Ohh my 6 year old LOVED Camp Carnival. One of the camp leaders Lurvinia was awesome. She remembered my sons name and my name and greeted me with a hug each day.

I was on the same cruise. Amber Cove was amazing!!! Other than the winds and high waves the first two days everything else was wonderful.

Can't wait to see/read more of your review.

I have never heard them speak of any motion sickness problems but they have never cruised however they do fly often so I'm thinking they should be okay [emoji53]

After we ate, we decided to bring some food to the ladies. But when we opened their room, they had the lights off, and they kicked us out faster than we could close the door. Later in the morning we found out we actually woke my mom up, sorryyy :D.
We went back to the casino for one more game, but did not last long there. I think he lost $20 faster than it took to put the money in the machine.
We went back to the room and got ready to go to bed. I believe it was around midnight. Ohhhh, I forgot, there are no clocks on this ship! I highly recommend you bring a watch with you, or you will find yourself asking for the time all day. That is exactly what happened to us. For some reason once I put my phone in Airplane mode, the clock got all messed up and it kept changing. Like I said, I will never get Android. So essentially we had no clock, every so often I ask people around me for the time.
I went out to the balcony and played some tunes to relax a little while looking at the stars. This is one of my favorite things to do on a cruise, and one of the main reasons that I get a balcony. Just to be able to wind down at night listening to what I want (at a low level of course, I don't want to wake up anyone). It is your very own piece of paradise. In addition to that, it is one of the few times that I actually get to stargaze.
Day One End.
Wow that was all in day one.[emoji3]. Awesome review! Thank you for taking the time to share.

Thank you for your replies. I really not worried about DH,DS and I but we have 2 new cruisers that will be joining us and I want to make sure they are comfortable.

My husband and I have gone on several cruises and have always had a midship cabin. This year we are taking family with us (5 rooms) and we all have balconies and we all wanted to be very close to each other and the only way to do that was to go deck 6 forward. So my question is how much motion will we feel vs. a midship cabin.

Following..
We are going the week of Thanksgiving also. I would also like to hear feedback from others.

Where is Drew Devine once he leaves the Oasis? IMO he was an awesome CD!!

I'm thinking since Carnival corp owns Half Moon, this is due to Carnival just finalizing their schedules. They most likely have a good idea about HM, but haven't fully decided the exact dates/maybe ships to some point to serve there. Half Moon Cay is on my short list of places to sail to. A friend of mine just raved about it when she was there a while back. Pictures were amazing.

Looking at the Port Canaveral schedule for summer 2016, there are no ships that will stop at Half Moon Cay? Why[emoji16]

Is there a Family Promenade room on The Navigator?

Thanks again everyone. I do have to ask.... What is the menu like in the MDR on Thanksgiving day. Is it the typical turkey and stuffing?

Thank you for all of your responses. You have help me come to my decision. We are going to do a 6 day that week instead of a 4 day on Indy. There may be a better chances of less kids with the longer cruise.
Please keep sharing your experiences.

Just a suggestion that I have read many times on the CC forums. Get a room that is not connecting for one thing. And, also don't be next to a room that has a sofa bed with Pullman beds. In other words, rooms where kids will use Pullman beds and sleeper sofa. Also, remember there is an adults only solarium. When we were on Indy Dec 2013, they asked and I.d. All kids and everyone under 16 wasn't allowed. A couple moms and dads were ticked off BC their 14/15 year old son couldn't sit with them. Felt bad, but the solarium is adults only for a reason. So, you can always seek solitude at the solarium and also at the specialty restaurants. We all loved Indy and best cruise we have ever had...2 in our 50's, 4 in their 20's.

My wife and I cruised on the Emerald Princess on a 10 day Thanksgiving cruise. NEVER AGAIN. Close to 1000 kids on board, but it was not the kids who were he problem. It was the parents. Nothing brings out family dis function like a holiday. There was not one night at dinner that we did not witness one or more loud verbal fights, arguments or hissy fits.
Our main waitress, a lovely girl from Romania, had a bit of a breakdown with 2 nights to go because she had two large tables with one extended family at both. Some of the worst public behavior by adults I have ever seen.
My $0.02, I would not take cruise virgins on a Holiday cruise.
Mike
Yeah I was afraid of that. It's just that my SIL is a teacher and it's either the the Holiday weeks, i.e. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring break or pay double the price to go during the summer.

What is the weather like traveling to the Caribbean?

We are looking at Indy for thanksgiving week and I need to be convinced I am making the right decision.
Here is the situation.... I will be traveling with first-time cruisers. They are excited but they have a few concerns. They really want to rest and relax that week but are concerned that it will be too many children running everywhere. They are also concerned that it will be too cold during Thanksgiving week.
Please help me convince them. Please share your Thanksgiving Caribbean cruise experience.

Is it me, or am I the only one who read this and thought, "are they really bringing fried chicken on board RC ships?"

They gave us one of our choices, yes. I don't know about upgrades, we were pleased with Carnival Fantasy. It left from the port we chose so we didn't have to fly, we drove.
Thanks. I hope it works our for us.

Wanted to let everyone know that our cruise went well! We had a wonderful time! We were skeptical about the Spirit Incentives deal also, but it worked out great! You have to be flexible with your dates but it's well worth it! It was a belated honeymoon and first cruise for both of us. Would definitely do it again!
So do they not honor your chosen dates? Also can upgrade to a different ship?

Turn your thermostat in the house to 85 and walk around in your shorts and T-shirts and play Caribbean music while serving frozen drinks with umbrellas in them. When your son arrives to your house not only will he get his surprise gift that atmosphere will get him in cruise mode. [emoji484]
