That is correct, I was referring to the old cancellation policy as that determines how much is fully refundable and how much is applied as a FCC.

I cancelled my April 4th sailing last Friday and rebooked for July 25th. Because I was in the 55 to 30 day window window my cruise fare was 50% refundable. They applied the 50% non refundable cruise fare as a credit on the new sailing and refunded the other 50% of the cruise fare plus taxes, port fees to my CC. I also had to pay the deposit for the new cruise but that will be covered with the refund.

We are on a 4 day, with final payment due March 22 for our May 21 sailing, due 60 days before sailing (before they recently changed it to 75days) The only thing that we have paid is the deposit. Our deposit is a non refundable casino offer. You are saying that if I call to cancel now, then I should get the $50 deposit per person back as FCC per each person? I am just trying to partially understand this before i try calling and spend potential hours on the phone.

The issue some on rcl are having is for instance a grandson is booked this time but wouldnt be booked next time, but each pax gets a fcc issued in his name on the booking.

They wish the whole fcc went to the person who paid the current booking.

I'd be curious how carnival is handling the cancellations. I'm watching rates on carnival to see if I can squeeze in one on them too.

That is our issue too. We have 16 of us going on a cruise May 21 out of Charleston. Our final payment date is March 22, and we can get a FCC by March 31. If we reschedule, at least 4 of of our group can't do it again my March 31, 2021.

So the FCC goes to the person only? If that is the case, as bad as I had to jump the gun so soon, I think we are better off not paying our final payment and losing the $50 deposit than risk losing $450 a person the the FCC that may not be able to get used.

  3. Last time we cruised, we selected our check in time as soon as we booked. Now I see it can't be done until you are three months out. A few questions if anyone knows the answer:

    - Does it open at midnight on the date that it opens?

    - Does the cruise have to be paid in full before selecting a check in time?**

    - Does all the names have to be filed in for each cabin before selecting a check in time? **

**We have a group going, and one cabin is split families. I made the booking, and only paid the deposit, because I am concerned that the two family members in the cabin being shared may not pay their portion before the final payment date (which is a month after check in selection time). If they don't pay, then we have someone else on stand by to take their place, which is the reason I haven't filled in passenger names yet.

Not true - see my reply above.  We had 2 twin beds and a pullman on the Ecstasy, no couch, and I THINK, but not positive, all fantasy-class ships are like that when there are 3 people in a cabin.  The ship's deck plans have symbols that tell you what type of beds are in each cabin.

That is because only suites on the fantasy have couches....

  5. The sofa bed isn't like a traditional sofa bed that you think of at home. I am 6'2" and 275 and have slept on the pull down and sofabed. Both are just as comfortable as the actual bed.

I think if the cabin as a sofa, it is used as bed 3. Most if not all ocean view and balconies (besides Fantasy class ships) have couches.

  6. We stayed in Kingsland, GA last time we cruised out of Jax. It is right inside of GA about 45 minutes from port. Plus, the price that we paid plus parking was the same that we would have paid at a park and cruise hotel, and it didn't involve waiting for a shuttle coming or going. We stayed at a County Inn and Suits right at the interstate.

  7. On the same Freedom trip mentioned above, someone was on the long deck outside of guest services leaning all over the railing taking pictures of the ships spray coming up. The wooden rail came loose and the person was almost a goner. I don't know how he caught himself, but he did. He ran and told guest services that he almost fell over. They went running and roped the area off for the cruise.
