  1. Did you hear a lot of noise from above? I looking to book a cove balcony on the breeze.

I didn't hear a thing from our cabin. I think our cabin was under the Lobby area and not under the galley. A few people on here complain about their cabin being under the galley and hearing noises. The only noise I heard was the splashing of the waves while I was out on the balcony :). I fell in love with the cove. So peaceful.

  2. Our secret for this problem is the following. We will go up to go down, or sometimes down to go up. Basically we travel the opposite direction, until the elevator has stopped going that direction. We then hit the floor we want and pass usually pass by the folks still waiting on the floor we embarked on. We do this after a few tries of going the direction we want, unless the elevator stops in front of us, it is going the direction we want, and has room for us. After being on the Oasis class as much as we have been, this trick helps during peak times, such as after muster drill, right after a show ends, and disembarkation day.

We also do this at hotels if need be. It also works on cruise ships that have less numbers, such as when we sailed on the Island Princess. We also walk when it is just a few floors, but not everyone can or is able to do this.

EDIT: On Oasis Class ships if you are headed the "wrong" direction and you hit the floor you want it will not remember your floor stop. It deletes it, until you are headed the direction that you intended to travel.

We actually figured this out towards the middle of the cruise and it worked like a charm.

  3. But, I keep reading all these posts about crowding and long lines, and it has me scared. So, I am just asking all of you who have reported problems with crowds or lines at MDR, buffet, flowrider, etc. if you would please share some pictures showing those lines and letting us know how often you encountered those lines and crowds on your cruise. I am seriously only wanting to get an idea of what you considered to be the problem so I can decide if it is something that would be a problem for me and my daughter.

During our cruise, there were 6,200 people on board and, at times, certain places were crowded. Waiting for an elevator was HORRIBLE! You would hit the button and wait, and wait, and wait till finally one arrived.....only to be fully packed with people. Another passenger told me that it normally wasn't THIS bad. So, I figured it was just my week's passenger capacity and said oh well (but it was still frustrating).

Another busy area was the Promenade Cafe and Sorrento's later in the evening to grab something to eat. Since those are the only 2 places (I believe) that are open after a certain time, it tends to be long lines.

We only encountered a crowd on the last sea day at the buffet because we waited until the last minute to get breakfast. But the wait to get in was only about 10 minutes and the staff found us a table right away.

As you stated yourself, the shows, parades, etc. was crowded but that is expected. Please do not let the possibility of long lines and crowds keep you away from an Oasis class ship. The fun will definitely outweigh a few minutes of crowding. Your daughter will have a fantastic time. And you will too! :D

  4. My family also loved the Thrill Theater! It's a way better deal to buy the week pass. The Rides show was our favorite! We saw it a couple times because we liked it so much. Spongebob....not my favorite, but my kids laughed all the way through it.

Also, we never stood in line during our cruise in June.

Seems like they still have the same shows that played when I was on Breeze last year. The Rides show was my favorite as well.

OP- Definitely get the week's pass....it's worth it.

  5. Thank you! I loved your video!

Very good video! You did a great job of depicted the different happenings and ports on the Oasis. It brought back memories. However we didn't go to Famouth when we sailed on Oasis several years ago after she just came out. I think our cabin was very near yours too!

We will go going to Falmouth this October on the Navigator so thanks for capturing some of it on video!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you both enjoyed the video.

Enjoy the Navigator.....i'll be on her soon enough.

  6. I stayed in 10729 and my boys stayed in 10727. You're only several cabins down from these, so I think your view will be just fine.

I'm not sure of your current cabin's couch placement, but 10729 (couch near balcony) and 10727 (bed near balcony). I'm assuming the set-up alternates so your cabin (10721) "should have" the couch near the balcony.

Your view should be the same:

  7. LOVE the cove balcony! Close to the water, more private than a regular balcony, balcony seemed slightly bigger than a regular sized balcony, and our cabin (2264) gave us a nice view of the pier runners. It amazes me how many people are late returning to a ship

I'm sure you've already seen videos and photos of the cove, but if you haven't check out my link below.....

  8. I did some research for you and it said "For emergency situations, you need to make an appointment and visit the nearest Atlanta passport agency or apply through a registered expediter such as Fastport Passport to get a passport fast."

    Atlanta Passport Agency

230 Peachtree St NW, Suite 1000

    Atlanta, GA 30303

"Passports are issued according to travel plans. Same-day passports are issued in emergency situations."

    Automated Appointment Number

    (Available 24 hours/7 days)

    1-877-487-2778

Your situation is just terrible and I truly hope that you're able to get the passport somehow. Give the number above a call and see what happens. If going to Atlanta is too much, I would definitely get another birth certificate asap.

    Good luck to you!

  9. Holiday Inn - Port of Miami was great. Directly across the street from stores and restaurants. You can even see the view of all ships docked at the port (if you're high up enough).

If you're looking for a fancy hotel, this would not be the place. All I needed was a good location to stores/restaurants, clean, comfort and close to the port. Holiday Inn did that for me.

  10. It's not often when RCI has a GOOD sale, so I would say go for it if it's a good deal. I can't speak for Brilliance of the Seas, but I recently tried my 1st RCI cruise (booked on a good sale 2 years in advance) on Oasis and it was an amazing experience. There were a few differences in Carnival and RCI, but for the most part they were very similar. It's good to branch out and experience new things. I'm sure you'll have a great time!

  11. I just recently had my 1st Royal cruise on Oasis and I was expecting an atmosphere completely different because all I kept reading was how Royal was SO much better than Carnival. Well, there were a few differences, but honestly it was pretty much the same as Carnival. Both lines have good entertainment, but definitely better on Oasis. Both lines have good food, but oh how I missed my chocolate melting cake. Both lines love to party and i've seen drunk people on Oasis too :D. Shocking, huh? LOL

I am one that likes to try new things and Oasis of the Seas was a very good start into the RCCL world. Norwegian is in my future too!
