I'm sure you meant that you have 50,000 points. 50,000 points gets you a $500.00 discount. 500 points gets you nothing. If you redeem the points and the cruise is cancelled the points remain on the cancelled cruise. They will not go back in your account. You can transfer the points to a future cruise by calling 888-305-4626

Yes I meant 50,000 points.  I actually have 71,000 I will use the rest for cruise excursions

  2. I will be making my final payment for my cruise in September. I have 500 points which I want to put towards $500 off my cruise. If I redeem the points now and the cruise is cancelled will I get the points put back onto my credit card? Does anyone know for sure, otherwise I guess I will call the credit card company rewards program to find out.

  3. I used to book my reservations through Travelocity, AAA, etc.  For one cruise I tried applying my Visa points to get $500 off my cruise and Royal Caribbean wouldn't let me because I didnt book the cruise through them.  For now on, I always book through Royal Caribbean and get my discounts with no problem. Plus if I want to make any change its so easy to just call them directly and talk to an agent.

  4. We've sailed Royal, Princess, Norwegian and Carnival.  Our favorite still is Royal Caribbean, the Oasis class ships.  We felt on Princess, although a very pretty ship and great service all around, there wasnt much going on at night as far as comedy shows, dancing, etc.  We are in our 60's but still young at heart and found ourselves roaming around at night looking for something to do.  Past 10 or 11 p.m. it seemed to us people were back in their cabins for the night.

  5. Just read an article that ships will start sailing at half capacity from Bayonne in August. It said ships with 6,000 capacity will sail at 3,000. How will they decide who will be sailing. I booked a sailing last year so is it who booked further out in that order?

BAYONNE, NJ - After extensive discussions with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, local and state health officials, and the Office of Emergency Management, Royal Caribbean is planning to sail its first cruise ship out of Port Liberty in Bayonne in August, TAPinto Bayonne has learned.

“Right now, we’re hearing the first ship will leave in August at half capacity,” said Mayor Jimmy Davis. “This means that if the ship can accommodate 6,000, then 3,000 will be allowed on board.”

Royal Caribbean suspended operations from Bayonne last March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

  6. We have both completed our series of vaccination. It is not even known if when we're vaccinated if we can still transmit the virus.  Every week is a different story as far as this virus goes. Since we got our vaccinations we feel much safer and have been going on with our lives as far as dining out, going to the gym, and traveling. We only wear masks if we enter a store that says masks required.  Otherwise, we're done with these masks already!

Were you sick after the first dose?  I had fatigue, headache, painful legs, elbow and wrist, and an earache.  I will be getting the second  dose on Wednesday and hope the first reaction was not indicative of what is in store for me this week.

No I wasnt sick after the first dose. I was just tired for one day. After the second dose I got sick with a fever about 10 hours later.

  8. When the virus started we moved our September 2020 cruise to September 2021. Now having doubts that cruise will happen. Might have to move it again to September 2022. We decided on a backup plan to take a land based vacation in 2021 just in case it gets cancelled once again.

We are cruising Sept. 19, the perfect cruise was going to Labadee and Coco Cay.  I kind of wish they would cancel, my husband still wants to go.  I am worried that someone will get sick on the ship and we will all be stuck in our cabins.

I was supposed to be on that cruise but switched it to September 2021. Besides be stuck in your cabin if just one person gets the virus, who knows how long you will be stuck on the ship and won't be allowed back off. I wouldnt want to be stuck on a ship for who knows how many weeks. It would be a very stressful vacation.
