posts on 7/5, 7/6, 7/7, 7/18, 719, 8/4 (YOURS), 8/8, I don't call that inactive.  Why do you want it unpinned?  There are MANY similar "how are things where you are" on various CC cruise line forums.  I find it a welcome diversion from...

7/19 to 8/4 is over two weeks. The very definition of inactive, yes.

Sorry, but this is a crazy question.

Agreed.  With an entire industry reliant on doing everything possible to keep covid in check to continue to operate, the OP wants to know if they’d be allowed on a ship with a positive test result?  The thought of doing ANYTHING with a positive diagnosis other than going straight to quarantine is just beyond comprehension at this point. Ugh.

Really ???  Says Who ???  All you have to do is read the Guidelines that the Company requests .

It's not a " power play " --- as that BS some folks post -- It's to maintain a bit of decorum on a few nights of the cruise.

And, I doubt anyone would go into any other restaurant on board wearing tshirts, flip flops, shorts at dinner on any night during the cruise.

Maybe we should move on from the same old crap about dress codes ???

( Save your replies about Bye Bye etc  )

Yes really.  Per Celebrity website.  “Evening Chic means that you can get glamorous and be sophisticated in your own way.”   This leaves a LOT of room for interpretation.  I assure you you will not be turned away in a polo shirt.  Shorts will get you turned away.  Polo shirt, never.  Note that personally I am a fan of and truly miss formal nights. I wear a sport coat on evening chic nights.

Absolutely not, hasn’t applied ship wide in at least 15 years: Evening Chic applies only to the MDR, not Specialties, Blu or Luminae.  You will see many in the rest of the ship in shorts and t shirts, etc.

    And....

it only applies IF you choose to participate. Strictly voluntary.

Hopefully I'll be able to answer your questions in August.  We're scheduled to be on the first 12-night itinerary, let's hope it goes.

Good luck!  We have a 12-nighter schedule for 9/26.  Final payment due in a few days!

If you are expecting no signs of activity on a cruise ship, then perhaps you should wait to book a cabin on the inaugural cruise of a brand new boat. Age and wear are signs of popularity and longevity. Do not discount the beauty and elegance of a mature lady. You'll miss out on what she has to offer.

Not expecting this at all as that would be quite an unrealistic expectation.  Just looking to confirm she's been kept in good shape for a ship of that age.  We have been on some that age and they have looked much older than their years.

Rest assured, the ship is beautiful. She is now, will be then and beyond. Just like all the 'S' class ships.

Thank you.  For some background, we sailed the Summit bout 8 years ago, shortly after it was 'Solstiscized' and even after that, we found a lot of the areas looking a bit worn and tired.

  8. We are (hopefully) sailing on the Equinox in late September.  It has been revolutionized.  I know about what this did in the public spaces but what does this mean for the cabins?  Were changes/upgrades made there and if so, what should we expect to see that will be different than before it was revolutionized?  We have an Aqua class cabin if that helps.  Thank you all in advance.

  9. Awesome. The cost of not protecting yourselves and others by not getting vaccinated essentially means you get treated differently (and appropriately) in my opinion. The rest of us get treated normally. Yea Celebrity!!!

I am hoping that the added costs and inconveniences will make those that choose not to get vaccinated reconsider going in the first place.

  10. 100% this is what is needed to keep cruising as safe as possible in the short term, but this is not anything I would want any part of.  These protocols are totally necessary but would make for one bummer of a 'vacation'.  I'll wait until next year.  Hoping now they will give the official word that our November cruise is cancelled soon.

There is a risk to everyday living and the risk of dying from Covid-19 is not significantly higher, despite all the CDC and press hysteria to the contrary.  I live in SC and personally know only 1 person that Has tested positive for Covid-19 and they had mild symptoms.

Awesome! So even though the health risk is low to YOU if you catch it, you can still be infected with mild to no symptoms and not worry about getting very ill all the while spreading the virus to others who are in the very categories you mention.  This is why the virus keeps spreading.   Kudos to you.
