  1. I noticed the GS have a coffee machine, does RCI supply coffee or do we need to bring some with us and if so is there some where to find what is needed.

We will be on the explorer and the vision.

    Thanks

I travel with packets of Starbucks Via Italian Roast and packets of coffee mate. Based on where you traveling, are the ships may not have half and half or cream minis in your stateroom. (In some places, they have minis of milk.) I don't use the coffee maker as I prefer Via (using the hot water kettle.)

  2. He's on Anthem again :) October 15 2016, Bermuda 5 nights, our sailing :D As of now, he has no other dates scheduled on RCI for 2016 or 2017 yet and has quite a few 2016 sailings booked with NCL. I'm sure he'll be back again for CR's Golf events next year on Anthem and hoping one of those dates is their 4/29/17 sailing, 7 Nights Bermuda and Boston, again, which we booked.

Andy did say they may have him perform in Boleros instead of the casino next time. If I find out any info on additional dates from him, I'll post it here.

    Thanks for the response.

  3. Wow, it does sound amazing! Happy to hear you had a beautiful time.

Andy sang for 3 nights in the casino this week, wow, we all had a great time watching him perform and dancing. Casino was packed nightly, over 300 CR members

Yes, more play for the casino ;)

I'm sure our paths will cross again :)

Linda - do you happen to have a schedule of Andy's upcoming Royal Caribbean performances? It was so great to hear him last year on two of my cruises.

  4. Linda and Cheryl....It sooo sad bec Linda going on cruise on Anthem Oct 15 and Oct 20 and I am Oct 29 :( ... Yes, I agree last time it was fun dancing while Andy sing

Alla - and such extra fun we had drinking Tequila shots at the beach bash! I had fun because I don't drink tequila. I had fun watching you, Boris and Paul.

  5. DH and I are Diamond Plus. We were Diamond Plus on last cruise (Rhapsody Around the Horn) and we enjoyed the time we spent in the Concierge Lounge and met some really nice people and the Captain came in a few times.

Our experience in the Diamond Lounge (before we became D+) when we were on Quantum and Anthem was - its crowded!!!! (During evening cocktail time they opened the doors to the adjoining level of the Music Hall.)

Despite the deck plans for Anthem on Royal's site on line - where they still show a Concierge lounge (grand suites and above, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle) we have been told the change to that lounge is now is Suites only lounge - sigh.

    (and Pinnacles?)

I spoke with a few people at Crown and Anchor and the only info I have is each ship with Suites only lounge replacing Concierge Lounge will be setting up breakfast similar to Concierge and Diamond lounge in one of the specialty restaurants - location to be determined by each ship's staff.

One of the people I spoke with on the phone at C and A actually said to me "well you will have 3 drinks loaded on to your seapass card." I reminded her that THAT is not new.

There is no doubt the Diamond Lounge on the Anthem will be beyond crowded. Don't know if they are going to change the policy on Anthem with diamond lounge becoming D+ only.

We can always use our seapass to get our comp drinks elsewhere and have pre-dinner snacks on our balcony.

  6. Hi Cheryl

Nice too hear from you, also been receiving many offers from CR.

Currently our next sailing on Anthem is a B2B on Oct 15 & Oct 20 2016, with many other Anthem sailings next year and in 2018. We may have cruise withdrawal from now until October and book another Anthem sailing before October, but most likely will not be a 5 Nighter, just too short of a cruise.

You and Paul will just love Bermuda, everyone that goes there does and maybe, if your schedule is not too busy, you guys can join us on the 5 Nighter to Bermuda on October 15. It's a CR Golf event and Andy will be singing again in the casino. Don't know if you guys play Golf or not but CR does an outstanding job on this event, the Golf Course in Bermuda is at Port Royal which is a PGA course. Our handicap is high as we a lesson or two---lol, you don't have to be a Golfer to play in this tournament, it's lots of fun. If you can make it, you can do a B2B like us :)

Love to hear about your S.A. cruise when we meet up again.

All the best to you guys and hope to see you soon.

Hi Linda - doesn't look like we will be seeing you anytime soon.

Would like to hear Andy again - what a talent!

Won't be able to join you in October - we'll be on the Explorer - 24 nights - Seattle to Sydney. We've had that trip booked since the day it was released - when we were on the Quantum in 2015.

