Ouch. I'm sure NCL are not too "joyful" about that scratch!

Simplistically, yep. They rotate 360 degrees and will push the ship away from the wall.
Would be a shame to put a dent in a shiny new ship!

Agreed.
Although the ride is somewhat smoother, I think they've moved into the "go as fast as we can" mode.
What's the fastest recorded speed on an Oasis class again?

She's testing out her azipods.
Right up against the sea wall?

She not really got very far.
Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Hi all.
Check out this close up of some manoeuvres she was doing overnight.
Their really putting her through her paces!

Same layout as Oasis and Allure, only the solarium is an additional deck. So the area that's open (Oasis and Allure) is now part of the solarium.
Kids club is "behind" the Solariums lowest level.

Hey I see you were on the Anthem with us June 1st last year to Spain, Portugal and the Canaries, what a lovely ship Anthem is. We will be on the Harmony in June and August this year, cannot come soon enough !!
Agreed, Anthem is one hell of a ship.
Allure was even better.
I'm sure Harmony will be just as fantastic.

Hi there you beautiful thing!
On allure the prints aren't displayed, but are printed and in a folder. Your "group" will have a specific folder, shown on your card and can be viewed at the photo shop.
There are plenty of opportunities to have your picture taken, sometimes a que, sometimes not. Don't miss your chance to have a pic taken with the classic car on the Royal promenade.
Didn't buy a package, so can't help you with that sorry.

Hi there.
I've sailed Anthem, Allure and Epic (plus Jade)
Excuse the writing style (it's late and I should get to bed)
Epic's a nice ship but there's not enough public spaces in lounges and bars. I cruised with my DW and our mums so finding 4 seats in a bar was impossible. Largest lounge (Bliss) the bar didn't open till 5PM.
Food, not a massive food snob (not a dig at anyone) but I think Royal was (very) slightly better. However Cagney's, the steakhouse was excellent. The cirque Dreams and dinner show is one of the best thing I've seen on a cruise ship. BOOK IT NOW!!!!
Entertainment. I've seen better acts on Royal, Spectra's Caberet on Anthem and Ocean Aria on Allure but overall Epic was better because EVER act was a very high standard. Burn the floor is fantastic, Priscilla again fantastic and the Epic Beatles rocked it every time. All the other acts were great too.
Ship layout. Epic imo is poor. We were in the Med in Feb so the pool deck was really out of use so all other areas were really busy (as I said above re: bars) "The largest Casino at sea" is a waste of space. Table after table and machine after machine not been used. And to get anywhere usually meant you had to walk through it. Both Anthem and Allure spread the passengers better. And of course, the sink in the cabin issue!
Service, equal. You'll always get one or two who aren't quite right (a bad day, or maybe bad news from home) but 3 square meals, entertainment and transport to the next amazing port is all that matters to me.
For me Royal has it. We still had a fantastic Epic cruise, but we alway do; because your on a cruise, would you prefer to be working?

Those who suggest walking there on our own: Can you walk from the cruise terminal to St Mark's Square? Or do you mean we can walk to Piazzale Roma instead of taking the People Mover, and then catch a Vaporetto from there?
Either. Personally I'd take the people mover, cross to Piazza Roma and walk from there. Or you can get a Vaporetto from there.

Walk.
As you say take the people mover and then just wander through the delightful "streets" of Venice. You can't get lost, there's plenty of signs for Piazza Marco. And others such as Rialto bridge. Shop, have a drink or a plate of pasta.
Just be careful of the people mover closing time. It's walkable, but you'll have done a few miles already by then.

It cannot be easy to live under a microscope such as Cruise Critic, knowing that anything you say or do becomes instant "news".
Even more reason to not react the way they did!
My 2cents. Small slice or not, CC is a % of their customers so smile, and be polite, regardless how you feel.

Hi Louise.
Enjoy your cruise. Looking forward to your pics and views. How did you manage to get on-board?
And one word of warning. You better keep her neat and tidy for my 4 nights from the 22nd! [emoji3]

The issue is not the total weight of the people in the capsule, it's the weight limit per person for the harness/rope line that you'd have to go down to evacuate in the event North Star became stuck.
Exactly.
One one of my rides the operator explained the height minimum was also for the safety harnesses. Kids too small could just slip out of the straps. Not something you want to happen on an escape attempt.

Isn't the spa just space rented out by cruise lines to 3rd parties?
If so, a free day as a perk would cost the line money, not very likely to happen.

Mixed feelings!! It looks cool and scary! :D
Cool. No doubt about it.
The only problem with these glass floors are they, unintentionally, become foggy with scratches.
Not my photo: -
I'll try and get a clear photo on the maiden!

Great news. We also get the Priscilla Queen of the desert show and Burn the floor show. So excited.:D
We went to Burn the Floor twice. Fantastic. Would have done Priscilla again if we could have fitted it in.
Don't miss the Beatles either. Couple of shows in the theatre and loads in the Cavern Club.
-
I think there was a mistake.
Must have thought you were D+ and you got the complimentary Sex Toy Perk.
Nice one. Now everyone will want one!

Hi there.
Just off the Epic 2 weeks ago. I have to say the entertainment was, overall, the best we've had.
If you can, download the iConcerge (sp) app. A lot of the entertainment you can't pre-book can be booked through the app as soon as you get onboard.
The Epic Beatles will play a couple of shows in the theatre (as well as most nights in the Cavern Club)
We had a ventriloquist, and the Motown Men in the theatre also. Of course, you will have different acts.
In the headliners club, we had a comedian, a 4 piece male harmony group, a Gypsy Kings tribute band and the usual howl at the moon. Some, but not all, were bookable through the app. Or your cabin TV.
Cirque Dreams and dinner, is probably the best show I've seen on a cruise ship. It's extra fee, but worth every penny.

So, if I buy the $15 a day package for one device, say my ipad, can I log out, and then use the same log in for my iphone? As long as I only log in with one device at a time. Right? (I am Emerald, so I'm guessing I get no discount)
Schhhhh....
Keep it quiet, but I was able to connect with 3 devices on the single device package! That was on the TA last Oct.

On our second cruise the movie Poseidon was shown on our first night at sea.
Was that on the safety instructions channel? [emoji3]
-
Have they mentioned how much the port fees are?
I did not bother so far because I expected it to be less than 10€
Hi there.
€12, but it's not about the value, it's the customer service element. It would appear head office have made the decision to not auto-refund, probably in the hope people don't ask. American passengers are been told no refund, because there wasn't any port chargers for Chivitchevecia (sp) on "this cruise" not sure what that's about.
4,100 passengers is just short of €50,000. Is that enough money to frustrate that number of passengers?
Last year on the Jade we missed Katakolon and the port fees were refunded automatically.

Quantum class is fantastic. Oasis class is phenomenal.
Best of both worlds? Harmony this May for me.
