  1. You could just spend a quiet day with the kids on board. They would have the run of the pool and kids club with hardly anyone around . You don't say the age of your kids.

If you do go ashore , why not rent a cabana for the group. There will shade , snacks and pop supplied as well.

We have a 4,5 and 12 year old.

  2. There is a video up on a very popular video sharing site. I don't know if I can say y o u t u b e. But any rate it is labeled like the topic of this thread. It is the first I have seen that shows a lot of the upgrades from the carnival freedoms dry dock.

    Thanks... Freedom looks great!

  3. Hi everyone!

I'm on the editorial team over at Cruise Critic, and I will be onboard the newly refurbished Carnival Freedom on June 22 to check out its brand-new Fun Ship 2.0 amenities, Seuss at Sea, and a number of other firsts for the line. One of the programs debuting on Freedom is Camp Ocean, a marine-themed kids program that will eventually replace Camp Carnival.

I wanted to put this post out there for anyone who had a question about Camp Ocean, as I will be doing a Q & A with staff onboard. I will also be updating the full ship review, posting blogs about Seuss programs and the ship, updating some port info and putting together a slideshow! But if there are any other questions about the new programs or features on the ship, just shoot and I will see what I can find out. I won't return home until July 1, but if there is enough interest, we may also host one of our live chats either from the ship or shortly after.

Thanks! I look forward to your questions and comments.

    Thank you for your post.

My question is what different activities will Camp Ocean will have as oppose to Camp Carnival?

Is the Seuss Bookville just an area to sit and read or will the they have activities or character in there.

Also if you can bring pictures that will be great.

  4. We just got off of the Freedom this morning. This was our first time on the Freedom, so I'm not sure what it was like before.

We didn't notice much construction. On embarkation day, they had the slide close and were waing it. It was opened that day I believe. The aft adult only hot tubs were closed for two days and repainted. They were operating again by the end of the cruise. Deck 11 Fwd was roped off for what looke like was going to possibly be a kids play area.

I will try to post a review. I'm not into posting those very deatailed reviews with pics like some people. Hopefully my SD card will still work. I decided to take my camera for a swim with me while in Grand Cayman.

    Looking forward to your review.

  5. We are on the Freedom this summer and would like to book a cruise on the Dream.

Questions?.... Do I need to give them a date?

How much is the deposit for an 8 day?

How much OBC can we expect to get?

I guess most important does the Freedom have a future cruise desk?

Thanks in advance for your input.

  6. Just finished a Guy's Burger for lunch and going to head down to my cabin. Had AC issues at hotel last night, but I survived. Left hotel at 11:45ish on shuttle and was in line at Port Everglades at 12:05, lines went quickly was in zone 13 and on board at 1:00. Went to GS to ask about cabin closer to elevator and was told none avail at this time and possibly not later, I won't ask again..I'll be ok. Btw to whomever asked about the ramp to get on board...there was a very steep ramp from port building up to ship, never experience such a ramp on any other cruise on any other line, having to pull my carry-on wore me out and I had to stop half-way and rest. I plan in taking a lot of pictures but not sure anything will be uploaded before I get home. Key West tomorrow so I can update about first night!

Enjoy your cruise. Can't wait for the review and pics. :D:D:D
