    I also highly recommend Alla.

We went with the ship tours in St. Petersburg and it was a horrible time. Not the tours themselves but the people who were on our tour. The bus held like 45 people. Just as in a military convoy, you can only travel as fast as the slowest vehicle. The same goes with a huge tour. The tour guide can only walk or tour as fast as the slowest people in the group. I'm not talking about elderly people in the group walking slowly though they do contribute. You also have a small group who has to stop and take every freakin picture, multiple selfies, then a small group wonders off and you have to stop to corral them, etc..

Spend a little extra and go with a small private group of 8 to 12 people.

This is why we went with a private / private tour, just us, driver and guide. I would do it again.

  2. We went with a private tour just the two of us, the guide and a driver. This was amazing as we were on our own schedule and spend as much or little time anywhere we visited and they let us customize our tour completely. We used Travel with Eagle and would use them again in a heartbeat.  It wasn't much more than the TJ tours and others mentioned and more than worth it.

  3. I know the WJ has themed nights for dinner. Do they vary by ship or class of ship?

Anyone have any idea what they are for the Quantum class ships? Will be on Odyssey and since I don't think the WJ has opened yet for dinner not sure what they may be. Just curious and in no way will take it as Gospel. 🙂

I also noticed on some ships there a whole different section at the very back which sometimes is open and sometimes not.

Any idea if these areas are normally open for all three meals or only dinner?

Just received the Congrats email and new documents. It transpired like everyone mentioned. Yesterday, one bid changed to "expired" and the other bid was "Pending" but the Modify and Cancel buttons went away - so I guess that indicates the "locked" status folks have mentioned.

Since we moved to Star Class I should cancel our beverage package? Not sure how that works.

    Thanks everyone.

Would you mind sharing what you had and what you bid? Thank you and congrats.

I am going to try for a Royal Up option for my end of January cruise and have never done it before having the numbers is helpful. I understand each sailing may be different but an idea helps.

We got the JS upgrade email just now!!  Super excited.  Can anyone tell me what kind of bathroom to expect (shower/tub/# of toilets/etc.)?  The Odyssey has only sparse details about staterooms on the site.  We are in 12638 -  J4 starboard on the bump out.  I'd appreciate any details you might have!

    Woo-hoo!!!

Congrats. May I ask what you had before and what you bid? Which date are you on? We are hoping for a RoyalUp option but we don't travel until end of January.

  6. I know the Quantum class has a suite lounge. What I do not know is if beer / wine is available for lunch as well or only during the 5-8pm time frame?

Thinking of upgrading now or waiting to see if we receive a RoyalUp offer. I know the RoyalUp offers are not guarnateed.

I currently see a grand suite 1 bedroom avaialble for our January cruise. Trying to decide if we need the beverage package if we take this room.

Ours at the end of February was changed from GC to Nassau.  I knew GC would not be open yet but I’d hoped for CocoCay instead.  Nassau is just yuck…..

Oh well.  We booked for the ship anyway and will just make it another sea day.  Now wishing the price for those Jr Suites would come down…..we have an extended balcony which will be fine.  Just couldn’t see over 7k for a jr suite for this sailing.  Instead we did the UDP.

I agree, we did book for the ship and Aruba / Curacao, we had hoped for Coco Cay as we haven't been there yet. While disappointed, glad we will be cruising so all good, more time to explore the ship.

  8. Sunshine3601 - Thank you. that is our kind of touring the island so I appreciate the information. Many years ago we had a stop in Ocho Rios and we asked a taxi driver how much for a tour and it was $60 for the day. He gave us a great tour and were able to see places we normally wouldn't have with a tradtional tour.
