  1. Deep apologies. I meant to go to the meet and mingle and overslept.

However, you were welcome to comment as much as you liked in my thread but I also understood wanting your own!

If I’m honest, you didn’t miss anything. There’s no meet people and mingle with them. You sit down, look at someone who’s hosting and then there’s a raffle. As soon as that’s done, everyone jumps out of their chair and rushes to the door. Quite sad really. [emoji17]

  2. There are several threads, including mine. While Ned was welcome to chime in on my, I'm prolific and is hate for him to not feel hear because he was buried in all my posts.

I would like to point out that out of your 20 pages I made 4 comments that were 1 sentence long and had nothing negative to spoil your enjoyable moment, like my enjoyable moment.

Also, if you were at the meet and mingle, you would of noticed I was a she. [emoji6] If you weren’t, never assume. [emoji16]

  3. 15-20 minute line for a drink? Seriously? That's absurd.

That was mentioned for Guest Services. I went 3 times also but the most I waited for was 7 minutes. So they must of gone at very busy times.

I never waited any longer than 4 minutes for a drink and this was rare.

The lifts were busy but I took the stairs most of the time to burn some calories. The lifts are going to be busy ‘at busy periods’. I don’t know what else you would expect.

  4. So I was also on this Cruise in room 12618. This was my first time on a large ship. Normally I'm on the smaller Carnival Ship. Generally I enjoyed it but I do have a bunch of complaints. (It may sound line I'm whining but just trying to let folks know).

    1. The wait times for the elevators were very bad and almost all times, the worst being after the muster drill. It took me almost 30 minutes to get back to my room. Normally it would take almost 5 minutes for an elevator to arrive that could accommodate my whole family (6 of us)

    2. My next issue was the lines at the WindJammer Marketplace. Once again they were very long and it was almost impossible to find a table to seat 6 of of us there. The lines at each station were very long too.

    3. Now let me talk about the refreshment package situation. I had to go complain to Guest services at least 3 times (waiting in 15-20 minute lines) because the Bar folks didn't realize how to ring up non-alcoholic drinks correctly and I kept getting charged for them.

    4. Having to book shows in advanced. Now we did this because a friend told us too, but I hated this. On a Cruise I don't want to have a schedule, I'm on vacation. I want to go to a show after I see the daily schedule and see if anything else is interesting. When I need to book a show 5 months in advance that is annoying.

    5. My Time Dining. So Every Carnival boat I've ever been on we've done My Time Dining and always gotten a seat relatively quickly. On the Oasis we'd probably wait a good 30+ minutes before being seated for Anytime dining.

    6. Shore Excursions (Clamshell Lounger for 2 - Haiti). So I don't know if its the whole beach or just the area in front of the Clamshell loungers but it was full of huge very sharp rocks and corral, a lot that are partially buried by sand. My back was all cut up after going in the water by my lounger and I didn't even want my daughter playing in the water as it would have been dangerous for her.

    7. Chop Steakhouse - Didn't find the foot all that good compared to the main dining room.

Anyways I did enjoy the cruise and obviously did have some complaints. Would they deter me from going on another larger RC ship? Probably not, but its good information to pass along.

You could of posted this as a new thread rather than mine.

  5. I just wanted to give a quick review of my recent cruise of the Oasis. Not been on this size of ship before and was a little worried.

Well, I needn't of been. I loved it. There was so much to do. I was in a Boardwalk Balcony 12293 which was tight at the end, next to the Diamond club (no where near in getting in there yet). We were covered from the elements as it rained on a couple of days. There was no noise and a brilliant view.

Because the ship had a medical emergency 2 hours of the sailing, we turned back to port to let the unfortunate people off (we did hear that they had the surgery and are a lot better). That meant that we were around 5 hours behind so the power was on for the next two days to get us to St Thomas in time. We were definitely rocking and rolling and it was felt. There were sick bags on the stairs. I was booked for yoga on the first day which was meant to take place on the helipad but it was that windy, we did the class in the Solarium. Even though the are was blocked off, people still walked through the class and decided to cancel the rest of the classes in the week.

I'm going to have to say that the food on the NCL Epic in the buffet was a lot better than the food on the Oasis. They definitely had more choice. The food in the MDR was lovely. My friend needs gluten free and was waited on hand and foot by the MDR staff, especially Jelddon (our head waiter), he was an absolute star. He would take our order for the next evening, help us at breakfast and even sit down for a chat.

We went to Johnny Rockets for one night (was in the deal with the balcony) and wasn't impressed. To much fried food swimming in grease. Stayed in the MDR for the rest of the evenings.

We only went to one of our booked shows, the comedy show. The second guy (I think his name was Rich) was better than the first.

Our Oasis Dreams was cancelled due to the rocking of the ship and would be available on the last day. We decided to watch it from our balcony as the queue was starting at 10am for a 11am showing and just couldn't be bothered standing there, waiting. Brilliant show.

We had booked for the headliner and the ice skating show but was having that much of a good time in the MDR that we missed them.

We did get to see Love and Marriage, Battle of the Sexes and my favourite, Quest. What an absolute hoot!! Do not miss these shows!!

We attended the casino on a few occasions and I wasn't that bothered about the smoke (I'm an ex smoker) but the last night was awful. My clothes and hair stunk of it. I don't know what was different that night but it wasn't good.

We visited St Thomas, San Juan and Labadee. I had been to the first two islands so we had a wonder instead. We walked up the 99 steps in blazing sunshine and 80% humidity but the views were worth it at the top. Blackbeards Tower wasn't open when we got there so a little disapponting. We got back down and then the heavens opened!! OMG, we were soaked through (at least it was warm). We had something to eat and then headed back to the ship. When you're wet and then get hit by the air con, it's freezing.

I was all set to conquer my fears of heights by doing the zip line. Got my harness on and sat around waiting for at least 20 minutes to then be told that the road had caved in at the top and wasn't passable, so we had our money refunded on to our sea pass card. We did have an all day passfor the roller coaster which was worth it for the views. It was fab.

I can't really tell you much more than I absolutley loved every minute. I am booked on the Symphony next May in the same category of cabin but more towards the back of the ship which I can not wait for now.

If you have any questions, please ask but I can't answer anything regarding bar prices or speciality restaurants as I didn't use them.

I will be uploading the cruise compass so you can take a look.

  6. Did you see drink cards for sale, and if so, how many days into the cruise.

    Day 4.

I bought the gin package which was delivered to my cabin on embarkation for £37 and totally worth it. I’ve had 2 generous gins a night and I still have some for the last night. Not spent anything on any alcohol.
