  1. ...Not really sure where all these "watered down drink" comments are coming from?? As said before, and recently experienced personally on the Glory, you can order whatever drinks you want from the servers.

...There is no need to take the Orange/Yellow/Blue/Green foofoo drinks in the tall glasses. You can request beer, wine or even "real" drinks from the servers. At the last P&D Party, I asked the server for 2 Bacardi and DC for myself and 2 White Russians for DW. Order two ONLY because it didn't make sense for her to make two trips.

...When the server arrived with our drinks, I place a $5 on her tray to thank her and off she went. Drinks were mixed perfect with the right amount of alcohol.

...The "watered down drink" comments are just silly.

Well unfortunately it's confirmed by me. I've always known that you can order any drink which I always have. It has always been a half pour of rum watered down or a glass of beer that is served less than cold. On the Miracle in February I asked for a Sam Adams IPA and was told only Bud, Bud Light or Heineken. So I ordered a rum and coke and it wasn't what they pour at the bars. We had one drink and left. We had sworn off the parties years ago and not sure why we went back.

  2. Unless I'm mistaken, and I don't think I am, Future Cruise Certificates no longer exist at Carnival. Someone please correct me if I am mistaken.

They can no longer be purchased but they can still be redeemed. I redeemed 2 in November that were supposed to expire in December but was told that Carnival has extended the certificate expiration by a year.

  3. We got sucked in with a cheap fare that included airfare. The cruise itself just had a different flavor to it, and the ports of call were disappointing.

Add to that the sea day in and out of LA is always unusually cold, enveloping 4 days of extreme heat and humidity, the Caribbean was calling our names the entire week.

While I would agree that the last sea day back into Long Beach or San Diego can be cold or mild, but the first sea day has been warm or hot in 6 out of 7 cruises that have taken us to Cabo or further. Humidity hasn't ever been an issue in ports except the summer months.

  4. Years ago the Spirit would do 5 nighters from San Diego. It was just two days in Cabo, then back up. 100x better than Catalina and Ensenada! If it were winter, you truly got away for some fun in the sun. The weather in Ensenada and Catalina is the same as it is in Southern California. They were the best. One of those Fantasy class ships should move to San Diego and start that run again. Let the other stay in Long Beach and do the Ensenada/Catalina. The Miracle can run the 7 day. There, solved. The Spirit did that run for just under a year. Before that, the Elation started a 5 night cruise from San Diego in 2007 that went to Cabo and Ensenada and later did the back to back Cabo cruises starting in July of 2009. We were on that first 2 day Cabo cruise, the murder cruise where a woman celebrating her retirement was killed by her husband in their cabin on the Riviera deck. I remember hearing the emergency signal during dinner and locked eyes with our waiter who said "that is not good."

  5. You know, it just seems to me that when someone gives you something for free you should simply accept it graciously and say "Thank You". I don't see how you can complain about something that's free. The sense of entitlement that some folks have is just amazing.

Couldn't agree with you more. Amazing to me that people have that sense of entitlement.

  6. Everyone is missing the point here, If we are willing to let them get away with taking things away, they will continue to do so. When I started Sailing on Carnival back in 2006 we had the Captain Reception with free drinks, lets see they took that away and we let them, Then they came up with having a Welcome back party with free drinks, They took that away, Then they came out with the free Drink coupon That was great and then they took that away, Now they are replacing that with a Bottle of water, That is calling it too cheep. The thing that eats at me is Everyone on here that loves the Water Idea is most likely the people that get the free Drinks still. It does not matter to you. I really think it is a slap in the face, an Insult really, The cruise lines make enough to be able to give their returning guest something besides water. They keep getting away with taking things away and we let them. It is not fair, I bet half of the people on here that like the free water are still getting the free drinks and don't care what the other people get. Oh well, What is done is done nothing we can do about it except stop letting them get away with this, It is strange I did not get that survey asking what we thought about the drink coupon and I don't believe that everyone was complaining about getting it, People were most likely telling them that they want to be able to use it at any bar anytime during the cruise. Not just for Brunch/lunch on Sea Days. Just my opinion, you can either like it or Not I really don't care, I have the right to voice my opinion. Point being if we keep letting them take things away they will continue to.. NUFF Said.

If you don't like this terrible thing Carnival has done to you then it's probably the time to stop sailing them and find another line. NUFF Said.

  7. Actually no loyalty program on any cruise line encourages my loyalty. I don't want to be loyal to any line. I like variety when I cruise and I pick the ship that meets my wants and needs at that time. I wonder how many cruisers are like me? I cruise a ship for multiple reasons...none of which include the loyalty perks which are usually minimal on any line compared to what you pay to cruise. I think it is great that they offer them, but I don't expect them to give me a certain amount of perks and I don't really care if they change them....they are free perks, nice to get but don't really matter in the grand scheme of my vacation. In my opinion some are just blowing this whole thing way out of proportion. It's a couple dollars, smh...I don't get the big deal that some are trying to make it.

You couldn't of said it better. We have sailed mostly on Carnival but am no way loyal to them as they are a business. We cruise for the ports, or price or ship or a combination of all three. Not for one free drink at brunch! We spend much on tasty adult beverages every cruise and am looking forward to our cruise next month and not have to bring our 2 bottles (no not a 24 pack like some passengers we have seen) of water in our carry on.

  8. While I do love the thought of any gift. many cruises I just take them back to Guest Services and if they don't have anything to swap them out for we just give them back. I got 22 gifts last year with many multiples of all. I really liked the Tervis cups and kept 8 for just us. That is something that you can have multiples of and would be a good exchange option.

Just a FYI Inspiration as of 1-16-15 still have bags.

If I get a multiple I give it away. I would never go to guest services to exchange their gift.
