This is our first time leaving from Bayonne. So do we park and then walk across to the terminal with our luggage and then check in? How does all this work. I thought I read somewhere that they take your luggage from your car and then you park?
-
They have done away with Dynamic Dining. I suspect you are seeing yet another area on the website that has not been corrected.
Yes, I had thought they had done away with that
-
I thought they had done away with the rotation dining whereas you dine in a different dining room each night. I just noticed a message on my reservation that I can view my complimentary dining rotation once onboard.

DH and I used Acadia Park Tour company three years ago. We made advanced reservations and were glad when we got there because they were sold out for the 10 AM tour, which is when we wanted to do the tour. I would advise advance reservations. We enjoyed the tour. Cadillac Mountain was in the clouds so we did not see too much from up on top but nothing the tour company could do about that.
Thanks. We'll play it safe and reserve the tour in advance.

Has anyone used this company? We were going to park at the lot directly across the street from the cruiseport in Bayonne for $20 a day but came across Bayonne Cruise Parking which is about 3 miles away for $11 a day. I read they shuttle you to the ship and back. Want to know if they're reliable or if you have to wait awhile to get picked back up after you get off the ship.

I didn't notice it but I'll read it over again.

Caribbean, so much nicer!

Just booked this ship sponsored tour. Being its 7 hours long, is there a lunch stop? Its from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

DH and I used Acadia National Park Tours in Bar Harbor in 2014. During the peak tourist season, they do two tours a day 10 AM and 2 PM. We did the 10 AM tour and it gave us time to poke around town before we had to be back aboard. We went up Cadillac Mountain, saw the Blowhole and several other stops. You are inside an enclosed bus as compared to the open trolley with Oli's. Sometimes it is pretty cool riding in an open vehicle. The tour lasts 2.5-3 hours. You pick up the tour at Testa's Restaurant that is straight up the hill as you get off at the tender dock. It is $30 a person in 2017 according to their website. We really enjoyed the tour and our guide.
Im interested in that tour. Would you recommend reserving it in advance or buying the tickets when we get there? It said ticket purchase near the dock but reservations fill up fast so wondering if I should order in advance.

Has anyone done the 3 hour Acadia Park tour and Cadillac Mountain with Acadia Park Tour Company? Just wondering how fast they fill up? It says we can purchase tickets in town but reservations are recommended.

DH and I did this tour two years ago. Their buses are old school buses but very dependable. We did the 10 AM tour and had plenty of time to get off the ship and find the pick up place. It is just up the hill as you exit the tender docking area. We really enjoyed our guide and the entire tour. The trip up Cadillac Mountain was great. We had a clear day and could see for miles.
OK thanks. I think we will purchase our tickets when we get off the ship. I read they are for sale at Tesla's restaurant.

Where are you coming from? If the previous port was Canadian, you will have to face customs.
The agents will board the cruise ship early. I would not book a tour before 10AM.
SBtS
Bar Harbor is our first port coming from New Jersey. So I guess I'm safe then for a 10 a.m. tour?
-
Has anyone taken a tour with this tour company? Interested in tour of Acadia Park and Cadillac Mountain. Also wondering since Bar Harbor is a tender port approximately what time would be get off the ship after going through customs. It docks at 7 and the tour is at 10
-
Was interested in a private tour of Acadia Park and Cadillac mountain. I'll be on the Anthem which arrives at 7 a.m. Would I have time to make the 10 a.m. tour? I know its a tender port and I think we have to go through customs before we get off the ship.

I went on 3 hours later. Booked all my shows for June.:D
-
My cruise on the Anthem isn't until June but I check every day to see if I can make show reservations. Today when I went into my reservation, show reservations were open. I picked all the ones I wanted but then my friend asked me to make reservations for them also giving me their reservation number. When I went back in, it said reservations are not available yet for shows. Weird that I got to book but then it said they aren't available yet the second time I went in?

Yes I did look at my account online and it says my tips were prepaid. I just don't remember seeing a charge for them on my credit card. I guess they'll be deducted daily from my account when I sail.
-
I need my memory refreshed because its been awhile since I sailed Royal Caribbean. I requested my tips to be pre-paid. I don't remember if I paid for them already or they will be added onto my shipboard account daily when I cruise. On my other cruises on other cruise lines, they were added to my account daily.
-
OK thanks.

Double occupancy means the OBC is split between the two guests. Single occupancy means all the OBC is applied to your account.
Im not redeeming my points as OBC. I'm redeeming the points so I can get $500 off the price of the cruise itself.
-
Please bring me up to date. Haven't done it in awhile. I have 50,000 points which I want to redeem to get $500 of my cruise in June. Can I redeem them anytime or do I have to wait. I remember at one time they had to be redeemed 60 or 90 days before you cruise or sometime before final payment:confused:
Also would I put down double occupancy or single occupancy. It gave me two choices. I'm sharing the cabin with my boyfriend under one reservation.

I came across your review this morning and you got me hooked on reading it. I will finish reading it later when I return home tonight. I like the flashback down memory lane and your boys were adorable. I'm sure they still are!
I'm going to Canada/New England in June, so looking forward to reading more and seeing the pictures.

Are they open embarkation day so as not to deal with the crowds in garden buffet as people are boarding or do they only have lunch buffet sea days only?
-
"Moderno". ;)
Yes I know. I just corrected it. ;)
Procedure from parking in Bayonne, to luggage to getting on ship?

Thanks for all the information. We always arrive early for all our cruises, by 10 a.m.
