  1. Hello All,

I have a question and I am curious if anyone has ever seen this before. I have a 7 day cruise coming up in April and I did one of the Carnival select your own room options. I have been monitoring the bookings every day and around 40 days out the number of balconies showing has dropped to ten total. Has anyone ever seen inventory so low prior to getting your room assigned?

  2. The cost includes a 15% tip but do you think it is customary to tip on top of that (assuming the service is good), especially for the poolside drink service?

I always tip with cheers. For me if I order a drink that is delivered to me at the jacuzzi or lido area I do $1.00 extra or if its at the theater for a show I do $.50 extra. The servers definitely deserve everything they get!

  3. We are taking our FIRST Carnival cruise in oct on the Glory. We were super excited to try a new line as we have only been on NCL. But seems all i read on the FB page and other review sites is negative feedback!! Is carnival really become that bad? It cost us alot in airfare to make these trips from Colorado and im kinda worried now...[emoji27]

Why would you even ask this question..... You booked carnival for a reason so this is something that should have been considered well before you booked the cruise. Secondly, if carnival was "that bad" they would not continue to fill their ships on a regular basis. This has to be one of the dumbest questions posted

  4. I know ya'll can help me. Just went to Carnival and under special offers saw a new premier cruise offer. I've always had the PC2 offer for the casino cash. This time my offer is for a PC9 offer. I've done a forum search with no luck. Anyone know the difference between the 2 codes?

I wish Carnival would list what the offer is online. Would make things so much easier....

    thanks

Weird my new offer ic PC4. I wonder what the difference is.

  5. We just got back from out first Carnival Cruise on the Breeze. We have sailed both Disney and Royal Caribbean prior. Let me start off by saying how much we loved the ship. They layout was great. We had an aft balcony and loved the layout of the room, albeit the aft balcony was a little smaller than the DCL and RCCL aft balconies. They staff was wonderful and very accommodating. Our only complaint was the food. IT WAS HORRIBLE!!!!! We only had one night were we enjoyed the dinner. I am not picky about the quality of the food, but this was bad. Most nights I ordered the chicken ceaser salad, a plain chicken breast and fries. The ceaser salad was so bland there was no taste to it. Most nights the chicken was so rough and over cooked, I could hardly cut it. While our wait staff was wonderful, I found the selection to be bad. The food on the other areas of the ship were just as bad. The selection at the market place buffet was the worst I have ever seen. We even decided to have dinner at the Italian restaurant and pay the upcharge. The food was just as bad there. My biggest complaint is how my tree nut allergy was handled. Our dinning room server was wonderful. He gave me a menu the night before so I could pre order my meal and make sure it is prepared with out any nuts. My complaint is geared toward the buffet area. The foods were not properly labeled. When asked if an item had tree nuts, I was told they were unsure. Some would go ask the chef, where others simply said they did not know. On our last sea day, we went to enjoy the chocolate buffet. 1 item, only 1 out of many items did not contain nuts. I ended up getting fruit....no chocolate for me. My only positive food experience was Breakfast. At least I got 1 good meal a day. That and room service. Several nights after dinner I would order a sandwich from room service so I did not go to sleep hungry. My husband and I really enjoyed the cruise and would love to sail CCL again. Is this experience normal for a Carnival Cruise? We did hear lots of people complaining how bad the food was. For us, food is one of our favorite parts of cruising. I would love to hear your feedback if this is the norm for CCL

We just got off the breeze two weeks ago and thought the food was amazing. Having sailed on the Oasis this past July, I think the Breeze's marketplace and main dining room out shined royal by far. The selections were great and the food we ordered off the main dining room menu (not the every day selections) was amazing. I was actually very disappointed by Royal's main dining room. I think the up charge food is better on Royal but I am shocked to hear about your experience on the Breeze.

