When booking for popular times, which I believe the Holidays would qualify, I book as early as I can. We cruise every year over New Years and I've found the the prices only go up throughout the year.

Depends on the muster station. I was in spa cabin on 11 and we mustered in liquid lounge. Not sure where the others were located but we were inside sitting in the chairs. Was the quickest drill I’ve ever been part of at less than 20 min
We have balconies on deck 11 spa cabins in December. Would love to hear what you thought of the rooms and the ship. Thanks in advance.

Would love to hear your thoughts. We will be dropped off by a family member and I'm curious of the difference in that and what we saw in the video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRJ3SPuqV1c Skip to the 4:00 minute mark. It appears everyone is going into one of the old parking warehouses and being bussed to the terminal on tour busses. From what I was able to find over the weekend they're using the warehouse as checking and releasing people to the terminal in groups to go thru security so the old terminal isn't overwhelmed.
Looks like a nightmare.

Great review. Thank you for taking the time. We are taking the same cruise this NYE.
Would you please expand on how the App for Your Time Dining works?

My three boys and I will be wearing tuxes on our NYE cruise on the Sunshine as we were last year on the Liberty.

Are the relaxation loungers normally available or are they usually occupied?

Perfect. Thank you.

Drop off is right in front of building used for check in. (Building 324- one of the warehouses formerly used for parking) shuttle takes you to terminal for security and boarding.
Thank you so much for your kind reply. If I understand you correctly we will be dropped off, checked in and then have to take a shuttle to a boarding area?

We are doing the same cruise in December. Our plan is to be dropped off by a family member at the port. Do you know how that would work at the port?

We have not sailed out of Charleston yet, but I would think that passengers booked in suites will be in the same line or entry as those who have purchased FTTF.

We are sailing out of Charleston in December and I wanted more information on being dropped off by a family member and found this from the port site. Very detailed and new for 2019.
I'd love to hear from someone has sailed out of Charleston since they changed things at the end of 2018.

We did the steakhouse NYE last year and would have preferred to have been in the main dining room. The MDR had party favors and a really good menu on NYE. The steakhouse, while delicious, didn't do anything special. We had to ask them for party favors and they begrudgingly went down and got some hats.
Next year we'll do the steakhouse on another night and eat in the MDR for NYE.

There are several reasons why a person would want twice a day service. They shower in the morning, steward comes and cleans in the morning and replaces towels. People come back from the beach and take another shower. Now they have no dry towels for their shower the next morning. They may have tracked sand in the cabin from their shoes. People may want ice twice a day. It's nobody else's business why someone would want service twice a day.
We just got off of the Horizon. Our steward had the form in his hand. He pointed to it and asked which we wanted. It clearly said Morning, Evening or Both. We said both and he marked both and never batted an eye.
Sorry if I struck a nerve. Wasn't my intent. We prefer only to have evening service as we enjoy our alone time in the mornings. Don't like a steward knocking on the door. Everyone has preferences. Mine is to not stand in line, and some may find that curious.
BTW, please don't ever fire Harbaugh.

I'll always tell the steward I want twice a day, even if he or she offers only once a day.
Why?

I forgot to mention the Shake-Spot was another highlight on this ship with great milkshakes, floats, and special coffees. This was the first time I've had an old fashioned ice-cream soda in years.
It's my understanding that the shakes and specialty coffee from shake spot come with the Cheers program. Can anyone verify that?

I'll take my chances as well. I used to pay for a couple of bottles in the room, but not only do they not carry my preferred brands, they charge literally in excess of four times what I would normally pay per bottle.

It happened to me a few years back when they switched the ship we were booked for the Liberty out of Port Canaveral. From what we heard, the Liberty was having propulsion problems and was a better fit for the 4-5 day Bahamas cruises than the western Caribbean routes that it had been on.
The original ship was of the same class as the Liberty, and I believe that most rooms correlated well so there wasn't much of a difference. I don't think it affected us at all.

Geez!! Rough crowd today.

Do they give you time afterward to "enjoy the room"?
They give you a few minutes and then knock before they come back in. They're pretty eager to get back in there to sell you some of their product. A curt "no thank you" was all it took to get them to back off, though.

My wife and I did the 75 minute couples massage on the Liberty about a month ago. There was no whirlpool in the room that they gave us the massage.

This one unfortunately goes the way of "balcony etiquette" in 3 - 2 - 1 ........

What exactly is "priority reservations:"? Are they going to boot someone who has already reserved a massage when you want it?

We will be taking the Sunshine in December and will be dropped off at the port by a family member. Do you know if people being dropped off go into the same line to drop off luggage as those who are parking?
