  1. I packed and used flat foam pool floats, about 18 inches long and 12 inches wide.  They were about two inches thick.  We used them in the pool, and at the beaches at the ports.  No one said a word, but they were not intrusive to other passengers.

Please indulge us by explaining how ANY decoration applied to a metal (i assume since magnets stick to them?) would be the cause or an accelerant for a fire?

I have seen paper, and plastic leis stuck to the door.  Not saying these would be the cause of a fire, but they certainly would burn if there was a fire.

Agree.... always thought they took away from Princess elegance.

I am sure we are in the minority, but I agree with you.  I think they can be on the tacky side, and no one can argue with the fact that they could be a fire hazard.

The new lunch menu is a real first world problem.  Everything on the new MDR lunch menu is better than a sandwich and an apple in the breakroom at work.

So many here really seem to enjoy saying that.

I agree although we were surprised by the number of books on Grand Princess. (Not a vast amount but more than we expected post Covid.) I also agree about reading for pleasure on a phone or tablet. These days I read almost exclusively on one or the other. I prefer my tablet but I use the phone onboard unless I'm in my cabin. I can adjust the screen to suit how my eyes are working at the moment - they don't always behave the same way - and I don't need an independent light source. I also don't have to hold a heavy book in my hands that don't work so swell anymore and sometimes give me pain. Yes, there is something special about a "real" book but I currently have over 40 books on my tablet (and also on my phone) and I can carry that number with a great deal of ease. When I was young we used to take the toy wagon to the library because we hauled so many books back and forth. These days I don't have to haul around a lot of extra weight. (We do still support the local Friends of the Library with donations, etc. If I ever win the lottery that will be a place I donate a good sum of money for their use.)

I must agree with you.  I was so against buying a Kindle, always wanted a real book.  Then arthritis got so bad in my hands it was impossible to read for more than half an hour.  I guess I am like many others who have "seen the light".  I adore my Kindle, have nearly 100 books so far.  I love that I can have a book that I want within a few minutes.  I havent bought a real book in ages, and have been thinking of dragging the ones I do have to half price books.  I doubt I will ever give up the Kindle now.

Really, till 6am?  What on earth is going on in the piazza till 6am in the morning?  Curious.

Princess seems to be reluctant to enforce much of anything for fear of receiving less than a 10 on the post cruise evaluation because the "ruined" someone's vacation.  In the absence of enforcement, chaos reigns.  Slovenly dress and behavior in the MDR, chair hogs, mobility devices blocking fire exit corridors, card players taking up tables in the buffet.  It's the new norm for Princess.

The perfect storm of mass marketing to steerage.

    It's sad to witness.

This is nothing new with Princess.  They have never enforced their own recommendations, in the MDR, or the pool area.  Every now and then you will have someone turned away in the MDR, but that is only on occasion, depending on the dining room manager.

I actually found on the app and I can make reservations for the main dining room so I called the cruise planner back and I said please double check. He had said he talk to visor and I said talk to another one!
he did that and then he confirmed the main dining room. The funny thing is I talked to another cruise planner, and she said the same thing as he did. I have no idea what they’re doing. I called the main 800 number and the cruise planner number and was told that yes I can go to the main dining room and in fact she tried to help me make reservations for those venues.

we can only use pizza twice for our casual dining. Is it true that we can only have pizza twice without paying for it?
    Thank you again very much!

You can have pizza at Slice on the Lido deck free all day, any day.  Alfredos the the 2x casual dining for pizza.

They don't call cruise ships floating retirement homes for nothing! 🤣😁

When you have to shout to be heard in the dining room, or at Customer Service, does that make it a fun evening for you?   I fail to see the connection between  Princess and a floating retirement home.  Judging by the responses on this thread, precious few enjoy the loud consistent noise to be fun.  That does not make them old fogies.

I was flamed on this board for complaining about the noise from the egg drop when we were eating in Alfredo's.  I have read comments about the noise from the piazza carrying into the dining rooms on Caribbean Princess so we've booked Palm, away from the piazza.

Shame on anyone who flamed you.  There have been many members on this board who have complained about the noise.  And shame on Princess too.  That kind of racket does not lend itself to a nice cruise.
