  1. Next Nov we are staying overnight at the Hyatt Place on 17 Street Convention Center. I am sure others more familiar with FLL will stop in and recommend others. I have read this area is a good place to stay and not far from the airport.

Another vote for Hyatt Place! This is where we stayed the night before our Oasis cruise. They do have shuttle service to/from the airport (but we didn't use it) and they do have shuttle service to the port (again, we didn't use). Great location with many stores and/or restaurants close by.

  2. Thanks for your reply.

I was kind of guessing that was the case. They are so low down the ship, the angle would have to be perfect. Plus, it's not like we will be in our room during the day.

I'm kind of struggling on whether to pay an extra $400 for the cove, or just get an inside on an upper deck closer to the food and pool.

*whispering in your ear* Go ahead and get the cove!

  3. If you book a show and don't go, then do you just have to show up for another night and hope there are open seats? I don't like the idea of pre booking because I have no idea if I'm in the mood for a show until that evening.

We were booked for a show, but called down to customer service to switch the reservation day because we wanted to do something else that evening and it took seconds to complete.

  4. Planning on Oasis next April, have been on Carnival three times now and want to try Oasis. Its a gigantic ship so I don't know what to pick. Have always had balcony cabins mid ship on carniv:confused:al. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ha.....while you hopped on the Breeze, I was hopping on Oasis (my 1st Royal Caribbean cruise) and I'm typically a Carnival cruiser that aims for mid ship balcony cabins as well. We chose a Boardwalk Balcony Cabin just to do something different with a different view other than just looking at the ocean. We were on deck 10 with cabin 10729 and you had an ocean view, aquatheater view, boardwalk view, rock climbing wall view and could even see people ziplining above. I absolutely loved this cabin location and would book it again in a heartbeat.

If you haven't see the views from these cabins, take a look:

  5. It all depends on how much you want to spend. Definitely get a variety of prices for different scenarios.

On our Breeze trip, mom and I had a cove balcony and my boys were across the hall in an interior cabin. Worked great!

In past cruises, we have had 2 balcony cabins side-by-side but the best one was when we had the connecting ocean view cabins. It just made the cabin seem SO much bigger and we had that extra toilet if needed. We kept the doors open for the most part, but when it was time to sleep and/or get dressed, we closed the door.

We always calculated the cost and chose the cheaper option at the time. Catching a good sale is great! I think we would go crazy if all 4 of us were in a cabin (none of us pack lightly ), but maybe one day we will give it a try.

  6. I keep up with things at home by texting onboard.

I turn the phone on and check for incoming texts a couple of times a day.

With AT@T it has always been 50 cents for each outgoing text and the incoming texts are no charge.

    Agree with this^^^

AT&T plans are only good for the actual ports/land. While you're out at sea and it says "cellular at sea", it will charge $0.50 for outgoing texts. It's free for incoming texts. I usually tell family at home to keep me posted and text me, so when I periodically turn on and check my phone daily....I'll know what's going on. I do purchase the $30 texting/cruise package and I normally send most of my texts during a port day, but at least 1 daily while out at sea.

  7. Another vote for Breeze. Breeze will offer you many more things to do during your cruise. And because you've already sailed a conquest class ship that almost has the same things as Conquest.....you'll have a different experience with Breeze.

    Whichever you choose......Happy Sailing!!!!!

  8. I'm currently in room 11701.

Most of the time, I can't feel the ship moving at all. Other times, like right now, it feels like the boat is vibrating or trembling. It's not a rocky feeling, so even though I get seasick easily, I don't really mind.

As someone else said, unless you close the curtains, there's not really much privacy. I can easily look out from the balcony and see what people who haven't closed their curtains are doing.

My room is somewhat far from the Aquatheatre, so I can't get a clear view from my balcony. I can hear it loud and clear though, so at night it's still quite loud. I don't mind it too much though.

There was also a photo of someone's room earlier with the bed near the balcony. Both my family's room and a friend's room have the bed near the closet and a couch (that turns into a bed) next to the balcony. We have 4 people living in each room though, so it may be just for 4-people rooms? Here are some photos I just took.

Let me know if there's anything you'd like me to take a photo of.

I think I can tolerate vibrating and trembling. The swaying is what got to me during a past cruise that I've taken. It was so bad that I had to go to my cabin to lay down for awhile and I felt nauseous. While cruising on Carnival Breeze, the swaying motion affected me just a tad when I was up on the top deck but it was just for that particular day. Rough seas, I guess. But I'm so, so glad to hear that not much movement goes on on the Oasis.

You might be a little further back, but the view is still great.

Thank you SO much for the photos!!! Very helpful.

If you can, would you mind taking a picture of the bathroom? Call me weird, but I'm just curious to see how the shower looks. I am hoping that it doesn't have the shower curtain that seems to stick to my body  like i've experienced on the Carnival ships sailed thus far.

Also, does the safe have a keypad with a pin number or you swipe a card to use?
