I'm still waiting for feedback on my question, but no luck so far. I was thinking about changing to the starboard side, but I will wait a little longer for replies. Hopefully someone may have some insight. [emoji16]Any idea why most of the cabins that are already book are on the port side?Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Forums mobile app

Thanks I'll do that. We are looking forward to seeing everything! My wife wants to take as many pictures as possible. This cruise has been on her wish list for 35 years.Both. If you get a good map of Scotland you will see which islands you sail by when traveling north.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Forums mobile app

Did you see the coast as your ship came into Greenock or as the ship was leaving?I was surprised at how much shoreline we were able to see on our British Isles cruise. The weather was glorious and the coast from Greenock on was stunning. We had a starboard cabin.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Forums mobile app

To each his own. Someone chooses to spend their vacation time at Walmart. That's OK. It's their choice.

This is a great tip! I'll do it. Thanks!Spend some time online ahead of time on the Louvre's website and plan your route. Figure out what you want to see, it takes planning and there's also a lot you won't want to bother with. Everyone wants to see the Mona Lisa, and many will say "oh is that it?" afterward.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Forums mobile app

Flcruise7,
Thanks so very much for posting your fantastic pictures.
You had great weather. Do you remember which month you there?
You also got wonderful pictures from inside the bus. Do you remember which side of the bus you were sitting on?
I really appreciate all the wonderful useful information you shared. Please let me know if you think of anything else. Even small tips can help.

Am I correct in thinking you were on a Princess excursion? This sounds just like the tour we did when we did on our cruise in 2015. I probably have some pictures that I can share, but I'll tell you what I can remember.Once we were at the Louvre, the guide took us to the Mona Lisa. After that, we had some free time (maybe an hour??) for wandering. We did find the Venus de Milo & hit the gift shop.
We enjoyed our lunch at the Eiffel Tower & had a little time for photos on the way to/from lunch. I'll see what I can find for photos.
One note - it was about a 2 1/2 - 3 hour bus ride from the pier to Paris. On the way, we did make a comfort stop about halfway.
I'll look for pictures & post what I can find.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my questions! This is exactly what I needed to know. Please post your pictures. It will give us an idea of what to expect. Also my wife has her own website and hopes to be able to take lots of pictures. We are looking forward to seeing your pictures! This sounds just like the tour we did when we did on our cruise in 2015. I've posted my questions on the Princess board, but perhaps this is a better place for them. My wife and I are booked on a Princess British Isles cruise next summer. I came across this excursion on the Princess website.
I hope someone who has done this excursion can answer a couple of questions. I’ve searched Cruise Critic and the internet but can’t find any information that has the specific information I’m looking for. The website descriptions don't go into details.
Question one: During the Louvre visit, is there a guide that stays with the group for the entire visit, or only part of the time and then you are free to wander around the museum?
Below is a description from the website about the Louvre visit.
“Upon arriving at the Louvre, you'll marvel at this former royal palace. Today, it's perhaps the greatest repository of fine art in the world. Experienced guide offer highlights of this vast collection, including the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory, Leonardo de Vinci's immortal Mona Lisa, and other paintings by such masters as Delacroix and Gericault. You'll have free time to browse in the museum shop before departing for lunch.”
Question 2: Is there any free time to take pictures after lunch? I noticed on internet pictures there seems to be a outside walkway on the same level as the restaurant. Below is a description from the Princess website about lunch.
“You'll enjoy lunch at 58 Tour Eiffel, a restaurant on the first floor of the tower, while viewing charming views of Paris from the venue's large windows. When it's time to call it a day, you'll snap a photo or two of the imposing tower before your return drive to the pier.”
Thanks for sharing your experience.

Thanks [emoji4] We are looking forward to the experience!Took a look at the deck plans for Crown, it will be on the starboard side Deck 6 of the midship dining room. Enjoy. If you have any difficulty finding it, just go the main dining room entrance and they will direct you to the proper entrance.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Forums mobile app

We will be on the Crown Princess next August in a suite. We have cruised on Princess in full suites before, but this will be our first time with Club Class perks. Which side of ship the should we go to find the entrance to the dining room? I looked at the deck plans but I 'm still unsure. Thanks in advance for your help.

Anyone know which side of the ship is better for viewing the various shorelines throughout the cruise? We are in a suite on the port side on the Crown Princess round trip from Southampton next August.
I posted this question on my roll call several weeks ago but no one has answered. :o

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to reply to my question. We don't mind tendering but we're hoping the ship could dock.HiUnfortunately no new pier in St Peter Port, Guernsey. The smallest of ships such as the 50 passenger Hebredian Princess can dock in the harbour, however nearly all the cruise ships including the Crown Princess are too large and passengers have to tender in. Whatever you choose to do on your visit, have a fantastic day, and if you have any questions, feel free to post and I will do my best to help.
I hope the weather is agreeable the day we are there. I've read the port is sometimes missed.
I have a few questions but will have to post them later. Thanks for your offer to help answer them. [emoji4]
