  1. No idea where prices are now for DCL but my wife and I did a 11 night cruise on Disney Wonder back in September of 2006 (Southern Caribbean) which had the following ports:

    Sept. 17, 2006

    Sunday. . . Port Canaveral

    Monday. . . At Sea

    Tuesday. . . At Sea

    Wednesday. . . St. Thomas

    Thursday. . . St. Lucia

    Friday. . . Barbados

    Saturday. . . Antigua

    Sunday. . . St. Kitts

    Monday. . . At Sea

    Tuesday. . . At Sea

    Wednesday. . . Castaway Cay

    Thursday. . . Port Canaveral

We booked a Inside (Category 12 GTY)

    Price was $1165 per person.

Balconies were really expensive, actually it was the only time we have ever had an inside cabin. Didn't bother me but my wife would much rather have a balcony.

So we have not gone on Disney since but we loved everything else about the cruise except my wife couldn't do another inside even though the room in my opinion was quite large.

Couldn't beat the price so we had to try it aleast once.

I say if the price is right TRY IT !

    Jimbo:)

  2. My clients did pay $12.00 per person for tips...........$108 each for a 9 day cruise.

Says charge for cruise $3083.10.......but they paid $3089.40..........I'm checking with her now to see if she got the credit back on her credit card..........

The balance due on rccl does say 0.00 now so I guess I don't have to worry about the reservation being canceled.

The Balance due was $6.30 when I asked the question on here on November 7th.

  3. I have some clients that I just paid final payment for their cruise and I added their tips a while back. It's a 9 day cruise , so at $12.00 a day or $108 each...........Paid their final payment, but it still says they owe $6.30 before the final payment date.

Does anyone know if tips went up .35 a day? They have a JS. I'm puzzled why they are $6.30 short?

Final Payment is November 17th, thought I ask here before calling RCCL.

  4. DW says it's up to me. Still mulling it over. Our D2 assignment is right beside the forward elevators - very convienent. But, we DID spend a ton of time on the balcony when we had 7708 corner aft.

We like being near or at the back of the ships. Closer to the Dining Rooms and Windjammer and Pool and Conceirge Lounge.

We don't go to the Spa/Gym and only hit about half of the shows. We find toward the front of the ship you feel more movement when you have rough seas. We hardly ever feel anything in the back no matter what the seas are.

You will save steps even being at the back of the ship if you are eating 3 times a day, deck 10, you can even take the stairs up and down to Windjammer.

We would hate a cabin that far forward.

  5. Jimbo ... next time I'm doing cabin research, I'll need you on fast-dial.

    LOL

That photo of the aft showing all the cabins has been around for a while. I'm not sure if Jimbo was the one who took the time to label it all - but YES, that is a most helpful photo! It gets reposted when discussions about aft balconies arise.

It's not my photo, just found it searching aft cabins Freedom class.

So Todd did you take one of those aft cabins or still undecided?

    Jimbo:)

  6. Good thought! I'll look into it. We got a GTY (X), at $579. I think D1 is $749.

Edit: Just checked.. the only D or E aft available are 9704 or 9404.. those are ugly, small balconies (from what I've seen) I don't see availability for the cabins you listed. Mar 10 2014 sailing on the Liberty?

You must put in 3 persons to show they are available, even though there are only 2 of you they will let you book them, you just have to call them to make the switch. If they tell you no the first time call again.

For $340 I would make the switch and not think twice about it. Take one of the ones nearest to the end cabins though the balconies are larger then the near the center ones.

Actually those D1's are a little larger then the regular D1's also.

Take 1702 or 1402. Those Balconies are even larger then the more center D1 ones. Great View, No obstructions at all.

    Good Luck

    Jimbo:)

  7. After some soul-searching, I've decided that $1300 is really too much for 5 days. I just can't seem to justify it for the extras we'd be getting. My starting point is $579, which is what I paid for the D2. Little too much of a jump.

I did drool over several YouTube videos of GS tours. Very nice cabin. But, to be honest, the balcony did not wow me. Yes, I know the D2 is a small balcony, but I'm expecting that. Our last cruise was a corner aft- monster balcony.

JS afts are still available on this cruise, and they are just over $1,000 pp, so a $900 total price increase.

Thanks for all of the thoughts/opinions.

    I

How much to move up to a D1 cabin? There are some nice aft cabins available on deck 10 for your sailing with large balconies if that is what you are looking for?

    Cabins # 1702, 1704, 1404 and 1402 are open.

  8. Hi Bonnie or Anyone,

We will be on the Adventure for a b2b in Jan and Feb. Looks like room 6688 is available. Do you know how this room is. Looks like it should be the wrap around also. Back view and side view. Thanks in advance.

What weeks are you sailing(you might have other options)( are you trying to stay in the same cabin for both cruises and how many in your cabin?)........6688's Balcony is not like #7688's..........it does not go all the way out to that side window, much smaller balcony.

  9. We booked a regular balcony room and a single room for my sister. Her room is on the same side as ours with no balcony. She also has a door that can be

opened directly into our room. I said how could that be. The RC TA told me this ship is a whole different design. I am still wondering how could that be.

Well , it is true. I looked it up on the web site. We are on the 8th floor

room 8628 balcony . Hers 8630. She has a door that will also open in the

    hallway.

I have no idea what size this room will be. Probably a closet. And I sure

hope the toilet isn't under the bed. LOL . But we figured if she wants to

see the ocean view just come over to our room. This should be interesting.

And she has her own bathroom. We will see just how big the showers are in there too and is it worth it. It still isn't cheap.

We are not going till 2015 so we have enough time to pay for the trip.

I didn't think the D Cabin could be booked with the Studio Inside, I thought the Studio Inside could only be booked with the Junior Suite.

I still see no way they can get that all into a 101 square ft. Cabin in that Studio Inside Cabin. Seems impossible to me inless that bed is only 4ft long? I guess though if the cabin is 14' long x 7' wide it can be done.

  10. I thought you could only book a Spa Junior Suite if there were only 2 in the cabin. So when my TA tried to book the Inaugural & Dec. 1 sailing for us she only checked on SJS's, which were gone by the time she called at 9 am. Is it possible to book the FJS or Regular JS (which is part of the connecting configuration of 2 other cabins) even if it is just 2 people?

We ended up with a D1 and I was a little disappointed but still excited about going on the Quantum.

I'm not so sure that is true, maybe with the regular JS....but not the FJS, you can book them with just 2 people for sure inless because of the Inaugural they were only taking bookings with 3 or more for the regular JS to get the passenger total up?

    Seems strange to me.

Try a fake booking on RCCL.com for 2 people on the March 13th sailing. It seems to let you book any of the 3 kinds.

Family Junior Suites on deck 9 and 10 don't connect. There are the dark green cabins.

I think your agent dropped the ball.

    Jimbo:)

  11. Price-wise not much difference from inside and OV.

Should I be concern? Is the obstruction mainly from the lifeboat?

For the itinerary I am seeing (January 3, 2015),

    DO is $1069,

    K (inside) is $1079,

    H (OV) is $1059,

    G (OV) is $1099,

F (OV - forward facing 302 sq ft) is $1159

I think I would pay $260 more and get an D8.Like cabin #8650 Larger Balcony, No obstruction.

    Jimbo:)

  12. I am glad everyone is ok and the crew did a great job . I just want to go on a cruise . Please don't cancelled my cruise .

    Lisa

I think if I was in your position. I would look for another sailing and make the switch now before they do cancel it and then everyone is looking for another sailing.

I'm sure if you stress to Royal Caribbean you only get a certain week for vacation they will let you switch to another sailing with no problem, no charges.
