  1. I agree Sarasota is really nice. A nice beach right near St. Armand's circle is a great way to spend the day. If you go, be sure to go to the Chocolate shop ( forgot name ) they have huge chocolate covered apples with nut coatings and such. Yummy

  2. Hi all...

We are interested in a day trip to Bohio Resort in a few weeks. We understand that a taxi can take us there for $7. per person. We are curious to know if taxi's are readily available for the return trip? Do you need to make arrangements for a pick-up in advance? Are they available whenever needed? Can a call be made for a ride request' date=' if nothing else?

Thanks in advance for your response...

Is the $7. figure still accurate?

I used the taxi at $8.00 one way to Bohio back in November and we told him what time to come back and get us and he was very prompt.

  3. Had him on the Legend and thought he was pretty good. Considering he is the only Cruise Director I remember from all of my cruises, I'd say he made a postive impact on our cruise. I certainly think he will do a good job for you.

I agree, he is the only one I remember as well. Loved hearing his Scottish accent first thing in the morning!

  4. Do they still serve smoked salmon at breakfast or am I "LIVING IN THE PAST" ?

I have it delivered in the morning from room service and enjoy on the balcony with my Coffee with Baileys! I usually ask for extra capers!

Oh and the Eggs Benny with Salmon is really good in the MDR.

  5. Does Carnival not offer this on their website anymore? I'm trying to put a hold on two rooms (as I've done before without issue) for Nov 15, 2015 and there's no option to place them on hold on the lower right of the screen anymore.

I need to change our cruise dates because I didn't realize that I was being dumb when booking the Nov 29, 2015 cruise and didn't take into account the higher cost in airfare for that weekend. It's cheaper to pay the change in cruise date fee than the difference in airfare. I was hoping to hold the rooms that we want ahead of time to be sure they're available tomorrow while I confirm with my job that I'm able to change the dates for vacation. Does anyone know if the 24 hour hold is still available and I'm just missing something?

I was told that if you previously placed a hold for the same ship and sailing you cannot place another one online. I had called because I noticed that the option was no longer showing and a carnival Rep told me I could not place another hold. I am not sure if you did this or not.

  6. I never been on princess but was to by a friend that it is more upscale. She also stated she liked the food better. She do feel carnival had more activities. I have only sailed Carnival and loved every minute of it. I do have to say I'm looking to cruise ports I never have, so I'm booked for April 4 on Valor to Aruba, Bonaire as well as grand Turk. Are you cruising with Children? They may have more activities on Carnival, after all it is the Fun ship!

  7. So sorry for your DS moms foreclosure. But, if the balance is not paid in full the cruise room for your son will be cancelled when not paid by final due date. You may be able to pay single supplement for him or have him bunk with you,

if you have a room that accommodates three persons. I would call and explain or if you have the extra funds perhaps lend it to the friends son and have him cut your lawn or do work for you to pay it back. Sorry there is not a happy answer.

  8. I was on the Victory in November and the deli was open for lunch. The buffet was not bad, I had pot roast that was delicious. You will hear many opinions but the best will be your own. Try it and don't be afraid to try something you never hard, you may like it. BTW, the new pizza's are excellent and worth the wait.

  9. I hate to admit, but I spend that money in the Casino. Not 1000, but between myself and my husband we have at times. BUT, you spend on something tangible and we take away nothing half the time. We do buy drinks and a portrait here and there but never 1,000 worth. We do get the casino offers quite often. Others posters have stated that they too get these offers and don't spend in the casino at all.

  10. Congrats on your DH's retirement. The Victory is a great ship. It does not have the 2.0 upgrades, but that does not make a cruise for me. The serenity deck is very nice on this ship. As for Cozumel, catch a taxi into town if you want shopping or go to a beach club such as Mr. Santos for a nice day in the sun. Depending on how much time you have in port, you can take the water taxi over yo Playa Del Carmen. Do some research online or search these forums. There is tons of information here on CC. Either way Welcome back and enjoy your cruise.
