We leave for Toronto at 9 and the gates open at 1pm. The hockey starts at 8 and the doors open at 7pm. We have a room at the Sky Dome hotel so it’s steps from the ball park.

For the Jays game all food and drinks are included with our seats. I’ve been planning my grazing.

Both sports venues are minutes from each other.

Maybe you will get to see a Shohei homerun, he hit one tonight in the 1st inning.

Think I would go for the Lobster Roll and Smash Burger for starters.

The first time I realized it was on my last Royal cruise last year to Greenland on Jewel.  I heard it is not always available and is dependent on how many Diamonds and above are sailing.  If there are larger amounts, they allow it to alleviate the Diamond lounge rush for coffee.  This is what I heard but the reason I knew about the coffee bonus was because they left a note in our cabin the first day.

This post got lost as I posted this earlier.

We were on that sailing, what was weird some mornings they didn't either bother to slide our sea pass  cards.

Travel Update - Radiance of the Seas

    Last Updated April 23, 2024 - 5:00PM EDT

Radiance of the Seas® sailing on Friday, April 26, 2024 from Vancouver

We’re excited to welcome you onboard Radiance of the Seas® for our April 26, 2024 sailing! We have an important update. Unfortunately, we’re having technical issues on a current sailing of Radiance of the Seas® resulting in slower speed. Our team is hard at work, and we expect to complete all repairs on time for your sailing. We will keep you informed every step of the way and will provide another update on April 25th.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We can’t wait to welcome you onboard.

We're in a junior suite, so we can reserve for dinner only in CK based on availability.  Tonight we had a 6:00 p.m. reservation and all they had for tomorrow night was 8:00 p.m.  That's a bit late for us, but they said to check back in the morning.  We're going to check in the morning.  We have Giovanni's for lunch so maybe 8:00 p.m. wouldn't be the worst thing.   I don't think you can reserve for a fee otherwise.  I asked the concierge why our reservation tonight wasn't in my calendar and he said since it's not open for general booking it doesn't show up in your calendar.

Just looked at your menu for CK you had on the app(pulled up your sailing), why no Rib Eye in CK ? I'm thinking can't you sometimes even get a good Grilled New York Sirloin in the Windjammer

It is 32° this morning, and we have frost.  Hope everyone had their plants covered last night.   I think last night was our last freeze warning for a while.

Doesn't work that way here in Virginia where we live, still have chances for frost for 3  more weeks, Mid May before we can plant here.

We are at 2300 ft above sea level here.

Had our BEST meal so far on this cruise!    My girlfriend didn't even want to go, so I had to really convince her that we should at least give Coastal Kitchen it a try.  She didn't see much on tonight's menu that she wanted, but I persisted.    I'm really glad I pushed.

Our server Alan was excellent.  He asked if we had somewhere to go (which we did) and really expedited our service.   The food and service was truly excellent.

Started with the onion soup and roasted beet salad.  Both were excellent.    Then onto grilled NY Strip and roasted pork loin, both of which were great.  And finished with Baked Alaska and Red Velvet Cake, which we both totally enjoyed and devoured.

Overall, that was a great experience and we were in and out in 1 hour 20 minutes.   Thank goodness.

Of course, I'm now being asked when we can go back and why we can't go there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!  🤣

How much does CK cost per person on your ship?

I've been to the ostrich farm there. We really enjoyed the experience. That is one of the very few ship sponsored excursions that we've done. It was a lot easier than planning it on our own. It also included a stop at the aloe plantation. That turned out to be very interesting, too.

Odyssey is not using facial recognition. There is still a slight sound when the machine reads your card.

You would think by now all Royal's ship would be using that, when they started this 4 years ago........If not why isn't it fleetwide by now,

Be careful with that camera, there could be some of these out there.

    Good Luck on your crossing!

I FINALLY REALIZED WHAT IS MISSING ON THIS CRUISE.

No more (((((BONG))))))) when they scan your sea pass to leave the ship.

    Wonder when that changed.

    Be safe.

That's why when you get on and off the ship now, the guy behind the podium says things like Welcome back Jim, Welcome back Donna!........no dings.

I've been on 3 different ships from November 2023 to April 2024.  There is no mandatory mask requirement.  Some passengers prefer to wear masks in crowded situations (like me) as a personal health protection choice.

I do this because I came home from a cruise late September last year with COVID, so I mask in airports, on airplanes, in crowded elevators, and other crowded places where I'm standing/sitting close to other people.  Just a personal choice.

It's funny:  I meet lots of people commenting on my blingy masks.  I put a cut down N95 mask inside the blingy mask.

    Jewel?

Marinetraffic is showing her destination as Astoria, pointing to her going to Portland for drydocking.  Currently Vigor's dock is empty, Victoria's dock currently has Norwegian Sun in it.  Radiance doing 15.8 knots.

Over Night in Portland would be cool while they make repairs. Could check out places where  Twilight was filmed.

Alpha alpha alpha just called? Ugh.

Lots of older people on these kind of cruises. It's bound to happen. Better to happen now then 4 or 5  days from now when you are half way.

Are you heading back to Bermuda? If they get behind time wise, just have to cancel one of your ports later at the end of your cruise to make up the time.

Let me start by saying we've been on approximately 35 cruises. Most of them have been Azamara,NCL,Royal Caribbean, Celebrity with one MSC included. The food quality and selection on RCL borders on par with MSC which is pretty bad. The prime rib was fatty and as tough as shoe leather. The NY strip steak that the gentleman next to us looked like a door stop and he stated it was uneditable. There is no comparison to NCL whatsoever. We tried Chops hoping for a better steak experience but it was just a bit better. Definitely not with the 190 up charge. In the future it will be NCL,Azamara and Oceania only.Bye Bye RCL !

There is ALOT of "Loyal to Royal" crowd here so be prepared to get blasted as you will learn to know Royal does no Wrong !

How is the diabetic journey so far?  I thought about it when you posted these sugar free bottles.

Thanks for asking.........Doing pretty good I think lost about 12 pounds. My Doctor put me on meds. Metformin HCL 500 MG Tablets, twice a day. Been cutting out just about all sugar and carbs. It's amazing how much better I feel.........except for some pants falling off me. lol

I go back for a blood test in late June to see where I'm at compared to last time.
