  1. When I posted the USA Today article did say it was a cholera outbreak. It seems like they have edited the article since then to indicate it may be a cholera outbreak.
  2. USA Today is reporting that it's a cholera outbreak.
  3. My son just did his first sailing after turning 18. Does he need to create his own NCL account to check his Latitudes status?
  4. That's why I said "most likely." The OP didn't provide enough information for either of us to know for sure.
  5. It depends if it's refundable or non-refundable credit. Most likely from a travel agent it would be non-refundable credit. That means you can spend it on onboard purchases such as spa, retail shop, photos, drinks not included, bingo, and the like. You can't spend it in the casino or use it to pay your on board daily service charges.
  6. I'm on the Norwegian Pearl this week and the breaking news is that "cruise casual" is now allowed in every restaurant (including specialty) except Le Bistro which is smart casual. As recently as a week or two ago the aft main dining room (Summer Palace on Norwegian Pearl) was listed as smart casual, but no longer!
  7. That is what the website says, but the website is wrong/outdated. The words, "Morning coffee, continental breakfast and" need to be deleted.
  8. Great review, I've added a few of the books you mentioned to my "to read" list! I think the reason you didn't get charged for the chair on GSC is because that is considered an "excursion" and you possibly could have pre-booked one through the shorex desk. So you got it for free because it was less than the $50 excursion credit.
  9. Could you provide an update on suite/Haven boarding in Boston this year? I just realized I can pick my check-in time tomorrow. I'll be staying at at hotel near the port, not driving in. Thanks!
  10. Yes, the free open bar perk can be added or removed until a few days before the cruise. Just call your travel agent or NCL if you booked direct.
  11. Norwegian Pearl was refurbished in 2021. I'm on her next month so I can't comment from personal experience, but there are a few YT videos from post-refurbishmebt.
  12. In all seriousness the "refrigerators" in NCL cabins are actually "beverage coolers" and are not food safe as the lowest they go is 45 degrees Fahrenheit. It's not worth getting Bacillus cereus from the sushi rice.
  13. My husband does not have his own NCL account and his Latitudes status shows the same as mine. You just have to make sure you use the same Latitudes number each time when booking.
  14. Have a great cruise! Following along as I will be going this summer.
  15. When we were in 14202 the bed was near the balcony. I am not 100% sure but I seem to recall at least in that particular area every other room was the opposite configuration.
  16. You need to check with your carrier. Also take a look at Cellular at Sea, https://www.ncl.com/about/staying-connected-sea-cellular-phone-service-texting.
  17. You really need to look at the price history on the 2023 cruises to see if there really has been a big change. What were the 2023 cruises selling for at this time last year?
  18. You can look at your booking on NCL's website and see if the OBC shows up now and what it says. For the spa, they do sell skin care and other products. You should be able to get something you would use for $50.
  19. Thanks for this thread, my husband was just diagnosed with Celiac a few months ago so we have not cruised with him being gluten-free before. I just submitted the special access form and will also contact our suite concierge ahead of the cruise if possible. Does anyone know if Moderno is mostly gluten-free? We love eating at Moderno on every cruise.
  20. Thanks, I didn't jump on the Amex offer when it was available but I might give this a go.
