I only ask because this is the first time I have tried this with Carnival.....at Princess I just call and ask and they have always given me the lower price immediately. My PVP doesn't work weekends and the deal expires tomorrow!
-
Just submitted my Price Protection form today. I got an e-mail back within an hour saying they are backed up and it could take up to seven days for approval?? Anyone ever heard of that!

Children will be exposed to much worse on the Lido deck!

Thank you! Have a wonderful trip!

We are on Splendor March 1 and recently noticed an excursion we picked has been removed....Governor's Beach in Grand Turk. Did you notice if it went missing from you excursion list as well?
-
Getting onboard early is not that important to us but FTTF is worth it for us because:
No dragging around luggage once onboard
No waiting in line at service desks once on board
Priority tendering
Priority debark which is particularly important when trying to get from florida to canada east coast on early flights

I believe you only get credit for the ship portion of the trip.

Looks like the beach was Saint's Rest beach on the west side! Nice shots.
Sorry to hear about the reroute because of the weather but glad you got to visit our little city!

Saint John, New Brunswick....St. John's, Newfoundland.....will make a difference when doing research on the port.

As stated, most prefer Canadian money but will take US funds....your change will be in Canadian though and you may not get a great exchange rate.
As we do when going to US, I would suggest getting a small amount of Canadian currency.
What part of Canada are you visiting?

Yes. You can walk. There is a path to follow that goes all around the Harbour (called Harbour Passage). It is probably a mile in total length. There are also buses, cabs and cruise specific buses.
As for whether it is worth it , that depends on timing. It is certainly impressive to see the river reverse but that only happens as the tide is coming in and is more impressive during higher tides.
Saint John does not have a big downtown area so it is pretty easy to get around.

Sorry about that.....you will definitely see colour . There will be lots of yellows still but some of the more vibrant bright reds and oranges will no longer be present and some of the trees, especially if we have strong wind and rain, may be bare.
It is still an absolutely beautiful time of year and you will enjoy the city. I would highly recommend a walk around the old city including the market, king square and the old loyalist burial ground.
If you have any other questions, i will help if I can.

I live in Saint John, NB....colours were early this year and will be past peak next week.

We avoid all Air Canada flights whenever possible. Westjet is great and anyone else is better than AC.

Halifax is friendlier, older, less like a US city.

Very pretty but totally not a must do!

This is why so many of the kids I teach think the rules don't apply to them....fudging is lying without caring...a terrible model to set.

Crown Princess RT from Seattle does Glacier Bay.

The sodas plus package includes unlimited soda, juice, mocktails, hot chocolate, and milkshakes. I had it last month for about $8/day....totally wonderful for those not interested in alcohol...I drank virgin pina coladas and strawberry daiquiris all cruise!!.....the just soda card is around $6/day.
If you type caribbean princess in the search bar of the princess forum it will make it easier even though you have to weed through many reviews about "the caribbean"...and don't worry about asking questions. That is what this board is for!
Room changes seem pretty random depending on the number of sold rooms on your sailing.
Enjoy your cruise!

Caribe every time! We just had a caribe in 700s and it was perfect!
-
Always amazed at how much talk about smuggling booze and breaking rules...don't seem to see this on other cruise line forums?
-
Thanks!

Love, love, love Caribe balconies!!

I believe Hot Chocolate is also included in the soda plus package....$8/day for unlimited soda, juice, mocktails, milkshakes, floats and hot chocolate.

A lot will depend on timing. The river only "reverses" during high tide and that is also the only time you could kayak at Hopewell Rocks (which is almost two hours away from the port). You will need to check the tide schedule for your day in Port.
