@ByThePondI just don’t see that all in my latest app and all I really want to know is if I delete the app and re-install will I lose all my pre-entered data?

I didn't loose my info. I deleted and re downloaded. All my passport info and vaccine info was there. The saved trip I did was gone, but with the new version I didn't need all the info I submitted before.

I think if you go to the App store on IPhone or Play Store on Android and find the installed app, it will tell you if there is an update available and also the version history that is installed, in other words it appears you need to do a manual update.

There was no update for me. I deleted and re downloaded  it. Very easy to fill out now. Much simpler for cruisers.

That’s fascinating because the Ogden Point postal code (Victoria) actually ends in 1A1,  as well, so I didn’t even question it.  Would be interesting to know where they (HAL) got their info.

The A1A postal code was assigned to the Port of Victoria.  You will need the Port of Halifax postal code which @Fouremcoposted.

hahaha I thought it was a generic code. When I googled it, its actually St Johns Newfoundland!

According to https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/publications/diseases-conditions/entering-leaving-canada-cruise-ship-covid-19.html you should complete your submission sometime in the 72 hours prior to boarding in NY. Its been reported that if you are arriving by cruise ship you may make a submission several weeks before the actual arrival date.

The app only allows you to choose a date 3 days in advance. But filling it out before we leave will still work. You guys are a wealth on knowledge. So grateful.

The cruise port address for Halifax is:

    1215 Marginal Rd,

    Halifax, NS

    B3H 4P8

Thanks ☺️ yes I just googled it. But if you look at the letter *MISS G* posted, it says to list the ship name as address. And postal code as A1A 1A1. I think I will list the actual postal code, and CRUISE PORT under description.

ArriveCAN says to enter the port address and your shipboard room #.  On a current HAL cruise, someone has posted the attached letter for the Port of Victoria.  So you can do either/or.  (Except, in your instance, you will enter your ship and the Port of Halifax information.)

It has been reported that cruise lines are checking for QR codes at embarkation on ships destined for Canada.  No one will check at disembarkation because it’s already tied to your passport.

    Ok thanks!

So, for the quarantine questions then... do I put, HOME ? Or do I enter the cruise ship?  Because I wont be flying home if Im positive.

Typically, you will arrive in Halifax early in the morning. So if you are scheduled to arrive at, for example, 7:00 AM on August 9, you could make you ArriveCAN submission as early as 7:00 AM on August 6, a day before you board on August 7.

Ok thanks! So before we board.

  10. I'm so confused.

I've used the app to enter Canada after a cruise, flying back to Canada- no problem. So I'm familiar with the app. But Im confused about how will it apply to my upcoming cruise? Heres the details:

Flying into the US to board a cruise out of NY on Aug 7.

On Aug 9, we arrive in a Canadian port- Nova Scotia.

Do I need to fill out ArriveCAN on the 7th when I board the ship in the US? Or do I wait until we land in port on the 9th? Who am I showing the app/ print out to? The cruise security staff when we disembark? Or when we check in for the cruise, because I think if Im showing it on the 7th, it will be pretty close to the 72 hr mark.... anyone have an idea how this might look?

  12. Yes! I was able to book our interviews. We were able to secure two interviews in Niagara the first weekend in June. I checked again today and it looks like most sites are completely booked.

There were bookings available in Canada, but very far out.

  13. So question for you experts... this will be our first on Celebrity.

I have a new medical concern which I am not allowed any alcohol- and its difficult for sure. We made it work on NCL with Heineken - 0,  virgin Mojitos and the like (we had to pay for specialty coffees and water.)  We have the Classic alcohol package, and I see coffee/tea is included but I really like all the extra offerings on the PREMIUM NON ALCOHOLIC (flavoured waters, Red bull) .

If I switch packages will they still offer virgin drinks on the non alcoholic package? Like Heineken 0? Not interested in the slushy drinks. Will Celebrity switch my package on board? Im assuming they will since its quite a decrease in price. Second thought is to maybe Upgrade my package, to the Premium ALCOHOLIC package but we are on a 12 day cruise so it adds up. And again, I don't drink. Can we upgrade just one package and maybe let my partner enjoy an upgraded tequila or two? Or is it like NCL that both packages have to upgraded. And I guess technically that would be sharing and not allowed.

Any idea on what would be the best option?

It is still in the list of Air Canada requirements for boarding, and in the list of CDC requirements for entry into the USA then yes. Pages 1 and 2 are actually your personal attestation to your vaccine status and to your negative Covid test status. Pages in between are exemptions for emergency care professionals, essential services suppliers (covered under another set of rules) etc. The last page (7) is your handwritten. signature declaring your are the person signing, by your own hand. I wouldn’t mess with that requirement though it isn’t always asked for….

I printed off ( all 7 pages ) and was actually called up to the counter to show it- along with about 10 other people - right before they called boarding.

This was a flight from YYZ - SJU over March break. I’ve never shown that form before. I had all my other documents done through the air canada app.

Oddly enough, all of my bids for my sailing on the 13th still say pending. I’m guessing they keep them for backup in case there is a last minute cancellation or COVID+.
    🤷🏻

Mine were all pending as well this morning. I didn’t bid on the Club balcony previously, only Haven. But since Haven were showing SOLD OUT, and my bids were all pending , I went back in and made a low bid on Club. I think it might have only been 4 /5 hours later my bid was excepted!!!

  16. Upgraded this morning to a Club Balcony!

I bid the min $100pp ( Canadian funds). 2 days to go - sailing March 13th.

We started in a sail away inside for a great last minute price, paid (called in) for an extra sweet deal on a balcony (BA) with free at sea extras and was able to then bid on spas, suites and Haven. Much cheaper than booking a balcony direct.

Not sure what the difference is between a regular balcony and Club balcony suite, assuming maybe a bit bigger? Better location?

    Researching now!

My apologies if this question has been answered 50 times already, hard to sift through 48 pages of posts.  I have upgraded two previous NCL cruises and most recent in December I was able to upgrade from a Balcony to a Club Balcony with a $20 minimum bid (all dollar references Canadian).

We are sailing again in about a month and I see that the smallest minimum bid I'm allowed is $130 pp. Does this slide a lot in the weeks before sailing in the experience of those who have one this a lot?  I'm happy with the room I have, but if I can score a cheap upgrade I'm happy to wait as well.

I'm three days away from sailing and the min bid for my Balcony (BA) to a Club Balcony is $100pp Canadian funds. This is for a 7 night cruise.

  18. You’re right. The SWITCH test that has to be done in Canada is the PCR test.

But, SWITCH also offers a test called a RT-LAMP test, that can be done on the ship through wifi, and  that is accepted for entry into Canada. It is proctored as well, we bought two for our return to Canada.

I ordered them through Areoplan and they were delivered to my doorstep within 4 days.
