  1. Any specific reason? We’ve not said Oasis class since 2019 but will be on Harmony next month, so I’d be interested in your perspective and especially things/places on the ship to avoid.
  2. It does not make sense that an Internet connection over WiFi is required 24x7. There are too many places you could not go because of a lack of public WiFi. Think train, planes, and automobiles. There is no free public internet everywhere those travel. Hell, you cannot get cellular or WiFi in some stores I have been in, and on the Metro.
  3. I am confused by the talk of Port Canaveral and Miami. I am on Harmony next month and we are sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale?
  4. The only place I heave heard of the casino being open when docked was an overnight in Bermuda. But I think that was a special case for some reason.
  5. Here is a thread where this is answered in detail.
  6. Our last cruise was in April of last year and there were plenty of items on the classic and premium beverage list that were not available due to supply chain issues. However, I found the substitutes acceptable in most cases. Getting the premium package always give me an opportunity to try things that I might not have tried otherwise, without feeling guilty about not finishing a beverage I did not like, e.g. peaty single malts. I also like telling the sommelier that I am aboard for x days and would prefer not to have the same wine twice unless it is the best to pair with the dish I am having.
  7. That works for me. Both make excellent rum old fashioned’s.
  8. Regular coffee and orange juice, along with water, tea, and lemon aid is available for no charge in the restaurants. Premium coffee’s, fresh squeezed orange juice, sodas, wine, beer, and alcoholic beverages are charged a la carte.
  9. If it’s still on the menu. I’ve heard it had been taken off the menu on some ships.
  10. In my time in the service we were taught the proper way to move about a ship was always, "up and forward on the starboard side, down and aft on the port side." This was especially helpful during emergencies as this help the various response personnel keep from running into each other. As for walking in passage ways, I always take the same approach, stay to your right no matter which way you were headed. Maybe that is the "American" way but it is what it is.
  11. My wife will be happy to hear this. She's a huge fan on the French Onion Soup on the classic menu.
  12. I would strongly recommend you verify this as we have never had that happen. What you get as Elite on Celebrity is free drinks, from a select drink menu, in most bars from 5 - 7 PM except for embarkation day.
  13. We were on Celebrity Edge for Valentines Day in 2020, just before the shutdown. Captain Kate held a vow renewal ceremony and there were a lot of participants.
  14. Spa smoothies have never been a part of the classic package. There was even a notice in the package that they were excluded.
  15. Anyone know if the upcharge for a second lobster applies to Luminae?
  16. Keep in mind, if you are in the Retreat, there will be a few differences in the TAD procedures. Retreat guest meet in the Retreat Lounge and are taken care of by the Retreat Host. However, still go to the TAD meeting but keep in mind, certain things, such as meeting location, will be slightly different for you. Your Retreat Host should also talk with you.
  17. I have said this before but we have a Royal Caribbean cruise next month, and Millennium booked for April and November. Whether or not we keep the November sailing will depend on how our April cruise goes. We have no sailing booked beyond 2023. Whether we sail again or not is going to be dependent on how our cruises this year go. If the cut backs and price increases adversely affect our cruising experience, I am sure we will find alternative vacations.
  18. Can you still order from the MDR menu in Coastal Kitchen on Oasis Class? We were able to on Quantum last year but have not been on an Oasis Class since before the pandemic shutdown.
  19. @TopoChico Can you expand on the "stunningly bad" food situation? All dining venue's, OVC, specific restaurants or meals?
  20. We made four full size drinks. Keep in mind full size depends on what drink is being made. A mojito will be in a taller glass than an old fashioned.m
  21. Very invasive. I think it is the appearance that turn most people off from eating iguana but I bet if someone else prepares it for them, they would enjoy it. Two of my favorite YouTube videos on iguana
  22. Hopefully he does not mind Tito's instead of Absolut, which I believe is what you normally get when you request bottles.
  23. With the two device plans your use your account to log into a device. Then you use the same account to log into a second device. You now have both devices connected using the two device plan. As an example. You log in to the account you created on your iPhone. You then use that account to log your son's device in. If you wanted to change from your iPhone to an iPad, you would log off the iPhone and then log on with the iPad. Your son's connection would not be affected. As others have said, once you have two devices connected if you wanted to connect a third, the WiFi would prompt you to disconnect one of the already connected devices before allowing the third device to connect. I find it easier to manage by manually disconnecting before switching devices but YMMV.
  24. That's great. I am really looking forward to the cruise. I kind of wish we were going on the 2nd leg up to Vancouver but alas, we're getting off in LA. We've only sailed in/out of LA once before and that was on a Royal Caribbean Mexican Riviera cruise back in 2008 so I am sure a lot about the port has changed.
