  1. They are going too, but we dont know what they are going to do. Heald keeps claiming an announcement will be made soon, but then it gets pushed. I am sailing in the Captain suite on the Valor at the end of May, hoping I will get some nice perks, but I have very tiny expectations. At least it was a free upgrade so I guess I dont really have any basis to complain

  2. So... Carnival is finally getting "in the game" by supporting meet-n-greets. How many years did it take them to come around?

Now, there's apparent changes coming to the suite perks list. I'm not holding my breath, but let's see what Carnival can come up with.

Things I've suggested over the YEARS:

    > Room service: Expanded menu (particularly HOT breakfast)

    > VIFP points: Bonus points for suite guests

    > Specialty dining: Cover for two (one night) - thinking about their capacity, with many ships having just a single venue, I doubt they'll go this far. Not to mention that there are plenty of ships where this would be worthless

    > Internet: Some type of discount or free package

    > Beverages: Discount on Cheers or a couple/few coupons for complimentary drinks

    > Laundry: Similar to Platinum guests (I'd guess)

    > ... probably others, but it's been sooooo long!

Of course there's things which other lines offer, but I think some of that would be stretching it w/Carnival - such as: Suite lounge w/complimentary drinks in the evening or priority/reserved seating in shows.

There's really no telling - but let's just sit back and see what comes down the pike!

I think those are all great ideas. I am not holding my breath as well when it comes to Carnival. My guess is maybe some surprise in our bedroom on night one and maybe they can use the plat/gold/vifp line at customer service. John seems to be ignoring the question or pushing it off, so once again it could be absolutely nothing.

  3. I just checked today for this deal and I have a question if I am eligible for this.

I have an Early Saver Reservation. the total for 2 guests is 690.24. Now the Wheel of Fortune Promotion, has the same Category for 710.24, which is 20 dollars more however I get $50 dollars on board credit. I was thinking of doing this my price will go up $20 dollars but at least I get $50 dollars on board credit. Do you think I am eligible for this? and if so will I lose my Early Saver rate? In otherwords if it goes down again can I still use early saver?

    Thanks

My PVP just adjusted my Vista sailing under this rate. I paid $10 more p/p but got $50 OBC bringing the net impact to $30OBC. Another poster below brought up a good point though, its important to note if you adjust your sailing again to another rate you would lose the $50OBC. That said any adjusted rate after the wheel of fortunate rate needs to be a reduction of more than $25 per person in order to be a real savings! Hopes this help!

  4. Carnival Valor Dry Dock: 4/23/16 - 5/08/16

    Confirmed upgrades will include.

    Guy's Burger Joint

    BlueIguana Cantina

    Redfrog Rum Bar

    BlueIguana Tequila Bar

    Redfrog Pub

    Alchemy Bar

    Skybox Sports Bar

    Cherry on Top

    Camp Ocean

I wonder where the red frog pub is going to go. Maybe it will be like the Freedom? Either way thats exciting as it is such a nice bar!

  5. For a honeymoon you easily have to do 7 nights minimum. We have tried a few shorter cruises and they really do not give you the real cruise experience. Seven nights will be perfect and will allow you to really relax and partake in most of what the ship has to offer. My fiance and I are also doing our honeymoon on the ship and we chose a longer cruise for ours as well. All of the 7 day itineraries look great, I would pick the cheapest so you can indulge on excursions and some spa treatments

  6. Sorry if this has been asked but does anyone know when they are going to announce the enhancements to carnival suites. Also, do we know what they may include and when they will go into affect? I just booked the captains suite for my coming Valor cruise and I wanted to know whether it would be effective by then!

    Thanks!

  7. Hi,

I am taking my family for our first Carnival cruise on Vista in Europe this summer. It will be grandparents, mom and 4 and 6 yrs old kids.

I am a bit anxious about it, only sailed with RC and Disney before which had an awesome set up for young kids. Wanted to continue with these companies but the price and the new ship convinced me to give Carnival a try.

I would appreciate any tips and advice from experienced Carnival cruises!

    Thanks :-)

lol anxious.... your going on a VACATION, nothing to be anxious about. That said, your doing Europe which is totally different than doing the Caribbean. Assuming your going to do excursions your going to be off the ship most days for the entire day and by the time you come back and eat you'll likely be ready for bed. In my experience having done the Sunshine in Europe, I barely got to experience any of the ship other than the one sea day. This year on the Vista I plan on doing the same which is why I am booked again in 2017.

  8. Just sailed the Liberty 7-Feb-16 for the 3rd. time, and noticed these things that are now History.

    1) No more chocolate at night on your rack.

    2) No more items in your bathroom, just bar soap and the 2 liquids in the shower.

    3) Promenade deck Sushi at 5pm. is history.

    4) Maitre' D no longer comes to any table on your cruise.

    5) No more table cloths, or neatly folded napkins at diner. Table cloths are only formal nights now.

    6) Pass guest get together's, with drinks and hors d'oeuvres History! Was told only for Carnival Platinum members now.

These have been gone for over a year..... LOL at the sushi that may have been even two. Now its the taste bar

  9. We'll be taking our first Carnival cruise in the Spring 2016. Our reservation registration allowed us to pick the MDR time, but did not ask what table size we would prefer. On Princess, we've been able to submit preferred table size (e.g., 2, 4, 6, 8, etc.) How does Carnival select seating? And, will we know prior to sailing? We really like to sit with the same folks each night to become better acquainted and have more in-depth conversations, otherwise we'd go with "anytime dining", so we're hoping that we do not get assigned to a different table each night!

