  1. I just found out some balconies are not covered on the Star. Am trying to decide between Caribe and Baja decks. Am told balconies on Caribe are larger and partly covered whereas Baja are completely covered. Is there that much of a difference. We will be on the 15 day Hawaii cruise. Thanks for any help you can suggest.

  2. We arranged rentals through discount Hawaii car rentals. They were very good and refunded our deposit plus an extra $50 for our problem. We used them for two other stops. No problem. The Thrifty car rental place was understaffed and overwhelmed.

  3. We and two other couples were told they would send a shuttle and we kept calling being stranded at the cruise port. We finally nabbed a cab, squeezed in and left for the rental car place. The line was horrendous and we stood in line for awhile, finally just called a cab. Good luck.

  4. Be sure to allot enough time to pick up your rental car. Some companies pick you up and process you quickly but others take a lot of time. We were almost 2 hrs at Thrifty in Oahu due to a lot of cruisers trying to get their cars. The shuttle was overwhelmed. We finally gave up and took a taxi over to Pearl Harbor and just made our ticket appointment time. Most stressful day I ever had on a cruise.

  5. I started a new post but guess I should have posted here.

Got a call tonight from someone that said she was in management. Said we should all be told that all offers will be honored. Booked the Jan 3 2018 cruise for the same 3 for deal with tips, credit and $1 deposit.

I rebooked for Nov 14 but had to pay the "holiday" rate which increased my fare by $290. Agent said to email customer relations and am waiting for a reply. Got to keep my "sip and sail" promotion.

  6. I checked the Dec 19, 2017 cruise they said would be available today. Found same room available. Well they give you $300 OBC per person, but the cruise total went up by $610 and insurance increased in cost by $68. Even with the $15 OBC we are still not even and we lost the sip and sail. I will give Princess a call today and see if I am successful in retaining my original booking amount. Otherwise, will check HAL or Carnival.

    Still not happy!!

  7. Thank you! :)

We are cruisin' October 31st with 16 of the wonderful friends we met on our Hawaiian cruise. Looking forward to making a lot of new memories.

Hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did.

Hi Juli, wish The Captain and I were going with you, but will be busy moving into our new home by that time. Keep us in mind for the next one!! Sorry haven't written...busy! Will drop a line.

  8. I've googled and searched the forums here and other than mentions of Verizon, AARP (which are limited) and Kroger (which isn't local to me), all, I see are mentions of them being available at "9000 retail locations". But what retail locations? I need to buy a physical one as a gift and can't wait for shipping at the moment. Is there a list of stores somewhere?

Why not get a Carnival e-card? You won't have to scurry around trying to find the cards. Easy!:)

  9. You did everything correct. I left my Ipad on the Pride on my cruise in the room on the night stand between the beds. As soon as I got home on a Sunday i realized i left it. I filled out the lost and found report on line and then called on Monday. BUT i can't say that i have received it back. I returned on the 5th of July, but i do call every week. They are really nice and keep telling me don't give up hope. I'm losing hope though. :(

Don't give up hope. I lost my items on the March cruise and received them back the end of April. So you may have your item any day!:D:D

  10. My friend left her garment bag on the ship at the beginning of August. She filled out the online form to have it returned. She also called Carnival during the regular business hours. I don't know what number she called. Anyway, they told her that they put all items found in the lost and found on the ship. Then they sail the next cruise with it. When they get back from the next cruise they send everything in the lost and found to their headquarters in Miami. When it arrives in Miami, they will then contact you about how much you need to pay to get it shipped back to you from Miami. It seems like a long drawn out process and she has not received her luggage yet. So I wouldn't expect to get it back anytime soon.:(

I left some items in the little nightstand next to the bed. I called Carnival and gave them all the information. I was told the ship had to sail the next cruise, then the items are sent to headquarters in Miami, then need to be matched with the lost and found request. To make a long story short, one morning I received an envelope from Fed-Ex with all my missing items. I was very thankful and extremely happy with Carnival customer service.:D

  11. On my Pride repo cruise, I inadvertently left my "bible" of usernames and passes, along with my address book behind. I panicked when I couldn't find my little notebook (which in hindsight I shouldn't have taken with me). I called Guest Services as soon as I noticed it was gone and they said I had to wait for at least 1-2 Pride sailings before I might hear from them. Today I received a Fed-Ex box with my little booklet, my address book and my iPad keyboard which I just discovered missing yesterday. All three were held together with a rubber band when I took them. The keyboard was very nicely wrapped in bubblewrap. I was SO HAPPY!!

Carnival included a very nice Welcome Home letter telling me my lost articles were located and they had verified my info and returned to me.

They included the following Fun Ship Tips:

"Take a picture of the front of your Sail & Sign card with each of your cameras or cell phones as soon as you get on board. If these are lost, we can identify it and contact you quickly, even if found on the pier, in a taxi or on a shore tour.

Also if you have home Address Mailing Labels, attach one on the bottom of each camera, also place one inside your camera case. If we receive a lost item, not found in a cabin, or not having a picture of the S&S card as recommended above, you might miss out on pictures of a life time and the loss of your camera."

I just wanted to share my happy story!:D:D
