  1. Thank you, Dorothy, same here. Too many unknowns right now, we're fearing an attack from Iran, and no cease fire as yet.....
  2. Same here, Karen. I really hope we'll make it. Some many obstacles along the way.............😢 I've looked at the first item on the left side of the menu (small letters). Saw something starting with 2.... Got a "sticker shock" and, instead of "dwelling" on the other items, decided best to ask if it's US $. Didn't mean to "confuse" you, sorry.
  3. "Breaking" the long drive is very clever. Our "standard procedure" is to arrive at least 2 days before a cruise sailing from Europe and at least 3 days from US. For the Bella 2.0, we aim to book a direct flight which will land us early morning of January 30th, for the February 2nd sailing date 🤞
  4. Enjoy your next cruise on Iona !!! I so wish we had a cruise port within driving distance, with no need to fly. Booked a Voyager OTS out of Athens, that will be the shortest we'll have to fly to. Due to the war, our excellent TA found us a group booking with refundable deposit.
  5. Are the prices in US dollars? 200$ for a steak seems a lot to me, but what do I know, living in the Middle East.... 😕 Pat, DH had the whole range -- BCC, SCC and melanoma. He is full of craters.... Full check up every 6 months. The first 2 are OK if found in time and all is excised. Good luck and 🤞
  6. @grapau27 Graham, I'm so happy everything is OK with your skin cancer check up 👍 Off-topic, the mom of my step cat is thanking you again for all the help you provided for her friend looking to book P&O Iona. That's one of my step cats taking a nap after a hard day's work....
  7. I can get into RC's site from my computer to plan my cruises.... Debbi is "seeing" posts on other Bella's shall not be named site.
  8. The only time we considered travelling directly to Southampton from Heathrow was for a "tester" cruise on the Apex inaugural (April 2020, Covid cancelled). I've found the process of booking reserved seats very user friendly and convenient (and, of course, when we cancelled due Covid, we were immediately reimbursed). I've made a mock booking for July 11.... https://book.nationalexpress.com/coach/#/choose-journey?journeyType=single&departureStopId=57020&destinationStopId=65136&departureDate=11%2F07%2F2024&departArrive=DepartAfter&outboundTime=00:00&returnDate=11%2F07%2F2024&departArriveReturn=DepartAfter&returnTime=00:00&adults=1&children=0&infants=0&euroAdults=1&euroChildren=0&euroSixtyPlus=0&euroInfants=0&ouiAdults=1&ouiChildren=0&usingCoachCard=false&youngPersonCards=0&seniorCards=0&disabledCards=0&partnerId=NX&campaignId=DEFAULT&request_locale=en&numResults=4
  9. When we had an almost total eclipse in Israel a few years ago, during the hot summer, it was 2.30pm and it suddenly got very cold outside.... We were on our balcony and felt like a very cold wind. I remember thinking "Wow, we really needs this sun in our lives. Look what a few minutes of eclipse are doing to the temperatures outside...".
  10. No, there is no promenade. BUT, come to think of it, I really don't like the whole layout of the ship. It seems to me that even the pricier cabins on deck 9 and above do not look down to the water, they look down on the promenade.... Deck 9 is in the middle I rest my case....
  11. NOW I understand.... For free I wouldn't book one of those. My friend's friend thanks you very much. So glad I've thought to ask you about Iona.
  12. Thanks, Graham. I really have trouble understanding the promenade cum lack of privacy "thing" of those mini-suites. Those balconies do not "border" with the sea? Is the promenade between the sea and those balconies????
  13. Thank you so much for your quick and detailed reply, Graham. Much appreciated. I've copied your post for the friend of the friend and told her to book only deck 9. She is also wait listed for a full suite.
  14. You and us too.... We walked with our carry on from the Premier Inn, through the Holiday Inn's parking lot, to the pier. Checked the route the evening before, since someone posted about this possibility to cross through HI's parking lot. BUT, for "regular" people it might not be a "viable" option.
  15. Our experience when sailing out of Southampton -- Book a private transfer from Heathrow to a London hotel. Spend 2-3 days in London. The day before the cruise -- book a private transfer from London hotel to, for example, Premier Inn West Quai Southampton. From the Holiday Inn you can just walk to the pier.... Morning of the cruise -- you're all set within 5-10 mins drive to pier. National Express buses and trains -- all require additional transfers by taxi. If flying in from US, might as well spend a couple of days in London, to get over the jetlag.
  16. @grapau27 Graham, the mom of my stepcat sent me one of her best friends for "cruise consulting"... The friends want to cruise the Norwegian Fjords with P&O (originally they're from England) and asked me about the itinerary. I've tried to check it on an US site, which I'm using to see rates and availability, before asking our TA to book us. I was surprised that P&O is not available for booking through an US-based agency. Anyhow, I've managed to see the itinerary on P&O's official site, which was not very user friendly. It includes the Geiranger fjord, which is a must. No suites available, only mini-suites for Iona on the 6th of July. Do you have any experience with mini-suites on Iona? Thanks,
  17. Beautiful itinerary, Graham @grapau27, including the famous Belgian chocolates. Did you pay to visit the interior of one of those cube houses? St. Kitts it is 😉. We also have never been to St. Croix.
  18. Mark, @h20skibum My veterinary "knowledge" stems from the show "The Incredible Dr. Pol". There, usually when an animal was anemic, first thing he looked for were parasites -- coccidia, mites, etc. Assuming it's not the case, hopefully it's a "one-off" for Ricky 😘
  19. @DaniDanielle Oh, Marietta, never a dull moment for you. Glad everyone is safe. CNN — A preliminary 4.7 magnitude earthquake was felt in the Northeast Monday morning, according the US Geological Survey
