Got our traveling companions ready to go.....😆😊😂

    Bob

Bob, I'm glad the big day is finally here for you and Holli. I'm really looking forward to following along the next couple of weeks. Your traveling companions have to get a picture taken with Stanley the Bear when you get onboard the Sky Princess. Have fun!

    **Packing Update**

I’m officially done packing.  Now all I have to do is wait till Holli tells me how much room I need to make for her items.....😂😂😂

    Bob

Bob, I see it's no different at our home as yours when packing for a cruise. I always pack on the light side so I have extra room in my suitcase for Darlene's extra clothes and it's always best to never say a word about it. :classic_biggrin:

Hello to all of you. I enjoyed interacting with you prior to the cruises on CC, meeting you on the Sky and attending the M& G. What a friendly, caring group ! While I already knew people prior to the cruises, I loved adding new people  I now consider friends. What was so unusual was the willingness of all to share knowledge and news. We were all looking for price drops  and those who noticed it first posted for all to take advantage of.

No matter where I went I found friendly people. Whether I met you at zumba, line dancing, or dancing at night to the live band. I loved stopping by and talking to you and sharing a meal. I miss seeing you daily.I hope our paths will cross again. If you see me posting on CC, chime in on that roll call and tell me about your future cruises.

While we experienced a few negatives along the way but the positives far outweighed any negatives. I wished Princess had let us know they made the Wakeview bar area into private area for Cruise Planners at sail away. Then Dec.4th roll call had no place to meet and no more days to meet.

Since I returned home, we have had snow, wind and cold with more to come.Besides going to the Y daily, shoveling snow is helping me burn more calories of the few pounds I gained on the cruise.

    Sali

Hi Sali, welcome back home. I read about your delay getting back home after the cruise, what a hassle! I hope Princess doesn't close the Wake View Bar area on our Sky Princess cruise for Feb. 8th. As you know we are planning our sail away gathering there after muster drill and that would be bad timing. Please hop on over to our roll call and tell us anything you enjoyed on the Sky. Stay warm in Syracuse.

  4. Bavarian night is usually listed on the back of the Princess Patter when they have it, but you have to look closely as it's in small print along with the Horizon Court Buffet hours, same with the other food themed nights. Bavarian night is our favorite meal in the evening at the Horizon Court, I never miss it as it's fantastic!!!

  5. We used the Princess bus transfer from San Pedro to LAX this past April when we came back from our Hawaii cruise. It only took about 10-15 minutes to fill the bus. We did an early departure around 9:00 AM and it was very convenient. Several buses were lined up for other cruise passengers leaving at different times. If Princess assigns you a time a bit late or early, you can go down to the passenger service desk and change your time to your liking. I would do this a day or two before disembarkation. I booked the post transfer again from San Pedro to LAX for our Oct. Mexican Riviera cruise.

  6. Thanks for your review of the Royal. The Royal and Regal ships are our favorites in the Princess fleet. My wife and I are looking forward to our Halloween cruise on the Royal to the Mexican Riviera this fall. We will be trying out the Ocean Medallion for the first time, it should be interesting if we like it or not. I'm glad you had a pleasant time on the Royal.

  7. Thanks for your input on the Ruby Princess. We will be boarding the Ruby on Sunday to Hawaii. The 18% service fee on drinks is a bit much. I'm glad I'm not a big drinker. Now a days you have to watch what you purchase or otherwise things will add up fast on your final cruise bill. I'm glad you enjoyed your California coastal cruise though.

Sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge.....:classic_smile::classic_smile:

    Bob

Looks like construction work going on underneath the Golden Gate Bridge. The last time we went under the bridge (last March) it was foggy and rainy early in the morning, but we we're still determined to get a glimpse. San Francisco is one of our favorite port stops, enjoy your day. Here's a picture of what we saw of the bridge, but we have seen it on cruises when the conditions were perfect.

  9. Hi Bob, thanks for the names of the ship's officers. Looks like we will have the new Commodore Giorgio Pomata who took over from Commodore Giuseppe Romano last fall. Gary Golding is a new Cruise director to us. You will have to let us know towards the end of your cruise what you think of him. Have a great meal at the Crown grill tonight!

We were on a Halloween cruise on the Golden a few years ago.  Very fun, don't forget your costume.

We already decided on the day of the dead make up and costumes. We did a trial run this past Halloween. Here we are below. This will be our third Halloween cruise, so much fun!!!

  11. Really enjoyed your review with pictures. We will be on the Ruby Princess come March 24th to Hawaii and also on the Royal Princess doing your same itinerary to the Mexican Riviera during Halloween. I was interested in what you did in Cabo by taking the glass bottom boat to the arches and then Medano Beach.  I liked that you said it was only a 25 minute walk back to the tender port area . We plan to do the same thing, so thanks for the info.

    Cheers - Ken & Darlene
