  1. I believe he is being truthful. My table mates on a recent cruise were on their 2nd free cruise (from the casino) and had a 3rd booked a couple of months later. They really didn't gamble excessively, but definitely more than me.:( No free cruise, ever, for me.

  2. Sometimes, Carnival will call you with an offer. Usually it's when the price of your current room has dropped and it won't cost much more for a higher category. Other times, people check rates daily or weekly, and when they see the price has dropped, they ask for on board credit or an upgrade to a room in a higher category. Rarely (but it does happen) people are moved to a higher category at no cost. I was lucky enough to have that happen to me. I'd booked an inside cabin, but when I got to the port, they had moved me to a Jr. Suite. I've never figured out why that happened, but I certainly enjoyed the room.

  3. They were out of platinum gifts when I was on the cruise in November...they told me that they were mailing mine...I filled out the form...and wrote on there for the Tervis Tumbler if possible.....and it took a couple of months but I did receive mine in the mail.:)

Great. It was November for me as well. Perhaps I should call again. It's been over 4 months.:(

  4. I really am sorry about your disappointing cruise. Unfortunately, the contract you accept when booking clearly states that Carnival can change or remove ports as necessary. I know Nassau is nowhere near as nice as Cozumel so I would have been sad about that as well. Over the years, I have been on many, many cruises where ports were changed (or deleted) after we were on the cruise. I have never received compensation, except for port fees when we missed the port entirely. I hope your next cruise is much better and you have a fabulous time.:D

  5. Has anyone been told the ship was out of Platinum gifts and they would be mailing it? They had me fill out a form back in November and said the gift would be mailed. It is now the end of March and still no gift. I called Carnival and they said the 'shipment' had been delayed and I should receive it in a few weeks. Any others had this happen?

  6. It's been many years since I sailed out of Seattle, but it was Pier 91 when I did.

I forgot to mention, we had gotten conflicting reports before we flew out there, but the minute we told the cab driver what ship we were sailing on, he drove us right there. Very easy.

  7. Do you get a huge savings booking same day the ship sails out?

It really depends on the ship, etc. On our Ecstasy cruise, we rode the shuttle with a mother and daughter who booked the night before, drove all night from Kentucky, and parked in the same remote lot as we did. They paid $139 per person and had no idea where their cabin would be. At that price, I wouldn't care either.
