I can’t speak for the vendor that will be subbed out from Viator, but ItalyTours and CBM tours operators ARE allowed into the cruise port area. Signs and iPads with names, guiding you to your van/bus. My instructions clearly said DO NOT take the ship’s shuttle. I just got off the Epic Monday. I believe all the stops had us arriving before the stated time by a little bit. 9:30 was our meeting time as well and we got off about 9:10. Good luck!

Our docking said 6am but probably 5:30/45 was more like it. Self assist started about 6:15am. Do you absolutely have to check a bag at the airport? We did carry on only and noticed the airline lines were actually the longest ones. We had the fast track offered for 7 euros pp and that breezed us right through that line. Everyone has their own comfort level and I was a bit worried but it all worked out thankfully. Good luck!

We just used it on Monday morning. The line was long-ish but no one was in the fast track line so we breezed right through! We only had carry on, arrived at the airport about 7:04am, through security and PP control by 7:36. And at no point during any of flights there and back did I remove liquids FYI. Our flight was 10:20 and we had arranged private transfer back through Leader Car Service. Ship (Epic) arrived about 5:30 and we were allowed off starting at 6:15am

I just returned from Rome, traveled thru Phoenix, Dulles and Rome. At no time was I asked to remove my liquids from my carry on. As long as they’re the right size, I wouldn’t worry about the quart size bag. If you are, use 2 and split between personal item and carry on. The screener doesn’t know they’re both yours. My contact solutions were with my glass case and my liquids were all together in a gallon bag but folded.

I just sailed 19-29. I do not recall seeing any “convenience” center at the port. Out in town you may find what you’re looking for but it’s not close. Shuttles are provided to get you to the ship.

Opposite direction, port to FCO, we used Leader Car Service. Communicated thru WhatsApp and our driver was early and efficient. Used the toll road and the drive was maybe 40 minutes. Going to the port, we took the train, had carry on size only and book bags. Our AirBnB was walking distance to Termini and we had booked the intercity train pretty early, when the schedule opened; 29 euros for 2 first class tix. As an aside, try to pack with carry on only, even if you’re not using public transportation. Wear things 2-3 times, rinse if need be; you’ll be so much happier!

Not sure if you know the answer but we are doing carry on only so no need to check our bags. Will we be able to use mobile boarding passes to proceed thru PC/security? I’m also hearing someone representing the airline needs to make sure we have our passports but hoping to use the person at the gate counter (who’s to say even after the regular ticket counter my passport doesn’t become lost in a restroom?). When you reference the Lazio tracks, do you mean this looonnng walk she takes to the platform? I have IC tickets so I will NOT have to make this trek, correct? Thank you! I’ve read that the specific track is announced pretty close to boarding time; how much time are we talking approximately?
