They closed the MDR because there were only a handful of guests at best.
I remember having breakfast five years ago and there only being twelve for breakfast.
Dreadful waste really but I personally like a quiet breakfast with nobody to annoy me.😁
There has only ever been five stars in the real world.
I was in Dubai recently and two hotels are boasting seven stars.
Who invents this rubbish.
It's a bit like when people say that they are giving 110% 😀
You don't really need your phone and can do almost anything on the ship by other means.
I have the app but don't bother to use it on board.
I like to leave my phone in the safe unless I am going ashore.
I much prefer a Penthouse suite on the Encore/Ovation it is large enough for the two of us and is also good value.
Anything larger on these ships would be a waste for us.
It actually doesn't take much working out from a business point of view why they close it.
The MDR does remain open on longer cruises.
I only eat breakfast in the MDR so if its not open then I don't have breakfast.
I never eat lunch on a ship.
Perhaps the reason is that Silversea make money one way and not the other way.
We all know that cruise lines charge the earth for add ons.
I like to book my own air and own tours but I'm not the most profitable client for a cruise line until that is when I get on board as I only buy wines from the list and never have an included wine.
I'm fine with that.
You needed to nip in the bud all of the poor service issues that you had by going to see the Hotel Director.
This always gets issues resolved.
Sounds like you encountered some lazy staff who couldn't be bothered to go and get the lemons.
This is not usual and is definitely not the Seabourn way.
I know it wouldn't have happened to me.
Ceasars Palace in Dubai pump bottle also.
It is so much easier than trying to find how to get the cap off a small bottle when you have water running down your face and it's early and you haven't had your first coffee yet.