South America - We had some weather issues on the Rhapsody going 'around the horn" which keep us from really going all the way down around the bottom of the horn - and some weather related change of port issues. But it was an amazing experience - gorgeous scenery! And some of the days were great weather! We spent time in Santiago before the cruise and after (on our own) in Buenos Aires and then up to Iguazu Falls (the Brazil side) and stayed there at the Belmond in the park. We did lots of "bucket list items" on that trip. We heard Royal is no longer going to be cruising to South America. There are other cruise lines going, including Celebrity.

You are fortunate you live near Bayonne so you don't need to add in airfare to your trips on Anthem. Less on airfare - more to play with in the Casino. HaHa...

  7. Hi Alla

Currently on Anthem, will be home tomorrow. You can give me a call on Sunday or anytime after 😀

Yes points are the same no matter how long the cruise. Agree , much easier to obtain more points on longer cruises.

Hi Linda - Paul and I are taking advantage of an offer from Club Royale and we are going on the Anthem August 20 (2016). 5 days Bermuda - we've never been to Bermuda so we are excited about a new island! Paul wants to go back on the Anthem. (I have never done a cruise less than 7 days...) I think you are on the Anthem often. Will you be on when we are on? (We have received many nice offers but because of family events and other things already on our calendars we haven't been able to take advantage of everything offered.

  8. We did the Embassy Suites twice and I got a bad taste in my mouth the last time and will never use them again.

Our flight was delayed and turned into a "red eye". I called the hotel and since it was to late to cancel, which I didn't want to do, we agreed I would pay for the night we should have arrived so we could have our room when we got there the next morning.

So they charge me for the night I am not there. We get there the next AM and guess what "we don't have any clean rooms." What about the one I paid for for last night? Sorry no rooms. I am not moving from the desk until you give me the room I paid for last night. Well we do have a smoking room if you want it?

At this point we had been up more than 24 hours and traveled from CA to FLL, so we take the smoking room just to get a few hours of sleep.

Of course we both woke up with headaches from the smoke, but at least we felt half way human.

I am Hilton brand loyal, but will never stay there again.

Twice since, I was able to get a balcony waterfront at the Double Tree for $126. Granted there aren't any "free" eats or drinks, but it's a very nice place and the water taxi docks at the foot of the patio bar.

I hope you contacted the Hilton loyalty department (if you are a Hilton member.) I would think they would want to try to make things right for you -

like extra points and a free night somewhere...and removing the room charge from your credit card.

  9. In Ft Lauderdale we have stayed at Embassy Suites a few times. You can price a few ways - they have a stay and cruise (the price is higher than if you don't book that way) - where they have a shuttle going from hotel to the ship. They also have where they can pick you up at the airport. You need to crunch the numbers. sometime it has been better or us to not do the "package." We also have stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Dania - they have free shuttle from FLL airport to the hotel. And there is a service you pay for to go to the port.

  10. Anybody know how these rooms are set up? We are in 7674, Is this room a sofabed with a Pullman above it?

    Thanks!

if you go to Royal website look for your ship, go to deck plans. scroll to stateroom. if you see a stateroom room with a triangle that is a sofa bed. On every page on the website of deck plans with staterooms there is information about what all of the symbols mean. and - you can always call Royal and ask....

  11. There are smoking areas on the pool deck, just outside the indoor pool, and on deck 5 which is glass enclosed but not air tight so it's possible the smoke could make it's way to you, but it would really depend on the location of your cabin and how far away it is. I would think so long as your not directly above it, you would not be affected.

unless it has been modified from when I was on it end of last year -it was not a glass enclosed area.

windows on the ocean side. open on the deck side. railings on the deck side; a "doorway" area...

  12. How would anyone know you were gay ? - unless you wore a shirt advertising it. While I would not walk into the town itself by myself - our last time in Falmouth - my husband and I walked together. We saw a police officer and asked her for a recommendation for a restaurant that was walking distance. And she directed us. Someone who who was standing near her said he's take us there - the police officer who obviously knew this person said it was safe to go with him. We got a brief history as he walked with us us... and then we game him a tip. And the food and beer we had was great. On our way back many wanted to sell us shirts, magnets, cold water, fruit... We said no to everyone and walked back to the ship.

PS - I left all of my jewelry in our stateroom when we went out.

  13. Thank your for all of the updates. looking forward to reading what you did in HNL and Maui.

The October 2016 Seattle to Sydney cruise will be our first in a Grande Suite (we have been in Junior Suites and Spa Junior Suites on other Royal cruises) I am not familiar with "suites dinner in the windjammer". How often does this occur? How much notification ahead of time did you receive for this? -(before you boarded thru email or once you were aboard - thru your Concierge?) Did you need to rsvp by a certain date? Is this dinner only for Grande Suites and larger suites?
