  1. Glory.....Splendor is ugly ship, no 2.0 upgrades and seems to have a not so nice working environment for staff...all seemed stressed and sad...loved the Glory for positive and friendly atmosphere.

While being on any ship is better than not cruising, Splendor is the only ship I have been on that I would not rebook.

  2. Why does every question become a polarized name calling argument? There seems to be a fundamental lack of understanding and respect for differing opinions on this site.

I had no intention to bash anyone with my question. Please don't hijack by turning this into a brawl.

    Enjoy your cruise everyone.

  3. Prepay whatever you can online....excursions, soda package etc. You can even "gift" yourself online so that you start your cruise with a "credit" on your account. When you checkin at the terminal, register your credit card but then, the last day, go down and pay off anything you owe with your debit card....they won't charge to your credit card unless you have a balance owing when you leave the ship.

    Have a great cruise!

  4. Personal preference but totally worth it for us because:

    1. Room ready as soon as you board and not having to lug around luggage...can't imagine doing this as this is always the case on Princess.

    2. Priority tendering and debark...love this... never waiting in line

    3. Never waited in a line at guest services either...or at the port check in....and we were among the first 15 people off the ship at debark to make an early flight and didn't wait in any lines there either....

As I have said on here before, my husband questioned why we would need this as we never waited in any lines on our last Carnival cruise? I then explained to him that was because we had FTTF.

  5. What a great thread!

I will add room service tea to wake me in the morning.

Sitting on balcony with said tea

....and love the "horn challenges" when ships meet in port!!

I do think the best thing of all is the "ding" of your card when you return from another amazing day on a beach.

  6. Great comparison review...thank you!

We agree that both have their "niche". We cruise Carnival with the teens but Princess when it is just the two of us..

    A few things...

    1. Princess has always given me a price reduction, or obc after final payment. You just have to call. No form and less confusing variety of offers and sales.

    2. Love the "soda and more" drink package on Princess...unlimited soda, juice, hot chocolare and mocktails...miss this on Carnival.

    3. Love comedy club on Carnival and hate the move to "passengers as entertainers" on Princess. Some nights there is nothing to do unless you want to watch fellow passengers perform.

  7. Welcome to cruise critic jnksmom12!

We also use sticky notes to leave each other messages and are looking forward to the Breeze next month....for $5 per person we will have onboard texting capability which helps with teens and multiple rooms.

...and please do not be put off by the rude and unhelpful replies some seem intent on making...most members very friendly and helpful and glad to answer any questions.
