  1. What time does the ship sail ? As most non touristy restaurants don't open until 7pm , personally after along day on the tour you are doing I would return to the ship . The nicest is https://marchicapalma.com/ which over looks the port if you have time . Roger b
  2. Thank so much for your kind words, I will try to get you some fine weather for your day in Palma. If you want to ask anything I am around on the 9th . Roger b
  3. Thanks Edinburgher I think you covered everything . The hop on hop of bus does stop at the port as seen on the map . The last few weeks I have noticed that the buses have been over crowded, if you don't get a seat on the top deck it's a waste of time and money. It's an expensive trip ,you can see most of the town on foot Roger b
  4. Hi , Pleased things worked out last year, You have plenty of time , yes I would hire a car it will give you the freedom to spend as much time as you want on your tour here are some places you could visit on your route . https://www.abc-mallorca.com/sa-granja-mallorca/ https://www.lacasaderobertgraves.org/en/ https://www.abc-mallorca.com/cala-deia/ https://www.jardinesdealfabia.com/en/the-gardens/ The road from Valdermossa to Soller is spectacular You could drive to Port de Soller park the car and get the tram into Soller and return . Hope this Helps !! Roger b

  10. Come back to me when you need more, personally I would want a more relaxed visit with some time to take in the sights. Palma is beautiful city and very walkable, the Cathedral is a must ,so have look at what I have written before and I can map out your day. Roger b
  11. Hi, Well Well I am many things ,but this is the first time I have had to resort to mind reading (only kidding ). If you read back through my suggestions you will find something that takes your fancy, you have a full day with plenty of time to do any plans that we come up with. The places I think you should see are Valldemossa , Soller, and Palma, Since it your first time in Mallorca ,I think you should spend at least half a day in Palma. Here is my idea it is the train to Soller , tram to Pt de Soller and back to Palma look back and you will see how to do this I have given this plan to others . any questions let me know ? Roger b
  12. Hi , You will have plenty of time to make your plan work , Here are the details you need if you want to the whole trip by bus my only caveat is finding the bus stops( look on google maps to find it from the port : (1) https://www.emtpalma.cat/en/route/-/L/1/portopi-sindicat This should be where your ship docks this will take you to the Plaza d'Espaya and the central bus station . This is the west quay , but if it docks at the main terminal you will need : https://moovitapp.com/index/en/public_transit-line-4-Mallorca-1923-775503-15996804-0 a short walk from the terminal behind the Porto Pi shopping center. (2) https://www.tib.org/en/linies-i-horaris/autobus/-/linia/204 Will take you to Soller , get off explore town then get the tram to Pt de Soller. (3)https://www.tib.org/en/linies-i-horaris/autobus/-/linia/203 Bus stop might be more difficult to find if you use magnifier on the route on the page you will find it. Hope all this makes sense ? you will have no problem getting tickets pay on bus you will need plenty of small change. On last thing that might interest you on the 2nd November. https://www.esprincep.com/en/blog/The-Festival-of-Light-at-the-Cathedral-of-Palma Roger b
  13. Hi There are so many good restaurants in Pt de Soller, to honestly it's hard to get a bad meal Go for A tapas menu or fresh fish. https://www.kingfishersoller.com/
  14. The caves are long trip , for 1 hour underground, good if you love caves not much else to see. For me stick to the original plan!! Roger b
  15. If you get to the station around 9 am you should have no problem, you can walk back to veiw the market as it just over the road before the train departs . If you are unable to get the a ticket we switch to plan B ,get a taxi from the station to pt de Soller and come back on the train -- Simple!! Roger b
  16. Hi Natalie and Alan, You are right get the 10.10 train, Get the shuttle from the ship into Palma will stop opposite the cathedral, walk to the station taking in : https://www.mercatolivar.com/ca/inici/ Amazing market its on the way to the station , there is a lovely beach in port de Soller, https://www.seemallorca.com/beaches/port-de-soller-beach-port-de-soller-662643. Book your ticket for the cathedral and train on line. https://catedraldemallorca.org/. If you want to you can get a taxi straight to the station be there 3/4 hr before departure . Roger b
  17. Hi, Just a couple of thoughts ,if you are getting the first train at 10.10 am get to the station around 45 mins before departure as it will be busy. You should be able to get a taxi in Pt de Soller go to a restaurant or hotel and ask them to call one for you . Have great day !! Roger b
  18. I actually went to Arash this morning and they told me no IDL is needed.
  19. Further update as long as you area visitor a U.S license is acceptable, Roger b
  20. I have asked and the law seems to be you do need an international driving license ,even though I don't think it is inforced. Better safe than sorry Roger b
  21. Hi, Well I have never heard this before and all the people that that I have sent to the car hire company I know have not needed one . In saying this I looked on the internet to find the answer and found this , leave this with me and I will find out tomorrow. https://www.theguardian.com/money/2022/oct/04/why-did-i-need-an-international-permit-to-collect-a-hire-car-in-spain Roger b
  22. Hi Carole, I don't know this company , I have looked over the website as far as time is concerned you will have time to get back to the ship as the tour finishes at 2.30 pm , it is about 30 mins by taxi back to the port. Now i will give you downsides : Its expensive ,you will have the added cost of a taxi both ways, its nothing special. around 300 eu as against around 80 eu if you hire a car You could do this trip and see more , I would hire a car ,pick it up and return to the port , look back a few posts and you will see a better route covering nearly the same ground . That way you could be off by 8.30 am you will see more any not be governed by time. Roger b
  23. This the summer timetable ,it will change in September/October. Not sure what will happen but last year there were trains all day .Last one back is around 6.30pm. Saturday is a good day to visit Soller as it is Market day !!
  24. Hi ,you will be able to get a later train around 12.15 pm ,not sure of exact time as it will be the winter timetable, which will not come out until later in the year. Look back in this thread and will give you different suggestions of what to do at this time of the year. Roger b https://trendesoller.com/eng/timetable.php?register_vars[ckAnalitica]=1