    Thanks!

If you prefer to have a table to yourself a pre-request a certain table you can email the matre d before you board. We already got our table for our upcoming new years cruise on the freedom. private table for two in the center near a window.

    fdmaitred@carnival.com

    Enjoy!

  10. We are going to have Jason Apps (JASE) for our Freedom cruise...can anyone tell me how they liked him?

I know absolutely nothing about him.

Jase is pretty bad, we had him on the Conquest in August. We also have him on our new years freedom cruise. Not the happiest about it, however a cruise director does not make or break a cruise at all for us so it is what it is.

  11. We had a similar experience during our August cruise on the Conquest. They did allow weddings to board first, but after weddings they opened it up to the "priority" room. Included in the "priority" room was Diamond, Platinum (us), Suite, and faster to the fun. It was a nightmare free for all. It was my understanding that FTTF was to be kept with general boarding until all priority was boarded, but that was not the case.

As a side note, we also found that the priority line was longer for check in at port everglades.

  12. I recently booked the Conquest for next year because of the different ports that Royal Caribbean does not go to. Now after reading the reviews, which are mostly bad, I am thinking of maybe jumping to another Carnival ship that has different ports like Grand Turk. Anybody have any recommendations? Not really familiar with Carnival. Thanks in advance!

    Karen

I think thats a good call as we recently got off the Conquest in August and we were not impressed at all. Although none of the issues with the ship ruined our cruise, this was the first time in any of our previous cruises we noticed multiple things wrong with the ship. Some of the things we noticed were

    1) Many of the machines in the gym were out of service for the entire cruise (almost half the elliptical and treadmills)

    2) Broken windows in the main dining room (including the window that we sat next too)

    3) Broken down arcade games

We also noticed that the staff were not as friendly or available as they were on our previous cruises. We had an upcoming cruise booked on the Conquest for next year, but instead we moved it to another ship as this will probably be our first and last cruise on the Conquest.

  13. The only reason I ask is because my wife and I cruised on the Destiny in a "night owl" room and didn't sleep the entire week due to the music from the disco. Don't want to EVER go through that again.

Then don't do a guarantee room..... If you are picky then pay the extra to get the room of your choice. Beggars cant be choosers.

  14. I seen some of u take back to back cruises. How do u do it? Do u ask customer service if the next round is book up ? Or do u plan ahead and book 2 weeks of cruises? Let me know I would love to do this some day. Tia

You book ahead of time. Just book two back to back cruises on the same ship and if you prefer the same room

  15. Does anyone have experience getting a Drinks on Us card at the beginning of the cruise when you 'pre-qualified' with more than 5,000 points on the last cruise but haven't emailed the Players Club ahead of time for comps?

Specifically, I'm on a casino bounceback rate (free cruise) so feel a little greedy about emailing for something else, but it would certainly be nice to get a card from the host at the beginning. Anyone have experience in this specific scenario?

I am going on a bounceback cruise over new years and heard back from the casino that because its a free room I will not be getting any comps. I believe the comps you start with on your bounceback offer depends on the bounceback offer you received. Mine was bcb08 which is just a free interior room. I will take that tough!

  16. If you are consuming more than 15 alcoholic drinks per day you have problems....holiday or not. Its still tricky to get up to even with other drinks.

However the Guest Service manager on the Legend told us it was a way to try and limit sharing one package.

Way to cast judgement upon others.... not to mention with completely flawed logic. I get cheers on every cruise and I can easily hit the 15 maximum without even getting a buzz. I like to drink the Miami Vice's which are extremely watered down and lack much alcoholic content. If you drink around 5-7 of those from late morning to late afternoon, you have already burned through half your drinks and you are far from a buzz. Next time think a little before you cast judgement.

  17. Hey there,

We are debating taking the 8 day news years cruise out of Baltimore on the Pride. The cruise goes to half moon cay, nassau, and grand turk. Has anyone does this cruise during the winter months? How cold is it going to be? I assume we will lose one sea day each way, but will it be warm for the rest of the cruise?

  18. Congratulations. May I ask you when your last Carnival cruise was and do you remember how many points you had when you left the ship? I am hoping to get some kind of offer, but I only got about 3,000 points, so I don't believe I will get anything.

    Thanks.

We asked for our point total but they told us because we were table players they did not know what our total was. I know at 5,000 you get an automatic drinks on us card when you board, not sure what you get at 3,000. Maybe some cash waiting for you when you board?

  19. Congratssssss!! How did you know you had a free cruise? thans

We want to the casino host the last night of the cruise asking her if we got anything. At first she said we did not, but I asked her to look again as I had never spent so much time in the casino (roughly 1-2 hours a night over 8 days). She checked her system and printed us a message with an offer code. As soon as we got back we emailed our PVP who confirmed that it was a free cruise!

  20. Congrats on your cruise. I was always curious if there is a limit of days that can be used? Can you select an 11 day Journeys cruise? Whatever cruise you choose, have a great time.:D

We can pick any cruise we want, which includes journeys. The only exceptions we had was that the cruise had to be taken before 12/31 and it cannot be used toward any other casino event (i.e. we can not sail any premiere or ultra for free)

  21. Thank you all for the congratulations! We are not big gamblers so we always read these threads in awe at all the various people who got free cruises on the casino! We always show up to each of our ships with $300 and play table games until we lose that balance. This cruise our $300 made it until the last night of the ship! For someone who said we paid for it in the casino, ill pay $300 for a free cruise any day!
