Thanks.....Princess soda and more was $8/day and totally worth it for me....virgin pina coladas etc.....soda card not worth it for me but will still get it for teens.
Thanks again for the quick replies.

Recently on princess and purchased soda plus card which included unlimited soda, juice, mocktails, shakes and floats....anything similar on carnival or only their bottomless bubbles soda card?

Applaud this policy change....smokers cancelling is great!
-
Fish & Chips is just o.k.....similar to what you would get at a general family restaurant but nowhere close to what you would get at a seafood takeout here on the east coast....it was a nice change of venue for lunch.

We spent two afternoons by the pool....calypso....and service was excellent...servers were by frequently and returned every 30 minutes or so to collect dishes and check on us even though we weren't drinking very much.
-
We had one there last week and there were actually plastic sticks by each clamshell for this purpose. They propped up the back by two feet or so and we had no problem with stuffiness...and it was extremely hot that day....June 29, 2014.

We were on this sailing as well. Ship looked good and they were constantly working on her as well....mostly painting the outside areas and doing elevator maintenance...only one elevator at a time though...we were on the panoramic lifts several times. Lots of new carpet and bedding and curtains etc. in good condition in staterooms.

Thanks to all for your replies....two more days!

Which cruise line?
Princess has a few driving tours that don't involve too much walking or physical activity.

Anyone else having problems tonight...i can see my booking in personalizer but it won't let me in to print boarding passes etc.

We will be in Grand Cayman next week on Caribbean Princess...at least two other large Carnival ships in port that day. We are just looking for a relaxing beach day and have a seven mile beach break booked through the ship (and no, not interested in private, dyi etc. as I do not find that relaxing)....anyway....will it be too crowded to enjoy? We are starting to wonder if we might just stay on the ship that day. We have never stayed on board on a port day and this trip is about relaxing and sun....any advice?

I agree! Come and visit the lovely Maritime provinces!
I can assure you. We do not have ice in August....and hurricanes do not come from here...they come from the south Atlantic and move up the Atlantic coast of North America....so I am not sure where the OP was on that cruise but it wasn't here!
Late September and early August see lots of whales in the Bay of Fundy....fall colours peak in early to mid October. Saint John, NB is one of the oldest cities in North America and there is lots to do within walking distance of the pier.

I am very, very impressed that Carnival took these actions.
PTSD? Really?
Sounds more like SBS and a family with a total lack of respect for rules or for other human beings.
Does anyone on this board really think that the captain would have done this, and exposed himself and his company to criticism, without a very good reason?
Again...bravo....I would love to sail on this Captain's ship with my children because I would know they wouldn't be exposed to people like this getting away with inappropriate behaviour.

Thanks mollyanne and cove guy! I usually don't mind hard....just hate lumpy.

Does anyone know if there are new pillowtop mattresses on CB?
-
CB is the abbreviation for the Caribbean Princess....if you enter CB in search this forum on the princess board, you will find tons of info...we are sailing on her in three weeks and I hav efound several very helpful and recent reviews on here.

I would do anything to avoid that....recently had DH suggest a spring cruise to Caribbean with DD 23 and DS 15....i refused to go unless we got two rooms....it is a holiday and just wouldn't be able to relax at all....we can barely stand a hotel room with the four of us for more than two nights and they are much bigger than a cruise room!

thanks to all for posting the info. For St John, I am leading to the Fundy Trail. My wife and I love to hike and I'm hoping the 2nd week in Sept will be beautiful there. My question about this is how long of a drive is it from the port to the park and what is the best route? Also, are there any particular trails we should be doing?
Steve
It is about 45 minute drive to the Fundy Trail...only one road....great weather that time of year...and it is Saint John....St. Johns is in Newfoundland and we are a little touchy about the spelling....have a great trip!
-
Thanks for the info.....so if you book a clamshell, i would assume this would count as an excursion and get you off quicker?
-
You won't see fall colours here in September but you may see lots of whales, especially int he Bay of Fundy.
-
Thank you for the replies.....busy early and busy late....I am still wondering if someone who has been recently can give me an account of how busy when it is busy.....20 minutes?.....90 minutes? Thanks.

Hertz can do this...they have a location very close to POM...and shuttle you directly to terminal.

24 days from sailing...called and got $200 fare reduction tonight...there were still rooms in our category available and pretend booking didn't say " new bookings only".... Could not have been easier.....they also offered an upgrade from BD to BA for our original price but we declined as it would have meant moving off Caribe deck.....love Princess:)
Limited excursions for 2015
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
We have Eastern Caribbean booked on Splendor for March 2015. It seems like there are very limited options for excursions. Is it just too early?
