  1. Give Princess a try.. We sailed princess multiple times before having our son and after this next cruise at the end of August with RC we are headed back. Our last 6 cruises over the last 3 years have been with RC and we just find them stale at this point. Same itineraries and after going on Oasis a bunch we are over it and want the actual cruise experience back rather than the floating resort/mall. Suites are much nicer on princess as well and the food there is no competition. Entertainment wise they are about the same. BTW we are in our late 30s early 40s. Pricing is better as well.

Our last cruise with RC on Oasis was the worst cruise we have been on all around on any of the lines we have been on over the last 15 years.

  3. Hi can anybody help me please!!! I am looking at booking suite 12330 next July and am really struggling finding any posts or pictures or even room layout on this suite. RCI website deck plans dont show this is an aquasuite (A3)but when my TA phones they assure her it is - I don't want to book it and find out its not a 2 bed with a nice balcony!!!

Anybody stayed in this or has info on then I would be very grateful if they could post.

    Thank you :)

Try searching the cabin number. They are identical to the suites on oasis.

  4. There are two waitlist you can choose on RCCL, a paid waitlist and the "non-paid" waitlist. For a paid waitlist you pay the regular deposit for the room type you are wait listing for. The "non-paid" waitlist requires no deposit. Paid waitlist get priority over non-paid waitlists because to the cruise line you are more serious if you have money tied up while waiting. We always do paid waitlist if its a last minute decision to cruise. About 50% of the time the room category (usually OS or GS) we are wait listing for clears at final payment time.

You can be on the local port waitlist as well. Great if you are able to travel at the last minute. Most lines offer this. Once you decline 2-3 times you are removed from the list.

  5. I have one of the new GS booked on Allure OTS and keep going back and forth to keep it or change it. The info and pictures provided here are very valuable information and thank you to all that shared.

I have seen pictures and videos of the Oasis new GS cabins but have yet to see any of Allure new GS cabins on decks 11, 12 or 14. I asume they are the same as Oasis or did they make any adjustments from lessons learned from Oasis dry dock????

We had a friend on allure, they are identical, including ceiling height.

  6. These cabins are not worth the cost in my opinion. Would take a regular GS or OS over these any day. Would probably even take a JS over these as well room wise. Simply they are really awkward. Sure the overly large and narrow balcony was interesting for a day or 2 but after that we asked ourselves what the point was. Poor design period.

I think the ship builder got the plans mixed up with a Disney ship that was due for drydrock...with such low ceilings, small showers if you catch my drift. I mean you would think that given the dream works themes RCI has there would be enough room for shrek in the showers and the balcony would be big enough to land a dragon. SMH. What were they thinking.

  8. I had one saved and changed to a reg GS after looking at the pictures i did not like the setup of the room at all it did look small and awkward and i didnt even know about the shower at that time. The only plus to that suite is the balcony.

Agreed. The balcony was large not sure of the purpose of such a large, narrow balcony, my wife was getting her morning walk in on the balcony so I guess that was a plus.

  9. [quote name='katidid213'][SIZE="4"]I'm taking my hubby on Oasis for his birthday and have booked a JS. We have always had balconies in the past so this was a big leap financially. I now see that the JS category doesn't get any of the perks that full suites do, just the extra point per night. When do you suggest I try to upgrade to a GS? It's a Thanksgiving cruise so I'm not sure if that hurts or helps me. I am willing to pay more.

Check you cruise and create mock bookings to check the price. Look for price drops. I have found drops between Sunday and Tuesday. What ship are you on?

There are sites out there that can help but I haven't found them particularly helpful.
  10. Been on both. Have been on oasis class 4 times (3 oasis 1 allure) and most recently the breeze. Breeze was refreshing for a few reasons:

    1. MUCH better itineraries

    2. Great ship feel for the Caribbean

    3. Better food overall than Oasis (even comparable to coastal kitchen)

Agree you must try the oasis class at least once in you life but after a few times on it it becomes bland and the only WOW is the price for an over run itinerary. Interesting that most say you can't compare to the entertainment well I beg to differ as we have never walked out on a show on the breeze like we did on oasis twice. We now split our cruises between RC (freedom or less class) princess and carnival.

  11. Have been on Princess 5x and Carnival 3x aside from Royal 7x. Loved Princess and would go back in an instant but there isn't as much for our son to do as he is just shy of 4. Liked Carnival as well. Most lines have their good points and bad. Princess, to us is the best overall line. We are in our late 30s & early 40s. Only came over to Royal because of our son and the flowriders. RC has been really disappointing on our last few cruises, we have one more coming up shortly and we will most likely jump ship back to Princess or NCL. We are interested in NCL due to the Haven as 99.9% of the time we book a full suite. RC is becoming boring and disconnected from the sea.