  6. Is there a way to get cash from obc using the casino?

Yes I have done this numerous times..... Take it out of the slots and not the tables to avoid incurring a fee. Note that if you take it out of the slots, chances are they will freeze your account, however if you are not a slots player then who cares. Typically just talking to a casino host will get your card unfrozen if you really wanted to play

  7. I am not sure if there is already a thread on this or not, but does anyone else feel that Carnival's room service menu is extremely lacking. I love the concept of breakfast in bed or breakfast on the balcony, and I assume others do as well. I think it would be nice if they got some hot items on their menu to make this idea realistic. I was just curious what others thought or if anyone new of any changes in the works since they are already changing the MDR

  8. We are sailing on the Carnival Conquest this weekend and my wife and I are debating on the drink package or not or should we pay as we go. We both like our drinks and have a good time also we are first time cruisers so any input would be appreciated.

Purchase one and share it...... you will get your monies worth that way based on the amount you stated you like to drink!

  9. no, you just took away where I wanted my emphasis...

if you want to be a school teacher, there are forums for that. If I capitalized something I might have had a reason and would prefer you not to think you know better. but if that's all you can contribute to the thread. it really proves my point

instead of concentrating on wrongly changing someones post, why not debate the subject unless changing someones post is all you want to do.

now if you decide you want to change something on this post, we will all know you really have nothing to say.

    bless your heart

I agree on the debate, everyone has their own opinions and they should be allowed to express them. Carnival charges an absurd amount of money for alcohol and I am sure someone will point out that in doing so we get cheaper fairs, however I do not see anything wrong with someone sharing the plan. If they are able to get away with it more power to them. I posted here a while back (obviously got deleted) but I have shared this package before. However, let me point out carnival made more money off me sharing then they would have normally. I am a big gambler and I get drinks for free in the Casino. Therefore I rarely buy drinks anywhere else. I will get one or two glasses of wine at most each dinner (and most nights I get a free bottle from the casino). And if it is a sea day maybe three beers at most on the lido deck. I "shared" the package with my fiance who gets just one glass of wine at dinner. Combine how much we previously spend vs what we spent the last cruise, Carnival made more money off us. So think about that!

  10. because if one person buys the package and drinks 7 or 8 or any number and the other person does not buy the cheers and pays for the drinks a la carte, Carnival makes more money.

the price point they put there was for one person. they averaged how much that person will drink. They did not think every person will drink all 15 (or they would raise the price). So if their price point considered the average person will drink 10 drinks (still a good deal), and now 15 drinks are getting consumed more often (because of sharing), they will raise the price.

You are 100% correct.... Cheers has gone up a lot since the package rolled out, however more and more people continue to share anyway still making it a good deal. They do not do a good job to prevent sharing as you can go to one bar, order a drink and then just wait your five minutes and go to another bar to order a drink. As long as you wait your five minutes you will get served.

  11. Sharing of the alcohol package is not allowed. It is meant to be used only by the person purchasing it. Those are the rules, what you do with those rules is up to you.I hope most people obey the rules.

    Laura

I see people sharing all the time. In theory the OP's post can work but if they catch you doing it I assume you may lose the package. Just like everything on Carnival plenty of people abuse things.

  12. Yes, they do. For just $3.33 each, they were a steal. However, when we ordered them on the Breeze, we were on the outside deck (right outside the doors to the pub) and it took us 45 minutes to get two appetizers. Left a bad taste in our mouth.....

    Thanks for the info!

  13. So, Carnival get's top notch performances, unlike any other cruise line, and instead of raising everyone's rates, they charge a fee, just like on land, and Just like some of their pay restaurants (Like other cruise lines)... and this upsets you?????

    How is this a downgrade?

I would imagine nothing would make you happy. You aren't being forced to see the performers, you aren't forced to pay anything else, you aren't forced to do anything... it must be rough to live in your household.

Here is the proper response: "Wow, amazing performers, but I think I'll pass"

How is this an upgrade..... Lets recap everything over the past few years...... Platinum Perk Downgrades, Food Downgrades, Entertainment Downgrades, no new ports, ships removed from NYC, Baltimore, Boston, Europe, Playlist Productions, and now a list of D list singers. Sorry but it must be rough to live in your household if you consider the above a benefit
