnival has a nice kids program and there are lots of opportunities to celebrate your wife's birthday with dinner. If your extended family joins you, there is plenty for them to do as well. Nice cruiseline for all ages.

  9. NO. I don't and won't take my kids out of school to cruise.

    Reasons:

    • My kids like school and don't want to miss.
    • My kids are on sports teams as well as other extra curricula activities which they believe won't function without their participation.
    • My kids prefer to socialize with their friends and not their parents.
    • I prefer socializing with my husband and not my teenager kids.
    • I have plenty of memories and pictures of them from around here.
    • Its my vacation and I need a vacation.
    • My kids tend to think everything revolves around them and it frequently does.
    • I spend enough money on them during the rest of the year. This is my opportunity to pamper myself.
    • They will appreciate their dad and I more when we get back. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that. Maybe.

So the kids stay with Grandma and Grandpa during a holiday week while hubby and I travel.

  10. Sorry to hear about your son, Cruisingfor5.

I managed to get back on track today. Went for a walk at lunchtime. I think the exercise helps as much as cutting back on the food.

I kept all my weight watchers booklets so I just keep track of the points on my own. The meetings do help but since I know the program its only a matter of keeping track of what I eat.
