  1. I seldom use room service. But the new charge will not change my cruising habits. I have an upcoming 9 night southern Caribbean cruise in a midship balcony. When I was deciding on the cruise, i shopped for an all inclusive land based Island getaway, with an equivalent rated accommodation. I found that even after including airfare and other expenditures I anticipate for the cruise, the land based vacation would have cost me $1000 to $1500 more for the two of us. I still find cruising a good bang for the buck , even with some of the cutbacks.
  2. Their toilet paper is much more gentle on the derrière than the newspaper in the outhouse on the farm😀
  3. You all know we are spoiled when our main complaints are bed not turned down for us, no chocolate, and no twice a day towels. Lol
  4. I know there are many who prefer a TA to manage their bookings, but I keep hearing horror stories , especially since covid started. Im sure many TA’s have had a hard time surviving. Personally i always book my vacations direct with the cruise line, airline, hotel or whatever. I control my own reservations. If there is a screwup along the way, it is usually my fault since I am my own Travel Agent.
  5. Ive been unable to sign in for a few days using Safari. No problems with Chrome and Firefox. Tells me password is wrong. Last time it happened, i clicked forgot password and created a new password. That works for a couple months and then the issue repeats itself
  6. Your calculations do not take into account the base fair for a veranda stateroom. Before you can pay for your $3000 add ons you had to first start with a stateroom that needs to be paid for. In my case the base cost of the veranda was $3250. Per person. That was free in the offer. I paid for the other items as add ons. But in the end I saved $6500. And the BCC does not offer it as free cruise. The offer is for a free veranda. It states that the guest is responsible for port tax(297.00 in my case) and gratuities (<300.00 in my case). I was also responsible for paying any other add ons I might purchase. This year, i have received three BCC offers for free veranda and I took advantage of them all. I checked the prices for the veranda stateroom and the cruise only fare for three cruises totalled $13,500 Cdn. I paid in taxes , grats and wifi a total of $2500 Cdn. So my savings was $11,000. I did play slots a little and did shore excursions. But I would have done all that even if I had purchased the cruises on my own. So I guess everyone has their own definition of free. In my case I like to call it a savings and in my case a $13500 savings
  7. If it is check in time, you wouldn't get much of a refund if you had to cancel anyway
  8. If you are talking about the current offer of 10% off you are correct. But the previous cruises i was offered were “free verandah”. In that case you would be saving whatever the cost is for that veranda as you only pay port taxes
  9. So you didnt find out whether your upgrade was $9.99 for complete cruise or $9.99 per day then?
  10. Or did she mean $9.99 per person per day. The details of the offer will probably prevail and not the one line up front typo. JMHO
  11. On our November Reflection cruise, i checked in two days after check in opened and was able to choose an 11:30 am boarding
  12. Sorry for the mountain. When I called Royal to answer the question they asked, they said they did not know how or why it came from them and they did not have access to the booking in question and I would have to deal direct with Celebrity either by phone or by Celebrity email to answer the question asked in the email. Sorry if my question was out of line
  13. So you have no problem dealing with RCCL about a booking you have with Celebrity?
  14. Yes I know I am getting the information. But the return email should I reply is to Royal Caribbean cruise lines and not to Celebrity cruises . I have cruised extensively with RCCL, Azamara and Celebrity. This is the first time where i have received emails from one of them when the cruise I have booked is with the other. In the past I have always communicated with the line I am booked with. I was not aware that their reservation departments were one in the same.
  15. So are you saying that once I made my bookings on celebrity, it is not unusual for Royal Caribbean to send me emails about my specific celebrity booking on issues such as my booked excursions, pre cruise checklist etc?
  16. I am booked on two celebrity cruises and the emails from Royal Caribbean relate directly to my celebrity booking. Things such as my excursions, precruise checklist etc.
  17. Is this something new, or did I just not notice it before? I realize they are sister companies. Lately maintenance emails for cruises I have booked with Celebrity will sometimes come from Celebritycruises.com and other times it will come from Royalcaribbean.com. Just thought it was unusual
  18. Im confused as to why the ship would be rocking, rolling and vibrating if the seas were calm. Maybe the OP could chime in with a little more information.
  19. We are doing same thing in February and plan to take taxi from Fort Lauderdale airport to our Miami Hotel. Was told it would be approx $75. So we will see. I researched shuttles with no luck and private transfer limos were much more expensive…. Because of previous experiences we no longer use uber or lyft( our personal decision)
  20. Yes i was on the previous cruise as well. I was just asking the op if maybe she was mistaken when she said they switched yesterday instead of Dec.11.
  21. Are you sure the switch was not on Dec 11, when Captain mat left instead of yesterday as you mentioned in your op
  22. Recently, i noticed on my bookings that when i clicked on manage reservation it only gave me air and no option to book shore excursions… but there is a button “plan my cruise” and when clicking on it i got to the shore excursions(
