  1. We had 11330 last week and no the beds can not be separated.

Did you happen to take a video or any additional pictures that you can post? The pictures I have seen so far do not give an overall good idea of the layout of entry way, bathroom location, windows etc.

    thanks

No video but plenty of pictures. I was planning on doing a review as some requested to understand the positives of the cabin so I will see if I get around to it. The cabin is choppy, long entry way with no purpose, only 1 window facing Aqua theater but not a great view, sliders with windows on each side facing the ocean. The cabin is ideal for 2 people, possibly 3 but not 4. The best part about the cabin is the balcony. Bathroom is tiny.

  2. i have seen on another thread that the beds cannot be divided in the 12th deck aft suites. Does anyone know whether this is also the case on the 11th deck new GSs?

  3. This room will accommodate up to 4 people, however there is not enough storage for clothing or bathroom amenities for 4, and only 1 very small area to get ready and use a hair dryer outside of the bathroom, here is a picture of thatImageUploadedByForums1417534112.742071.jpg.dbcba4512c28d9cac1b3cc4c4f026c6f.jpg. The chair doesn't even push in all the way and there is no storage here

  4. ImageUploadedByForums1417533827.604330.jpg.14bfe7577e88838b8169633a5808c86e.jpg the only portion of the balcony on room 11330 that is wide enough for loungers. I would not pay the additional fare for this room, it's not worth it, if you are over 6' the bathroom is not useable for you

  5. This is room 11330, the largest of these new suites, they did finally bring some pictures for the walls and a coffee table and 2 stool like pieces of furniture for seating. Clarification on the bathroom, there is a step up the bathroom and the door is much shorter then a standard sized door, if you are 6' you HAVE to duck to get in the bathroom, the only way to shower if you are around 6' is to sit and use the hand shower, you do have a view but only one very small area that fit the loungers, of which everyone can see you, the very narrow private part of the balcony will not accommodate loungers and has nearly no overhang above it.

  6. We are not upset about minimally decorated we are upset because it's clearly not finished, and we made sure it would have the same amenities as other grand suites and it clearly does not, the balcony cabins are much better equipped then this is

  7. I had read reviews of the Aqua theatre suites and they are not decorated as lavishly as the GS or OSS were. It would seem that these new GS's are following that pattern. You are paying for the larger cabin, balcony and view and not getting the level of luxury associated with a regular GS.

If this is what they are doing then they should have been classified as Aqua theatre suites and priced individually as they are now and not called GS's.

There is nothing in the "living room" aside from a couch. We are extremely disappointed. They are not luxury at all. Hospital like.

  8. Just got on the ship. Very disappointed. Lacking furniture, storage, pictures. Bathroom is tiny. Pool deck furniture on balcony. Seems like everything was just thrown in here. Tv's not mounted, God forbid we hit any seas everything will be on the floor. Decor is like a hospital. I would not book this room ever again. 1 couch and no chairs. No coffee table. No bar area. Very few drawers. Regular GS is MUCH nicer

  9. When I reserved Chef's Table for my Oasis cruise, "an intimate enclave within Chops" was part of the description. They cancelled it completely, and after eating in Chops on the Oasis, I'm not sure where they were thinking they could put it. Chops was packed, and the tables were VERY close together.

I completely disagree, and I think telling the OP to switch cruise lines is ignoring their legitimate complaint. RCI failed to deliver on a contract they made when the OP purchased Chef's Table. Just because a cruise line is family oriented doesn't mean they can't provide experiences that are exclusively for adults. One of the most child-oriented businesses on the planet, Disney, does so on their ships and in their resorts. In the same way that there are places/activities on the ship that aren't appropriate for adults, there's room for things that aren't appropriate for children.

I think if RCI is allowing children at Chef's Table, which is undoubtedly an expensive, adult-oriented experience, they're taking the easy way out because they don't want to risk getting a passenger angry by enforcing their written policies. Sooner or later that will backfire on them...most adults aren't going to pay $95 and risk having a cranky toddler at the table. If people stop booking, that's a lucrative revenue stream gone. Royal Caribbean has a lot of big ships to fill -- they need to keep all their customers, and they can do that by making sure they have something that appeals to everybody.

Point we'll taken. However it was simply a suggestion. Just seems everything on this forum is a complaint lately. Perhaps it should be called "cruise complaints". Smart companies evolve their products towards their target audience and that seems to be what rci is doing. We love princess and is a GREAT adult experience.

  10. (Background)....Recently (Nov 16 - 23, 2014), we cruised on Allure of the Seas and booked the Chef's Table prior to our sailing for our Anniversary dinner on the first night. We have been to the Chef's Table many times in the past, and LOVE this event!

Everything you read about the Chef's Table says that the venue is for adults only (21 and over). The FAQ's on RCI's website as well as an onboard menu with information was also provided in our cabin describing the "rules" of who could/could not attend. Confirmed that it was an adult only venue.

This was our Anniversary Dinner and we were very upset to see that a family and a "baby" were scheduled to go to the Chef's Table the same time we were scheduled to attend. They told me that an "exception" was made to allow the baby.

This was truly a shocker to us and decided to cancel the Chef's Table since we felt a baby was not going to create the proper mix of folks for a gourmet dinner with wine pairings and actually went against RCI policy.

BTW, my husband and I are not against children, since we cruise Disney often. Disney has a venue called REMY's which is extremely elegant and does not allow any children to attend.

BE AWARE THAT RCI HAS CHANGED THEIR POLICY AS OF NOVEMBER 20, 2014 TO ALLOW CHILDREN AT THE CHEF'S TABLE. This is what I was told on the phone this morning.

Although RCI contacted me after the cruise, I thought it would be important to inform those who are thinking about booking the Chef's Table that the Policy to allow children has, in fact, changed. What they are now saying is that children can attend the Chef's Table, they just need to be 21 to drink.

I understand a family friendly cruise line is what RCI is striving for, however, I feel that some venues should be left to Adults Only.

Royal IS a family cruise line. Maybe you should consider HAL or Princess. May be a better fit. The way I look at it is you can not complain your way to happiness.

  11. I guess it isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. We love aft cabins and always books those when available but Oasis & Allure only have the ATS's which were too big and too expensive for us. So I am excited about having this choice.

We are leaving today for NY to board the Quantum on Sunday for the Inaugural cruise. We could only get a balcony cabin for that cruise so we are at least a little flexible when need be!

I would still enjoy hearing your experience and seeing some pictures.

    Thanks.

I was just curious why posting pictures of the cabin was such a big deal. We are excited for the 29th and will post pics when we return.
