If you get the water taxi, you can get some super pictures of the ship!!!

Oh No!
I am on the cruise departing Saturday!
What a shame. A similar thing happened to my brother and he regretted not having had receipts for food etc at the hotel the previous night as P and O would have reimbursed. Maybe wise to get receipts as they may come in handy!
Enjoy your cruise, I'm sure you will

Sometimes you will find some craft or bridge going on. There will be speakers too, some better than others!! I'm sure you'll thoroughly enjoy it.

Anyone booked on Oriana 7th December, going to Canary Islands. Feels like husband and I are the only ones :(
If you go onto the Roll Calls, you may find that there is already a Roll Call for that cruise. If not, why not start one? Enjoy your cruise

We've sailed the Atlantic a few times and have been told that the midday change is so that the crew don't lose an hours sleep. Suppose that makes sense, they work hard enough as it is.
-
We went last year and considered it a waste of time. I think they showcase different lines on different days. We found it really busy with HUGE queues but did come home with an armful of brochures and a couple of book bags! I really wouldn't bother to go again

I had been hearing people rave about Caravan for years but had never seen them on any of my cruises until this May. I must say that I was totally underwhelmed.
I must admit that when we were on in February sailing back from Sydney, we didn't understand all the rave reviews. The lead singer's Phillipino accent is very strong. We also felt that the poor chaps were flogged to death, they seemed to be on all the time. We're back on Aurora in January and are frankly crossing our fingers for a change.

Another vote for Bernard's tours. Fabulous trip. Very professional. You'll pick them up from Google.

I have been told directly by P and O that only select fare passengers will get them now. It changed in early August and if you booked any sort of saver fare the wrong side of that date, you won't get one. The box will be automatically ticked and all documentation will have to be retrieved online. Not sure how much it will save them financially with printing and postage but that's obviously the reason. Mind you, we get some sort of mailing from them at least once a week promoting cruises. Perhaps they could cut back on that a bit.

I agree. Those poor people, and a lot of them are really poor and rely on us tourists. My heart goes out to them.
-
Yeah, they do come out about then. We book early on the ones we really want and then decide on the others later by studying the brochure but won't get one now
-
If you're Early Saver, it appears that the box will automatically ticked for you now, so you won't get a pre cruise brochure sent to you. Sneaky P and O
-
Thanks Nevleen, that is really interesting. We booked through an agent and certainly haven't ticked the box ourselves, but it does seem to be ticked. There is no mention of this booklet not being available on Early Saver in any of the terms and conditions but it does appear on their Q & A page. Very devious I think. I'm currently waiting to hear from Pando re omission from T & C. I know it's not a big deal but it's a 10k pp holiday and I want to be able to sit and look at trips with other half not hunched over laptop. Sorry, rant over!!!
-
Is anyone aware that P & O no longer send out a pre cruise trip brochure to people on Early Saver fares? It used to be the case for Late Saver, understandably but never on the Early Saver. No mention at all in any Terms & Conditions. Wonder when it came into effect. Anyone know?

I think we're on the same Baltic cruise. We ARE over 60 (just) , I'm a little bit on the cuddly side and OH likes a beer or two. We don't smoke and I don't consider us to be uncouth!!!! We've done a number of cruises and this is the first on Arcadia. I'm looking forward to it and I'm sure we'll all have a lovely time (as always):)

I love everything. Reasonable bar prices is a big one for DH.
No 15% tipping is a bonus, more than happy to pay the tips at the end of the holiday.
All the staff are brilliant and they have to deal with some pretty horrible passengers who speak to them like rubbish
Coffee making and biscuits
Fridge
Safe
Toiletries
Really comfy beds
I could just go on and on and on and..............................!!
Roll on the next one in July. Counting down!
Oh, not fussed on the sailaways. Bit OTT for me

It has disappeared from the 30 January 2015 cruise on Ventura. There's a gap on the itinerary where it used to be.
Anyone know why and whether another port will be subsituted?

I think you need to go add P & O to the compatibility view settings under the tools menu
That worked. Thank you all SO much for your help.
Trip booking here I come!!!

Is anyone else having trouble getting into the Cruise Personaliser? I keep getting a weird message
"Cannot find validation summary element "Form Validation Summary", make sure you've put an element with this ID into your HTML document."
I've never seen this before and it just wont let me in. I really need to update things and book some trips.
HELP!!!!!

Just got back off Oriana last Friday and fit as a flea. No cough, dry throat, nothing. AND I didn't hang up flannels or use nasal sprays. Think it just depends on the individual and IMHO, its a bit like seasickness, some people just talk themselves into it!
-
I am SO glad that I'm not the only one getting twitchy about cancellations. I will be SO cheesed off if that happens. I cannot believe that a company the size of P & O (Carnival) can't get their IT sorted. Perhaps they're hanging onto the money as long as possible before they pay the charter airlines. If there's nothing odd going on, why don't they just come clean and tell us?
-
Does anyone wonder if the problem with the flight booker could be linked to potential cancellations? There seems to be an awful lot of availibility on our cruise going in January which is now all paid for. Or is it me in "glass half empty" mode?!!!
Exclusive lift for passengers with mobility issues
in P&O Cruises ( UK )
Posted
I think the issue here is not the need for a exclusive lift for disabled passengers but for fellow passengers to show some consideration for those with mobility issues. I would always give way for a wheelchair user, there but for the grace of God.......
